- Cutting large format 900mm x 600mm 20mm outdoor porcelain tiles with a mini disc cutter and a Rubi dx 250 wet saw around an inspection chamber .Really difficult cuts .Also showing how to lay outdoor porcelain tiles on cement mortar with paving slurry.

Hope your well mate and yes the weather is awful down here in sunny wales 🌧☹.Tell you what porcelain is such a pain to cut you can invest in all the latest equipment and blades but its not a given its still not gonna fracture and split mate its bloody nerve racking mate 🤣 stay safe mate all the best

Very nice , having laid porcelain myself not only is a cut like that difficult without breaking, the next challenge is laying it without breaking. 👍🏻

A nice tidy job there lads, but just wondering, do you guys use the prime slurry on natural stone and concrete slabs

Lovely work Justin. Use 9inch Dewalt cordless saw a lot on porcelain great saw handy for cutting facing bricks and Indian sandstone exc. instant power save bringing the big stihl out to much. Got the Rubi 250 brand new coming out to play soon have a load of borders to cut. Marcrist do a top porcelain blade for petrol saw costs me £210 a think but does a great cut with water suppression.
Ive seen these new saws around is the power enough and does it last long enough though ?.
Marcrist bades have always been very good when ive got them in to be fair lee.
250 rubi is a nice saw be good for you aswell mate.
This porcelain is a git to cut though especially the the intricate cuts it tens to fracture and snap a lot ive lots to learn mate .

Yes it lasts with 12ah battery but will never replace gas saws. A cut maybe 15 plus cuts on porcelain and was still going. Block wise maybe 30 cuts. Luke any battery powered thing more harsher the material or harder it’s worked will use battery quicker. Super charger charges in 60 mins the big monster batts. Like the saw for small cuts like 3/4 bricks or few cuts copes slabs exc great for up in scaffolding. But for ripping in stuff quickly will pull out the Ts700 saw it’s animal super power blast through block 10-15 secs or less. Duro blades use mostly have the marcrist porcelain blade on the ts420. Cuts great. Yeah same mate have a good week take care.

Ive never used a ts700 lot of money them machines are are they electric start aswell. Are they good reliable saws then lee ?.cutting porcelain its all about the combination of saw and blade .i think vibration in the blade has to be kept to a minimum for the porcelain not to snap aswell.
So sharpening the blade and recognize when to do this is also so important.

That’s why like using the Dewalt cordless saw buddy for porcelain. Trust me that would be a great investment for you. Yeah ts700 is a power house cost over a grand most powerful saw on the market. Doesn’t get bogged down ripping into concrete. Think av touched on this before but for me as a bricklayer a 14inch concrete saw is a must. To be honest ma Ts420 which is 14inch is ideal there £630 range new. 700 only 4 months old. Ts420 showed machine never had any issues must say a do look after them only use super hp stihl oil in them too. 700 more heavier as expected with engine size. The low handle on its great. But only benefit from cutting into loads concrete brick walls exc. ts420. Probs best all rounder and lighter and half the price. Low handle get better leverage when doing vertical cuts. Must say that on 700 a do like. If getting new saw mate don’t get the fuel enjected start 1,s.

Hi justyn Would you suggest using a smaller grinder for cutting the tiles with? I have a 9inch grinder and it’s chipping the slab all the time
Its what your comfortable with but the blade is so important on porcelain has to be a good blade for porcelain

Either the elite stone tools website or phil at pulvex just google both .
You will find some porcelain does fragment .water suppression helps .
If it still happens use a polishing or sanding pad can get a hand held one or you can buy one for the mini disc cutter to remove it but then you'll get a chamfer to the edge .
Ring either company and have a chat henry at elite or phil at pulvex tell them whats happening and they will help get some decent stuff sent out to you and both companies not expensive.

Pave tuff slurry is from travis p .marshalls or ulta scape are also good if not better pave tuff is a bit bitty and sets quick .
Youd have to ask your local hire centre to hire a wet cutting table or bench saw .

I feel your pain manhole covers are the bane of my life I was doing one in February and I broke seven 600 x 1200 flags doing one cut One of them I did perfect then when I put in tapped it down it broke that was a bad day 😢😢
Or its just so nerve racking isnt it Davey .people dont realise how much work goes into laying porcelain.

@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping yes mate it is or how expensive it can be if you make a mistake and of course with it being quite new I think everyone is still learning the best way or their best way to cut and lay it completely different animal compared to sandstone

But I want to get into Porcelain as this is fast becoming what everyone wants! Any tips? I do plan on buying a few tiles and practicing in my own yard though!
Tbf mate if I pulled the suction cups out if get laughed at but after laying a patio last week my back is killing me and my piles have come back. So I think I should let them laugh and look after myself lol. WhTs the name of the brand mate and do they ever fail?
🤣😂😂 got me laughing that has Ben 🤣🤣 .they are rubi suction cups about £65 each well worth it .They failed once in cold weather but overall they are a back saver brilliant mate 👍💯

Yes its porcelain and very brittle so i wanted to reduce the vibration to reduce the breakage on such an awkward cut .👍💯 thanks ben mate

I’m currently in middle of a 90 square meter porcelain anthracite gray 3x2 job at the minute and have 3 inspection trays with similar difficult cuts

Ye I will Johnny said said he can get me a rubi wet cutter as well but it’s the space I’ve only a swb transit and with mixer and waker and my boxes there’s no room for one so hopefully these will help 👍
@@garethwilliamsmanchesterga5864 John and Alison got me my saw and he helped me set it up .we have the same equipment bigger van but the saw goes in the van but not the mixer just got to get over that by two trips or using clients garage etc
