- Good morning/afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to my next Let's Play; a playthrough of one of my all-time favorite games for the Game Boy Advance; Fire Emblem.
This game was officially what got me into the Fire Emblem series and has been a very special and important game for me for a really long time. Not sure what I was getting into when I first acquired this game, having the same exposure to the series like most people had (through Smash Bros.), I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself falling in love with the game and series from that point on. I'm happy to share my experiences with you guys as I play through this amazing game!
I do plan to show off both Eliwood and Hector mode in this playthrough. How I'm going to accomplish that though will remain to be seen until I'm ready for that point. In the future, I also wouldn't mind showing off Hector Hard Mode (maybe on stream or something) as it is a pretty difficult playthrough. For now though, I'm just going to go through a normal, standard playthrough (starting with Lyn Hard Mode and moving on to Eliwood Normal mode after the fact), just to enjoy the ride as we move forward through this game!
In this first video, we set up our playthrough, meet our first lord, name our tactician, and take on the prologue chapter.

Hell yeah, FE with Slim. I've never really experienced FE outside of Fates (which was awesome). Can't wait to see more of this. :3
You should try Genealogy.
Also I'm a bit surprised you didn't cover the way hit rates and growth rates work, those are pretty integral systems. Hope you go over the mechanics next episode

the japanese copy of this game has you enter your blood type as well i know this because i am luck to own a boxed copy of this game from japan and the UK version both were relatively cheap and i have more extra stuff in my japanese copy just due to being able to unlock them unlike the UK version which took out some things because they needed a copy of binding blade to link up to unlock it which is the way the japanese got around the normal mode of lyn's story and straight to Eliwood's story on a new game
fun fact did you know that the pal version has the opera singer taken out of the intro music? or that the text is a little smaller for the dialogue?
Man...this game. One of my all time favorites not only in Fire Emblem but in game's in general. I wish you good luck on this series because I know this game, and fire emblem's in general, can be a pain to complete in video form. I know because I spent two total years let's playing this game. Once originally and for a second time a year later to improve on what I did because my original series was a hot mess. Finished it the other month so I guess I finished just in time to enjoy yours without any guilt XD. Good luck Slim!

Is it just me, or whenever I turn the game off on the main menu, I lose all my progress. Anyone else have this issue?

i like fe6 more when it comes to story.i wonder if i would like fe7 that much too if it was in the 3dsprogram instead of fe8.the intro of the game has a pretty great feel of epicness and casual atmosphere honestly
FE7 is 20 years before FE6 in the Elibe games.
