Making a nice job of it Justin & brad 👍 I feel your pain with the porcelain. I find the thin blades from elite stone tools to be great but find the key to Minimise braking tiles is to keep the blades dressed with a dressing stone every couple of cuts, this reduces the pressure you need to apply to cut reducing vibration and heat. I usually score the cuts first, then cut in both end then do the cut in a couple of passes.
We use a combination as 4” grinder, 9” dewalt flex volt grinder (with water on) and bring out the Rubi table saw but that’s becoming less and less now with the dewlt flex volt grinder, nice and balanced and hardly any vibration. Used to use the Rubi ECD blade but found they didn’t last to long even with dressing
    Keep up the good work
    Joe

I am using porcelain slabs in my own garden approx 34 sqm, it is my first time and I am using pulvex diamond disc on a 230mm angle grinder.. I am not a professional by any standard but I did do a lot of research into blades as my main worry was it fragmenting/chipping on cuts. So far the pulvex blade I would highly reccomend, yes you still do get the odd chippings but using the rubi ecd 115 to grind it down. Keep the good vids coming, it helps diy'ers like myself :-) also I am cutting the slab on a wooden pallet with a foam underlay to help with vibrations for those tight cuts. Initially I cut it straight on the pallet and found the vibration would cause chipping, using a foam underlay (left over from a laminate job) that helped massively.

Those cuts like a nightmare..must be so much tension in those slabs for them to shatter like that!
Thats a top tip facing the artificial grass towards the house!
Do love sthils cos you can just take them anywhere and they are so quick..but that cutter on the stand produces a much better cut!

    Hi Justin
Glad you got some good weather mate 👍 it's very frustrating cutting porcelain as you say mate and what we find some porcelain cuts fine . Then other porcelain snaps and fragments no matter what blade you use ? We use rubi blades but go through blades like no ones business. We allow £200 for blades on any project now Justin because of the poor quality of cheaper porcelain coming through ! Slow and steady mate 👍 and we if we hand cut of the bench we cut on some artificial grass on a board it takes the vibration out the blade and tends to stop it snapping ? But at the end of the day mate as you know it's always the one you've spent 10 minutes cutting and the last bit and bang it snaps 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 hope you've had a good week mate ? Keep safe and all the best 👍

Marcrist blades are top notch for the porcelain. Dewalt cordless cutter is fantastic for this a the lower power and less vibration use the Dewalt saw a lot buddy. On this stuff. Marcrist £210 for blade but there top notch for the stihl cutter.

Hey good memory , I’ll not Forget that either 😢 I’m still trying and experimenting how to cut it with different blades and methods yes the ruby helps but still it’s not foolproof , i’ve tried the ECD on my last two jobs yes it’s a good blade for shaving off or maybe just doing a little cut out of the flag but for long straight cuts like manhole covers I think it may cause too much vibration just my opinion not 100% sure if that’s the reason I think, that’s the problem you don’t know why it fractures sometimes the way does or breaks it makes you question is it the way am cutting or is there an imperfection in the product 🤯 so I’m just using a little cutting blade on the Grinder (Matty from Brockstone is the best for the still saw I’ve seen)

Will get a marcrist for the saw cut quicker and last lot longer going by the 1 a have for petrol.
Do have a Rubi blade here so will put that on and comepare with this elite stone blade.
