He may be a prick, and a whiny child at times, but he does serious respect Vesemir. That guy has survived a LOT. 0:54 "A bit of respect. You're not talking to Geralt." Out of nowhere, short and simple, yet lands a sucker punch of an insult at both Geralt and Yen. Lambert at his finest.
Eskel is like the quiet wolf in the pack, one who never howls or barks but when provoked can absolutely destroy you. And as much as I love Geralt, I still respect and admire Eskel for being such a good Witcher despite being so quiet and brooding all the time (I mean, he never even smiles!) Don't provoke him though... Lambert is like the hyperactive wolf of the pack, who always barks and howls at things and people, but is still a savage. Geralt is more like a famously feared wolf While Vesemir is the leader of the entire pack.
I think Eskel only replies like that because it's the only way to deal with Lambert and he's used to it. Doesn't seem like the guy who would talk like that to anyone other than Lambert or some asshole who deserves it.
That's what I said? He's insulting yennifer because she's kind of a bitch, and he's insulting Geralt because he lets her get away with it? So therefore he's insulting both of them?
yes. He is reminding them both that Geralt is her puppy and only he tolerates her bitchiness for no reason. Vesemir has no reason to put up with her arrogance because he ain't desperate to poke her.

I honestly took it as Lambert just pointing out Yennefer forgetting herself around an authority figure, she wasn't in as casual of terms with. Ought to be common sense, that you're generally required to act with less respect and tact around people you're more intimately familiar with.
And wear her lingerie to disguise thensrlves as her to call sorceresses on that magic comm device for an orgy, instead randomly prank calling some random lord, sending him into a wild panic.
Geralt is, like, all the other Witchers are like his siblings; they would totally insult and make fun of you amongst them but will always stand up beside you when the need arises. Every Witcher has made fun of each other (except Eskel who's like that quiet sibling who could be plotting his next murder or just thinking about a cup of drinks) but they've always helped each other in the battlefield. Like, they used to make so much fun of Ciri back when she was little, but look how they helped Geralt and Yen find and save Ciri from the Wild Hunt.
Vesemir is the father figure in Lambert's life, he expects nothing but shit from him, but Vesemir only inspires respect from him and emotions he is yet to cope with
Lambert is a huge tsun, he doesn't really mean the mean things he says and actually cares a lot for papa ves and his witcher bros cause that's the only family he has in his life that actually cares about him too.
This scene was actually great, it showed Yennefer's fierce unconditional love for Ciri as well as her insufferable domineering personality but it also showed Vesemir's constant calm and determination to always find a better solution. Could not find a bunch of people with less in common yet when it comes push to shove they are all they all fight and die for each other.
"A bit of respect, you're not talking to Geralt..." Seriously Garry my boy, if that didn't motivate you to sort things out with her, I don't know what would
vesemir has earned that respect, he is perhaps one of if not the oldest witcher in existence (considering most witcher schools were attacked and purged), he is quite possibly from one of first groups who underwent the trial of the grasses approx 1000 years ago, and before you go in on me in the books it makes it very clear that witchers do not age exactly and have no yet defined life expectancy (well, its around 100-200 years, but only because a witchers die from monsters, im talking purely death from old age) i imagine they have a similar if not better life expectancy in terms of death from old age than sorcerers, some of whom are 1000 years old
I don't think Vesemir is that old... i remember reading somewhere (don't remember if it was books or game) that the oldest Witcher to ever live on record was a little over 700 years old. If Vesemir were over 1000, he'd have been the one in that entry. I think, and this is just estimating with how old the fortress is, and the little bit the lore has given us, Vesemir should be around 500 years old. That's still REALLY old, especially for Witchers, who never die in their own beds. But, i don't think Vesemir had gotten to a millennia yet.
@@cussundriakneal9904 Vesemir is about 250-300, Geralt and Eskel about 100. Somewhere in the book is that Vesemir is older than Kear Morhen and Kear Morhen is 250. Humans arrived in Witcher world 500-1000 years ago.
The oldest sorcerer was about 500 y.o. and he was VERY old in terms of sorcerers' age. Witchers do not live longer than magicians. Vesemir is around 200-350 years old tops. Geralt and Eskel by books logic are about 60 during Wild Hunt. By the game's logic they are almost century y.o. And Lambert is the youngest. By books he is probably 40-50, by games about 70-80 y.o.

Yennefer: Will you howl at the moon? Vesermir: What are you stupid? No I'll make him sit on a gravestone and drink tea. Normal people: Wow that makes sense!
Lambert roasts 3 people in 1 line. Yen, for being Hermione 2.0. Geralt, for submitting to her. Vesemir, for not exerting his authority as hard as he could. Wonderful!
I love Lambert as a character. We barely have any information on him and yet he’s better developed and more sympathetic than Yen. Not that a good story is made of saints. I just think Lambert is pretty tame for all everyone busts his balls. I never liked Yen in or out of the books.
Give me a Lambert spinoff. Vessemir is great character but Lambert is a far more interesting and complex character. Not to mention how you need to balance his a hole Ness in order not to get killed by everyone who's not a witcher.
Vesemir is damn cool. He doesn't get involved in people's drama, he's knowledgeable and wise. He's good enough to of become the oldest living Witcher and gets respect or takes it. He's like that granda from Vietnam that didn't get all pissy after the war.
7:03 Lambert, the jerk, and the only one to get angry when he hears that someone else will have to go through a fraction of what he himself had to suffer
I kicked Yennefer in the Djin mission. " But she is Geralt's true love!". Geralt isn't playing, is he? I also don't want Triss. As a witcher, Geralt must walk alone, hate monster and like to have a good time in Passiflora
1:00 Burn! I think it's pretty safe to say that Yennefer is clearly wearing the pants in the relationship and has no problems manipulating Geralt to do her bidding by bossing him around, pouting or simply promising sex on top of a stuffed unicorn.
Come on do you really think that? Shes unlikable on the surface but she obviously cares deeply for them both. She was sold by her parents, born deformed, went through some shit to become a sorceress as well, yen is a damaged person who puts up a lot of walls. People do this all the time, they act detached because they are afraid of getting hurt, and they also try to make a show of strength by being mean and cold. She has spent a lot of her life feeling lower than worthless, and as a sorceress she tries to project a version of herself that is unbreakable and untouchable. You can find her unlikeable, as tortured people often are, and you can say she's manipulative, as you would expect anyone in her situation to be, but you can't say she doesn't care. It's why people like her character, shes so tortured, but then she finds people she can open up to, like Ciri and Geralt. I think that line in priscillas song touches on this perfectly, talking about "a love you might never have found". In the beginning clearly Yen resents that geralt bound them together against her will because of her grand plans and strong will. But she actually ends up opening up to him when she never would have done that on her own, she would have been afraid to open up and would probably have avoiding getting attached. Edit: oh wait lol misread that, thought you said she didn't care. Well whatever, hope someone who's anti yen reads this and appreciates the character a bit more.
@@KD-ou2npThis must be book Yen. Game Yen is absolutely insufferable. She once yeeted Geralt over a lake because they had a fight. Now Geralt is a spineless bitch who takes every hit without complaints. Anyone with half a spine would have correctly recognised this as domestic abuse cut her out of their life. Not Geralt of course. Man frustrates me, ngl. Also, she behaves very stupidly at times in the game, which means that it isn't worth adjusting to her shenanigans. Like why use that sacred garden for necromancy when the forest that Ciri wrecked was available as well? - Also, she could teleport, so......
5:10 I'll never understand other women. While Eskel doesn't have the traditional 'pretty boy' look Geralt is lucky enough to own, he's a hella charming dude in his OWN way - to me at least. If I had to pick one outta the three Wolf School guys, I'd choose an evening with Eskel in a heartbeat 😆 Apperance is one thing, another is that he just has that cool, calm, collected dude vibes and that's definitely what I also love about him.
It’s like the dialogue option you can have with him when hunting the forktail. Eskel: it’s times like this I’m glad this ugly mug of mine keeps the women away Geralt: Looks aren’t everything at least not to most women
7:03 They say Witcher mutations strip them of emotions. I say that's some Grade A bullshit, probably relieves them of stress in combat so they have absolute focus but they have emotions and they have humanity. In fact they have more humanity than any other species since they're the barriers between human species and monster species. (The monsters don't have to be bloodthirsty, they can be sentient and calm like Johnny the Godling)
It is said in game that the “Witchers are stripped of all emotions” thing is purely a rumor/lie, just like “All Witchers need coin to do anything” or “All Witchers are merciless killers” are also false
theres a side quest in which you can avoid fighting 3 out of 4 bosses if youve let more than one monster go. i like that all those times i chose what felt right wasnt just glanced over and forgotten. theres a group of monsters in the mission that argue for you against a bloodthirsty werewolf because you helped monsters instead of blindly murdering them.
@@DSkulle1 2 out of the 3. I know which Quest you're talking about. No matter what the Godling wimps out leaving the Troll, Werewolf and Doppler. Provide 2 creatures and the Troll and Doppler are discouraged from fighting.
I've always hated Yennefer (despite really loving how well-written she is), though she's okay in the game, but man... it's satisfying when someone goes toe-to-toe with her and doesn't bow down to her like Geralt does lol
"A bit of respect, you're not talking to Geralt" Then they ask, why do we love Lambert. Prick he may (a big one at that), but he'll be there for you if the need arises, while telling you all the time that he'd rather be elsewhere.
Only if you play him like one. In the books they both give as much as they take, in the game you can actually be pretty mean to her at quite some points, and get away with it. But I guess some people have the wrong idea that if the guy doesn't get his boots licked by his girlfriend, is because he's a beta. I'm sure you won't have dated too many strong character girls in your life if you believe that...
Marco Femto Bossy or perhaps someone who actually knows what they’re doing and they’re tired of folks whining at her and not doing their part and she’s annoyed and impatient cause her child is in danger perhaps 🤔
Why should he? He is what - 300 years old? He's seen more shit. Could have utterly destroyed Yen had he wanted. Be it a battle of magic, strength or logic.
***** its not about their lifespan yes they can be but yennefer is like only 100 years old and she is sometimes a bitch whereas vesemir's a kind old man
Yeniffer is the expert in the room, she has more knowledge than all of them combined. tbh I would listen to yen over then in anything but battle strategy or how to kill a particular monster
This is the main reason of why I hate Yen so so much. People say she's just confident and doesn't take shit and she did what she has done is all just for Ciri. I think she just has no respect to anyone, striaght up rude and a total control freak. No respect to other witchers which are also Geralt's friends especially towards Vesimir. I'm shocked she dares talk to Vesimir like that and even more surprised Geralt can put up with that. If there's no Triss option, my version of Geralt would rather just stay single and goes on the road hunting monsters than staying with this annoying woman.
Yep, she pretty much sees people as tools, except for Geralt and Ciri. But with those two, she is mostly open and friendly and funny. Their banter with Geralt was frankly a lot more heartfelt than the Triss conversations. Especially when Ciri was there, it seemed a lot like Yen took the role of a parent (aka an actual human). These moments were mostly missing in the Triss romance option, so I felt like the game was unintentionally pushing for a Yen romance.
Nathan M yeah I know. Still she's still a quite terrible person.. I don't doubt her love towards Geralt and Ciri. But I just can't stand her narcissistic and controlling personality. And all the things she did when looking for Ciri. A lot argue it's admirable that she would sacrifice anything for Ciri and called her selfless. But the things she did are actually terrible and to the point horrifying. Stole and used a mask that will bring chaos to the land, necromancy and drawn all the power from the sacred tree which basically means life to the village, not to mention that village just got slaughtered by the wildhunt, barking orders to all the witcher without explanations. She showed no sympathy to anyone or anything other the ones she loves and her own feeling. That's what I called selfish.
LoneWolf69sg nothing wrong with enjoying their ass fucked by their women if both give their consents. But honestly I don't think they have ever been with someone that controlling in their life. Its not a good experience.
kabeltelevizio I think they were obviously pushing because its geralt's canon romance in the book. She wasn't in the first 2 games so CD Red was kinda obliged to push the romance. And because triss was heavily featured in the first 2 game and has her own fan base. Its only right to put her back.
I love how all witchers have a convenient, cosmetic scratch on their face over one eye. But of course without actually damaging the eye. Just there to make them look cooler I guess. I'd be surprised if they didn't give them to each other. Only Eskel's looks like it wasn't deliberate.

While Vesemir is the leader of the entire pack.

Vesemir aint no bitch.
vesemir has earned that respect, he is perhaps one of if not the oldest witcher in existence (considering most witcher schools were attacked and purged), he is quite possibly from one of first groups who underwent the trial of the grasses approx 1000 years ago, and before you go in on me in the books it makes it very clear that witchers do not age exactly and have no yet defined life expectancy (well, its around 100-200 years, but only because a witchers die from monsters, im talking purely death from old age) i imagine they have a similar if not better life expectancy in terms of death from old age than sorcerers, some of whom are 1000 years old
I don't think Vesemir is that old... i remember reading somewhere (don't remember if it was books or game) that the oldest Witcher to ever live on record was a little over 700 years old.
@@Spherrum Lambert can't be much younger than Geralt and Eskel because of Pogrom of Kear Morhen, Geralt was young when, fortress was attacked and someone must mutate Lambert.

1:00 Burn! I think it's pretty safe to say that Yennefer is clearly wearing the pants in the relationship and has no problems manipulating Geralt to do her bidding by bossing him around, pouting or simply promising sex on top of a stuffed unicorn.
while she is manipulative the in game dialog really reinforces how much she cares for both geralt and ciri despite her bitchy attitude.

Huh What she apologizes to Vesemir when he comes back
Nathan M yeah I know.
Its only right to put her back.
every witcher gangsta until vesemir arrives
I love how all witchers have a convenient, cosmetic scratch on their face over one eye. But of course without actually damaging the eye. Just there to make them look cooler I guess. I'd be surprised if they didn't give them to each other.
Only Eskel's looks like it wasn't deliberate.
At 6:30 you can see all the math formulas and algorithms
Yen is toxic, glad to see Vesemir put her in her place
“Mixing work and romance? Bad idea.”
Don’t you fucking start, Geralt.
Lambert's reaction to Yen using the Trial of the Grasses on Uma really tells a lot of how he hates the whole Witcher induction business.
Man, they did such a good job on this. That look at 6:36 is absolutely perfect.
yeah animation is top notch
Papa Vesemir doesn't fuck around.
