The best outcome is if you free the spirit. Because they are reunited, even if for a moment. The other way around keeps Anna as a mindless vegetable, Baron eluded about and impossible recover and Tamara frustrated for being stuck with the hunters.
The champion There's no point, It's depressing yes, but it is the lesser evil. The six children don't die and The Crones lose their grip over Velen, all at the cost of a charred village of mad raving slaves and the death of A Bloody Baron and his wife.
hasslfoot There was a theory I found a while ago, that gives reasons as to why The Crones kidnap the children. It said that the children are carefully selected because, they have a very strong connection to magic. This would give The Crones an even stronger connection to the forces of magic, if they killed and eat them. The Spirit is a witch who wants to be a mother but, due to her warped form and mind is unable to do so. Instead she kills the parents of children and then kidnaps them to raise as her own.
Well - according to the various lore (books, folky legends etc) the spirit is FAR worse than the crones. The children would either starve to death or grow up to be a bandits if the crones haven't took interest in them.
@@theaccusator6255 Those children were fucked the moment the crone's took interest. Keep in mind that the tree spirit is someone that it took all 3 crones to fight and they're ALL afraid of it. I thought that by saving the Baron, he'd be able to keep his guys on a leash. I'd seen what happened when my younger brother played it (I bought a 12 year old this game, since he's into mythology like I was at that age.) And he freed the spirit, Baron AND Anna does, his fort goes batshit insane with all the henchmen going wild once he leaves, and the surrounding villages were paying for it. I saved the Baron and Anna in an attempt to keep that from happening.
Or, you can Free the Tree Spirit BEFORE taking the quest from the Crones. This way, once you go to the villager elder to talk to him, you will tell him you already "killed" it. This way the crones won't kill Anna and the Baron will leave to "cure her".
I unknowingly met this spirit very early on, long before I even stepped into Crow's Perch. I freed the spirit and later on during the Baron's last quest, I managed to get both Anna and Baron alive.
I am not sure if it was intentional or if it was fixed but back when I played through the game, I met the spirits first, I was exploring the location, saw the werewolf and proceed to kill it and investigate the voices. Further down the storyline, I carried on with the Baron quest and got Anna and Baron alive, though Anna seems to be in a coma. Irregardless though, the Village still gets destroyed by the spirit.
It's funny this was the alternative option. It was my first option :/ I swear to god I made every single wrong decision in the entire game. I just fucked up everything. Then I started to think the game maybe was trying to trick me, so I tried to outsmart the game and make the "bad" decision on purpose and it still ended being the worst thing I could do every time. I even lost the whole magical part of blood and whine because I chose not to talk to vampire-guy constantly. Even though the game gave me like 10 chances to change my mind. And then Gerald ended up alone because I tried to woo both Yen and Triss :| ... epic fail. But still epic.
ik this is old comment but this also is my first option. but... baron kinda deserve it. i mean baron's situation is about being drunk af and beat up his wife. funnily i begin to not believe crones because johnny worry about crones. i freed the horse and there you go. but still without baron i wonder how ciri will live
Nolan Hickey In the big picture it's bad. Baron's men start to pillage the villages and so on. If you choose to save Anna and leave the orphans to die his men only pillage one village but other than that it's relative peace in Velen.
Best ending is where you do the quest immediately but after the objective follow johnny to the house appear go to the spirit tree free and the children barons wife will live too also tell the crones you freed the spirit they will blame you not anna
Zee Reh lol the scene is confusing bc they tell anna that she did a good job keeping the kids then theyll blame geralt for not killing the tree AND then they blame anna for letting the kids escape but she donst die
@@GoldenProductionTE i have seen them at the school before maybe it's same models but not the kids ive never done the mission where i fully save the kids only this glitch ive talked about
In the first time when i play the game, i chose to kill both of them (the tree spirit and the Crones if i and Ciri got a chance later) just because i can see they were trying to whack each other to take the land and that's what i thought when i decide my path. In the second, i still kept my own path like the first time because i knew Bloody Baron is a good man who saved Ciri-the girl seems like his missing daughter and he is an Temerian.
I thought this was the main option and not an alternate. If you didn't know she was the barons wife and visited the swamp earlier looking for Ciri saving the children is the logical choice. Then again who condemns 4 children to death when there is a chance to save them and not knowing that Gran will be punished in such a horrific manner or the baron will commit suicide after. That also kinda pisses me off, she said before she passed away that she was glad to see them together once again and no dialogue option to tell the baron that there is a possibility his daughter may want to see him later, maybe a month maybe years away. He had hope within his grasp and if he cleaned up his act they may be able to reconcile.
okay but I let the spirit free. but it was because I found the mission really early in the game. like.even before I knew about the red Baron. no mentioning of freeing kids or anything I just thought it would be the right thing. after it showed that she went crazy Anna. and the red Baron took her
I remember the first time i met monster i was scared af. The figure of human likes such as noonwrath etc it's kinda ironic that when you know the backstory of these monsters you begin to feels sorry for them smh.
Save one, while the other dies: the Strengers, or the orphans. Except, even if the Spirit did free the kids, they are doomed to die in the middle of Velen anyway.
baron is fcked up anyway and should not live anymore. Saving children is the right depression after all even if you save the baron they will never recover or be happy.
FrugoHolik550121 yeah but people died anyway by trying to kill spirit + sacrifice they do every year and remember villager mentioned meal crones share with them, it was made from human so fck villagers. they send kids to follow treat road too.
I killed the tree spirit because I was actually kind of pissed off I had to run more errands for another NPC.
I killed him becuz I hit him by accident
Best reason ever
My finger slipped
Unironically almost did the same in my playthrogh, but I wanted to piss off the crones even more
Yeah, it's sad but the thing that surprised me most about this is that the tree branch could hold the Baron's Body.
LULW
Lol
😂😂😆😆
Lmao
I was shocked as hell when I saw this during my play through. I actually tried cutting the rope with the crossbow lol.
Same

OMG Same
I killed the tree spirit because it smelt of trickery. And it looked
creepy.
Did anyone see the dead body fall 10:10

so i’m not the only guy who spotted the random dude dying in the background in this quest

is there another quest that see the wife come to sense?
Don't forget the part where Crones eat all the kids
@@stage4423 small detail there.
I greatly enjoyed that even amongst the Witch Hunters, you can find right sorts.
no not the baron fuck i have to delete my save and start over

I believe the children survive and end up in an orphanage...i read that somewhere, but cant be sure where.
In Novigrad
10:11 (the background) What? What the fuck?!
God, I’d love to know what armor that is. It looks badass.
Nilfgaardian armor set
Available from the merchant in crows perch in front of fergus
... I saved her. She's mad, but she's with the baron.
is this worthy of children lives?
Right, that was my changing point...

This way though the spirit doesn't save the children and they are eaten by the crones.

What

the barron pilages villages anyway, I see both as bad, but atleast the orphans can be saved
Commander Shepherd It's not the Baron. But if the Baron didn't kill himself, he may came back some day and stop with that pilages stuff.

Woah what armor is that? It looks like Altair's armor from Assassins creed 2

Thor Nordfeld It's from DLC. Nilfgaard armor set ;)
Thanks ;D It's simply looks stunning.

I downloaded this armor but where do I find it. How do I get it anyone?? :)
