  • In this episode of "Barn Find Hunter," Tom teams up with Davin Reckow, from our "Redline Rebuild" series, to unearth a large collection of forgotten classics. This find didn't come easy. After a fair amount of investigative work, Tom finally locates the owner, who allows us to roam the property in search of treasure. Why is Davin along for the ride? Watch until the end and you may find a clue.

@@roosterrancher3558 Even if they do get paid, if Tom did not have the right attitude, he would have to pay them more to let him in, assuming they let him in at all. Also, most people would probably not be too keen on having the whole world see their property. Surely their neighbors will recognize it. Therefore, payment for permission to roam their property and film a video is appropriate imo.

Wow what a great episode Tom. I've watched all of your videos and you can really see the effort in the production and how much the quality has improved. You and your behind the scenes team are now producing better content than what you would see on TV these days especially that you never skip past the back stories about how the owners got these cars.

This video really takes me back. 1961 Robins A.F.B., Ga and I'm 14 years old. A friend who is 16, just got his license and gets to drive his Dad's 1957 Oldsmobile, 2 door, white, white interior tons of chrome on the dash, a stiletto gear shift. He tells us the S on the shift pattern meant Super, who knew back then it was second gear. We drive out SAC road ( anyone from Robins during the early sixties know SAC road) a long stretch of blacktop straight out through the swamp to the B-52 base. He stops repeatedly and burns the tires, I remember distinctly the swooshing sound from the exhaust, like a jet engine. I don't remember how fast we drove, but fast!! The fifties and sixties had such great cars, I cherish the times riding in them and owning quite a few. Great video. Tom is a class act, gracious and friendly. I'm not surprised he is welcomed on the property. So sad about Amy's father.

Hi guys, super video had me on the edge of my seat. Don't know how many times i said WOW!! Thanks Amy for showing us the fruits of your dad's labors over the years. It would be great to see what becomes of these cars and of course, when Amy gets to drive her Merc again. Good luck to all. Stay safe guys and keep up the good work. 👍🏁

Mr David, Hello. I started watching this videos yesterday. Love the show. Lots of info here for car collectors and mechanics. I love the way you treat people with so much respect. I love the way you get exited when you find a nice car. Now if you go to any South American country you will die of excitement I guarantee you. Thanks for these informative videos. Keep making them.

I love the 57 371 Tri Power Oldsmobiles and 347 Tri Power Pontiacs. I'd take one of them over any other car from 1957 but a Supercharged 312 Ford Custom or a 392 Hemi powered Chrysler 300

Please please ! Bring back that 57' olds to life.
Especially if it does have the J2 motor.
Such a rare car to see, unlike so many 57 chevys out there.

Would have liked to get a better look at that lamp shade in the front seat of the Olds, depending who and when it was made, could be worth big bucks. I read other comment suggesting she take her time , not get in a hurry. I agree wholeheartedly.

My wife's family almost gave an old lamp of her grandad's to a charity shop after he passed. No one wanted it and they thought it looked old fashioned and a bit tacky. I'm glad I was there to change their mind and take it off their hands as it was made from the hood ornament of a Pierce-Arrow.

I would hate to see any of those cars get crushed! So many valuable parts on the ones too far gone to restore. So many need to be restored.
There must be $250,000 in chrome trim there!

I get so many mixed emotions looking at all these wonderful cars. On one side, the cars we're seeing are really awesome, but on the other side a lot of them are in various states of disrepair, and I look at some of these cars and wish they were restored to their former glory and enjoyed. Thank you for the video's, I love looking at all of these cars and dreaming about what it would be like to own one of these pieces of history and drive the wheels off of it. :).

I had the pleasure of meeting Tim at Hershey one year and wow what a nice guy!
I’m rather height challenged and he is rather tall so we took some pictures and had some laughs, while I still on my toes and he stopped down to get the pics!
Tom was there promoting his book, so for those that would like to hear more of Tom’s stories he does have a book out! (Maybe a few books!)
But what a cool guy to chat with…
He was just as interested in hear of how we rescued our 1927 Buick and looking at pictures of it!

It can't be easy for Amy and her family to see so much of their life being considered junk and hauled away, but if a few cars can get saved and brought back to life maybe it'll at least dull the pain a bit.
