FYI for AE 2022 users: 2:25:42 - the Unified Camera Tool is now split into three Camera Orbit tools. Shift +1 cycles through the tools after you select the Camera tool. Holding Option on Mac or Alt on Windows will change it to the Unified Camera Tool. Pressing C after selecting the Camera tool will cycle through Orbit, Pan, and Dolly.

I guess I can say the best course that I've ever seen through my 5 years of search for a course like this, the thing that I absolutely loved about this course is that he doesn't teach you how to do something like 4-2=2 instead, he tried to teach what's the subtract is and encourages you to make the experience with it and create more creative things with it... I absolutely loved the tune that he had at the course and this 4hr course didn't make me bored or tired at all. personally, I'm not the kind of person to comment on videos on youtube but I guess I have to show how much value he is bringing through this video to us, thank you so much!

The perfect level of detail, speed, very clear, concise voice....it's like being in a classroom. I've noticed in other videos, people try to talk fast to get a lot of info in within the shortest time. But not here. It's meant to actually TEACH you something, not just rattle through something. After Effects was so challenging and overwhelming at the beginning, so would be a nightmare to explore it by myself from 0. Thank you so much, now I know the basics and can learn a new thing at my own pace :)
I have experience in Photoshop and Premiere Pro but have always found After Effects too daunting. Starting out on this tutorial, it felt really slow and I wanted to skip some, but I stuck with it and boy am I glad I did... I learned so, so, so much just by sticking with the beginning. If you have experience in other adobe products and think you can skip the introductory portion of this video, DON'T! It's slow, but you will find yourself so confused later on if you decide to do so. Try your best to stick with it! And to the authors of this video, amazing work! You have done an excellent job at making this tutorial educational. After watching this video I have remembered the hotkeys and almost all of the fundamentals to make an entire project. This is seriously something you could have charged money for. Absolutely incredible! Side Note: On the latest version of After Effects, the project files that you provided seem to lag a lot (not crash though). It didn't bother me too much, and I could follow along regardless, but it may affect others who don't have much experience with adobe products slightly. Just thought I would let you know!

Yeah, 5 years ago I thought adobe was something with which to build a house in New Mexico. Our marketing department decided I should take over all editing done in Adobe. They are not missing, he intentionally left those out because he had used them commercially in his work before. Should have never included those in this beginner's course tutorial in the first place.
Really excited to find this! I'm a graphic designer who majored in illustration and never learned After Effects - and now that I'm job searching yet again, I'm hoping to expand my skillset. Every job posting wants you to know AE - so, I'm going to learn AE! I'm hoping that my limited Premiere Pro experience will help. Keyframes sort of scare me. It's a bit intimidating, overwhelming at first, so I have to put it down, doing some relaxing things, and come back to it.
And if one havent seen that, one could never know how powerful, massive is this tool, the possibility could be endless. And it could be done with just one laptop.
Hope I could master it one day.
Thanks so much for making this video! One problem, the source files only seem to have comps, but no audio, graphics or footage. I'm not seeing anymore info anywhere about where to get the footage and I see lots of commenters with the same issue.
Can you please provide a clear directive as to where to get the actual footage you're using to follow along with?

Unfortunately I have one problem - when I downloaded and opened the "Lesson_Start.aep" file the folders in "Project" panel (Audio, Footage etc) are empty - it seems that the linked files were removed.. Could you please help me with this issue?

Great video tutorial so far. The source files are missing some files like videos and audio files. Is there a way to add this into the source files so I can download them again to follow along with the tutorial?
They are not missing, he intentionally left those out because he had used them commercially in his work before.
Should have never included those in this beginner's course tutorial in the first place.

Really excited to find this! I'm a graphic designer who majored in illustration and never learned After Effects - and now that I'm job searching yet again, I'm hoping to expand my skillset. Every job posting wants you to know AE - so, I'm going to learn AE! I'm hoping that my limited Premiere Pro experience will help. Keyframes sort of scare me. first everything was boring and hard to grasp, but I kept myself stik to it and practicing things sideways, later when motion tracker comes along and boooom I am impressed, there you got my like and subscription. thanks mate. i am really learning.
