Sad outcome for two horses but sure beats living in constant pain and fear. They were given great care while you had them. Thanks for all you do for these sweet and sometimes, less sweet but worthy horses. I think the name for the hay feeder should be Harriet the Hay bag or Hayriet :)

For the mare with cellulitis you could try using a paint sprayer to apply the topical medicine .. that way you don’t have to touch her leg to apply it.

DSLD isn't always a automatic death sentence. I understand you have to pay for treatment, but he still is young and I have had success in younger horses.
A heavy coating of Vaseline every other day or so will take care of the mites. A cup of ground up flax seed will help with arthritic, ring bone, and hoof care. Thank you

We use a garbage can to fill our hay bags. Put the bag in the can like a trash bag goes. Then stuff away!

So sad about the draft horse. Wouldn't anyone adopt her and work on building her trust? Keep her mildly sedated to treat her cellulitis? I have had cellulitis twice in my foot abd lower leg, both from gardening accidents. The first time I had IV antibiotics and the second oral antibiotics. I know humans are different to horses, but could that be an option?
I wish I was in America, I would have adopted her. I know it's no quality of life being like she is, but cellulitis is so painful too, That will make her kick out too.
I know you are all amazing and are doing everything you can. I just wonder if someone had time to give her 24/7 if she would become tamer

I missed the live with Pauly and I had a question. I have a mare that has thin soles and has had her whole life. She has chronic abscesses this past year. She is barefoot and under the care of a vet. I am not sure my farrier is doing right by her. What would he suggest I do for her?
