Much respect to the whole team. Your videos are getting better every week, and what you show, the day to day qok and worries, as well as the teamwork involved brings the viewers into life at the barn Great respect for Paulie. I have enough trouble arguing with my 1200 lb appy when she feels humorous (vet visit, she's very good with farrier, wven farrier says so). Those drafts are absolutely terrifying. Know it's not their fault, but that's no help if someone gets hurt. That takes real courage and compassion.
I worry so much about Pauly when I watch these. I worry about injuries he may get. I watch him while he works and see how he looks at the camera every time the horse acts up. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for him knowing that a lot of the behaviors would be avoided if only owners would ACTUALLY TAKE CARE of their horses. Blessings to all who work with these poor animals.
Paulie deserves about a million gold stars for the care, compassion, and empathy he has for the horses. You could not have found a better farrier. Thank you Paulie! ❤
i really appreciate you doing actual rehab for your rescues. I cried when Pauly unveiled those abscesses on that beautiful sweet Quarab mare. It's such a blessing to hear you say the words, "you are going to get better". Animals do listen and understand. Our job is to listen to them. Kudos Pauly on your good work, but even more how you say, "it's fixable". progress videos give hope and happiness. I hope you are able to show a progress report on the Quarab mare.
I trimmed my horses for over a decade and rode barefoot all over several states. It hurts to see untrained, uncared for horses like those here. It’s so unnecessary and preventable. Thank goodness for y’all and the pros like Pauly that try to fix them. God bless you and keep you safe.
I had an older horse (20+) horse that foundered horribly after getting into a trashcan of chicken feed. It was touch and go whether or not he would make it. He ended up living into his late 30's and even had a show career. A great farrier like Pauly is worth more than a dozen vets, imo. It's very nice to know that you guys don't give up on foundered horses. I've seen far too many rescues that just euthanize older horses with even a little rotation.
The guy who took Socrates home was so genuinely happy, loading him himself etc. somehow i get the feeling that getting a belgian is this guys hildhood dream that finally came true.
Wow! Abscess after abscess. Poor horses, so much pain from neglect. I wish some of them could be sedated during hoof care to save Pauly from possible injury or the horses from hurting themselves further. You guys are all awesome for everything you do. Hope all the sore feet heal up quickly so they have relief.
Omg, Pauley is an absolute SAINT ❤. Ya'll are soo lucky to have him! It's extremely hard working on horses that are in pain 😢. I just don't and never will understand why so many people neglect their horses feet, no feet no horse! Love and God Bless you all at PT 💜 ✝️ Jennifer in AZ.
Having worked with both jumpers and thoroughbred race horses, I gotta say; race track farriers have it sooo easy. Compared to heaven knows what Paulie might find after not being trimmed for who knows how long. This is a hard working man. When I see him give a test tap to the conrete bottom of a plate sized hoof; better him than me I tell ya!! I hope all your clients appreciate you Paulie!! Wow, I saw the show where that stock was built, not that long ago. I think you're gonna need one with some steel in it soon...
Rough sitation with Sugar, no wonder she was so sore. Poor Molly, incorrect shoes giving her that nasty abcess. I love how determined Pauly is to help these poor horses, even when they're being butts about the idea of picking up their feet!
Wow. Watching Martha ‘sculpt’ the edges of that creaking stock, Paulie’s part farrier, part stuntman, isn’t he!! 💪🏽⚠️ Heartbreaking to see all 4 hooves have abscesses, must be painful, really thankful that they’ve been eased to drain out, and that they’re fixable. All you guys do amazing work. #NotAllHeroesWearCapes ❤
I am aghast at the amount of neglect it took for Sugar Plum to get to the state she's in, and the amount of pain she's suffered because the humans around her failed her completely. I understand her owner wasn't able to, but there were others who COULD have done something. The fact that they chose not to is criminal. I wish there were consequences for them. I'm looking forward to Plum's healing journey. She's such a sweet mare. She deserves so much better than what the humans in her past have given her.
Sugar plums feet broke my heart. Everything that is wrong with her feet could have been prevented just by providing the most basic care. I cannot imagine how sore she is even with pain meds. I so hope she can heal enough to have a good quality of life. Even if it's just for a few years.
No wonder sugarplum is walking that badly. Her feet must hurt soo bad with each step she takes :( I'm really happy that you and pauly are willing to help the sweetheart ♥
Holy crap, poor Sugarplum. I have had my fair share of horses with feet issues. I also thought I was a bad owner for going 4 weeks overdue with trims. After seeing Sugarplum's feet, I don't feel so bad. I have my geldings on an 8 week schedule.
Goodness …. Pauly has his handsful with some of those horses. Bless him for his patience. Especially the reluctant drafts. Glad two horses found their forever homes.
Pauly the miracle worker!! Horses are so lucky when you walk in the door to see them!! 💛 How can any human being let that much neglect happen to these amazing souls!! That poor girl!! I hope she recovers quickly. And why on God’s green earth do people that have a draft horse not teach them proper ground manners!!! Something of that size has to be taught from birth to behave the right way. Poor Pauly won’t ever need to go to the gym, he gets a workout by doing his job. I love the look on Pauly’s face when Martha was throwing a tantrum. Like “SERIOUSLY!!?”
I am amazed, that Pauly a abel to help so many horses, other Will say.. that it can't be done... But Pauly have proven them wrong so many times .. Just amazing 👏👏👏👏
Earliest I've been to an upload, just wanted to say what you folks are doing is amazing!! I love horses, my mom grew up with them, it pains me to see so many neglected babies put to auction or sent to slaughter.
@Pony Tales Refuge with abscesses that you have to soak, you may want to get some shower caps. You can put the solution in the cap and put the hoof in the cap as well. Its easier than trying to kerp them soaking in a bucket
Thank God for Pauly if anyone can help her poor feet Pauly can, thankyou all so much for everything you all do for these amazing beautiful creatures, I hope they all can go on to owners who really appreciate them. Love to you all ❤❤❤❤
Thankyou! awesome updates. Can you please remind viewers to give you all a 👍! Please continue to keep us informed off all progress going forward humanand equine amazing❤
These drafts are so far gone that there is no time to train them to give up their feet. They need trim and abscess relief asap. Kudos to Paulie. I suggest you build out door stocks with concrete and steel then build a shelter over it.
Gosh y'all! I've been watching for a long time! This has been the MOST emotional one! Didn't know whether to laugh or cry! You ladies and gentleman are the best! Maybe one day soon I can help out! Being on Social Security in this economy, well you can only imagine! Love you guys! Bless your efforts for each babe you rescue and take in! Our God, their Creator will bless you for helping the helpless! 💔🙏🙏😪❤🐎❤️
I love your farrier he is exceptionally talented he helps rehabilitate and save God's creation , it's very touching to witteness his care and love for horses who are in need . I just wish he wouldn't take the Lord's name in vain . I think God for his passion and talent understanding and knowledge and wisdom he shares with the you tube audience. I wish him much success and I do appreciate his devotion and care to The broken hores that God puts in his care .
17:50 if she has been a draft horse to Amish, she might wait for the right message for go, and also, being confused because there's no pull, so she doesn't quite understand what they want.. I my opinion..
Something I learned recently- many horses that throw frequent abscesses or multiple ones at the same time, it is often a sign of Cushing’s ! It’s one of the first signs for horses that don’t show other typical signs.
I love Pauly, he is very determined and good farrier! Some of the things he must deal with are more than a normal person can handle! Thank God for him and if and when he retires, then what?
Socrates is a match to my late Joe. Joe was my "saddle pony" for his whole life. What a gentle giant he was. And, he had a real smooth rocking chair lope - he could do almost staying in one place.
We used to put a thin gauze wrap over the bottom of the foot to keep the shavings out of the hole in the feet from an abcess , so shavings couldent get in it , but it could breathe. , and we would uses epsom salt soaks in pretty warm water to pull an abcess out of a foot. If we took them outside to graze in hand, we wrapped the foot in gauze, then put a rain boot on it to keep it clean , ( like a rubber shoe cover for human s but fot a horse, or we used tire intertube ..just to go outside and graze, ( fresh air, a little exercize and to kill boredom , ) then take it off immediately when in the stall and used a thin piece of gauze to keep shavings out. It was funny because they would lay down , and sleep, because it felt good, and they trusted us that it was " ok" to lie down and sleep.
That sweet nature mare with 4 Bad feet I am so glad you are going to try to get her right. You could just show us preparation for farrier training at the centre.❤
Can't wait to see what's in-store for tonight's video. Wondering if you all could give an update or bio on Manny? He seems to be one of the longest horse up for adoption on your site. Just curious. He looks like a good boy. Thanks
Glad you have Pauly on board. He is abselutely the best farrier Iv seen. Poor Sugarplum. Must be hurting so much. "As crazy its sounds, she is fixable." I wish all farriers were like Pauly. I have a question... Wy do almost all drafthorses have to stay in stock, (hope its the right name)? Is it beacuse they are so heavy or badly trained?
It is tough for them to hold themselves up on 3 legs due to their size so the stock gives them that extra support. Some smaller drafts are able to pick them up without it. It is also easier on the farrier rather than trying to hold up that heavy leg, especially since horses often like to lean on the farrier.
Pauly, you are amazing, I wish ther were ferriers like you in southeast Alaska in the 90' back when I was working with horses! My friends Appaoosa could have used you at the time. sHe had bad feet and was always going lame. Her legs were always swelling up on her, her feet were always bad, and our ferrier was always putting on more and more expensive shoes but could never tell us why, why he was using that shoe, what the shoe was for or howvit was suppose to help?
Im not horse minded. I did wonder if a crush like they use to trim cows and bulls could be made for farriers. So they had complete control of the horse or is this not possible. Sorry for my ignorance I just wondered. I see pauly and other farriers get 7 kinds of .. bashed out of them, bad backs etc. There must be a better way. Good work folks enjoy watching your work.
Halo says please halp, this is not haynin' my hay bag, i have knocked it down and stepped on it for you. Can you freshen this up? Big eyelash blink of cuteness??😅❤ Iris I think is wonderingvwhy is she supposed to be walking but is not hitched to anything? Are the tiny humans sure? Well, okay then!
For the safety reasons of your farrier, these horses need some Dorm gel on board. They also could be made to move in a short circle lunge with poor behavior, and learn standing at rest with a foot in the air versus moving around on them in pain/ or not in pain sucks far worse. Literally minutes of work can change poor ground manners in some! Many take much more than that, but they can learn despite past trauma and pain. Your farrier is precious- don’t let him get his hands, knees or anything else destroyed by a horse that has fear, or pain, or a temper tantrum. Not worth it.
Try a hood like with blinkers on it will help you with the draft horse because they are use to pull with you behind on a cart and i had to use a hood with blinkers on it for my ex pacer till he was use to me on his back
Oh the other word to use as soon as possible to get them to learn is foot as you pick it up. They get so used to this after a while that is all a farrier has to say and up will go the foot.
Much respect to the whole team. Your videos are getting better every week, and what you show, the day to day qok and worries, as well as the teamwork involved brings the viewers into life at the barn

Was supposed to be work, not qok😊
Pauly has an incredible amount of patience and courage working with the big drafts!
I thought for sure she was going to shake the stock appart
I just love Pauly , he is the best. A guardian angel for these poor horses. Prayers always for the Pony Tales team, you girls are awesome.❤️🙏

Got to love Pauly and his back breaking work. He is amazing! His blue eyes are an added bonus for us UA-cam viewers! Lol

Martha "Dude, every other horse you've looked at today had a gaping hole in their hoof, no way in Hell I'm letting you near mine". 🤣
These are rescue horses, damage done before they got them.
@@gillfish6399 That just went straight over your head didn't it? 🤣
What a great horse to let pauly do that with abscesses ❤

Pauly is really getting a workout…great job..😊
🎼Good Golly Miss Molly🎸 No wonder she was fighting against getting her feet done. Another abscess!!
Wow! Pauly got a workout today 💪🏻❤
Thank God for Pauly!!! I can NOT EVEN IMAGINE THE PAIN that poor girl has been in! Breaks my heart! 💔🙏🙏😪 I'm soo thankful for you, Pauly! ❤🥰

Man, poor Paulie. Worth his weight in gold for sure!
Good for you all rescuing these animals ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Goodness …. Pauly has his handsful with some of those horses. Bless him for his patience. Especially the reluctant drafts. Glad two horses found their forever homes.

Yes, BUT, Pauly said he could fix her!!!♥️🐎♥️
Lovely Draught horse, they look good as riding horses ❤

She may have never been ridden. The Amish don't speak English. Their mostly Pennsylvania Dutch, a form of German.
Halo has the cutest face. She looks so sweet. Horses have the softest velvety feeling noses. Draft horses are like sitting on a comfy couch.
God save the farrier ❤
Something I learned recently- many horses that throw frequent abscesses or multiple ones at the same time, it is often a sign of Cushing’s ! It’s one of the first signs for horses that don’t show other typical signs.
Good luck Pauley😂😂😂
‘Needs Jesus’. I LOVE IT. 😂
That is such a beautiful horse!😊😊❤❤❤

Dumb auto correct Pauly
I think the horses will have to take him out themselves before he retires lol
The Farrier isnt paid enough..lol..he needs danger money !!..definately the star of the show this video bless him..braver than me !
The poor horses with the abscesses. No wonder they're painful 😢 I hope they heal up quickly.
Iris is so cute! What a darling
With Madtha, those draft stocks were Rockin N Rollin! She was ready to rip those stocks right out of the floor!
Socrates is a match to my late Joe. Joe was my "saddle pony" for his whole life. What a gentle giant he was. And, he had a real smooth rocking chair lope - he could do almost staying in one place.
Joe lived to be 24 y/o. I had him 23 years of that life.
I heard you say… Animals are better than people … you’ve said a mouthful.❤😊
Pauly has the patience of a saint! On another subject, how is Emma and her kids?
OMG. That stock took a beating. I don't want to see the day it fails. ☹️
God bless all life ❤
Watching Pauly w that draft, OMG!!!!She's down right dangerous w those back feet!
Everyone is so kind. I love all of you.

Sugarplum looked so sad when walking back into her stall after the trim.
Poor Plum. You can see pain in her eyes....to me anyway. People.......😢
Glad you have Pauly on board. He is abselutely the best farrier Iv seen. Poor Sugarplum. Must be hurting so much. "As crazy its sounds, she is fixable." I wish all farriers were like Pauly. Excellent video!!!
Why does Molly (? The black horse in the stock at 35:20) lowkey look like a horse handpuppet? With those eyes and the way she moves 😂
Pauly, you are amazing, I wish ther were ferriers like you in southeast Alaska in the 90' back when I was working with horses! It's a thought, but for the feared horses, it can cause more trauma than needed.
Ray can ride a anything, I Love her.
Well done pauly. Love ❤️ Nicola in the uk ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍👍👍
You got barngoblins!
Oh my goodness Pauly you’re a gem….
Thank you for sharing.🐴🐴
@43:11 would make a good short video! Haha!
All animals are better than people!
Omgosh when he says needs Jesus 😂😂😂that was so funny.
Halo says please halp, this is not haynin' my hay bag, i have knocked it down and stepped on it for you. Can you freshen this up? Big eyelash blink of cuteness??😅❤
Iris I think is wonderingvwhy is she supposed to be walking but is not hitched to anything?
I can smell that foot from here!
Still waiting on the Pauly pony pedi show!
I wonder if Iris was constantly checking out behind her as she was used to wearing blinkers when she worked. … 🤔
46:50 SEDATION!!
Hey you should give Pouly a hat with a magnetic field on the Schade.. for holding the hoof nails..
How about trying to give horses that don't like the stock some carrots or treats while they're in there to distract them from the farrier.
Try a hood like with blinkers on it will help you with the draft horse because they are use to pull with you behind on a cart and i had to use a hood with blinkers on it for my ex pacer till he was use to me on his back
Pauly you need a big muscled guy to do your light work😂
I wonder if she's used to voice commands ?
Do they make some sort of cushioning booties to help horses with feet that are so painful?
Oh the other word to use as soon as possible to get them to learn is foot as you pick it up. They get so used to this after a while that is all a farrier has to say and up will go the foot.
Hi. I would love to know how many animals Pauly has got from you?
I believe 8 or 9.
