- Опубліковано 9 лип 2024
- Bouncing east, Tom Cotter hits South Carolina and debuts a new ride, discovered in a previous episode. He left his 1939 Ford Woodie Wagon at home and cruises around the Palmetto State in his 428-cid V-8-equipped 1967 Ford Country Squire. This time around, Cotter’s search yields a bounty of convertibles in one location, a one-owner Plymouth ‘Cuda 340 in another, and a shop full of Chevy's with a few Big-Block Chevelles.

That twilight shot with the 'Cuda, and the crickets in the background, priceless. Good work.
Pet cemetery
Ugh! That poor Cuda! That's enough to make you cry!
Tim A Same thoughts :|
Tim A. And we know he will never fix it another one lost.. I bet it was in great condition when parked there
Yeah poor cuda :( but perfect for roadkill ;)
I agree brother but she can be saved (and not just for Roadkill).
Dude in the episode said parked after 7 years in 1978 lol. I don't think he added that up very well.
Leaving a car out in the dirt by the side of the road for 40 years is the opposite of "being loyal" to it.
Watch out Tom the 428 Wagon is now the star of the show! Great series - as a Londoner who visits the States regularly I love the cars featured in this programme and appreciate the respectful and knowledgeable way they are introduced and reviewed. This programme is the best production of its type at the moment and the producers should seriously consider extending it. I even like the music and the guitar lick on the links.
Cuda is heartbreaking
I agree brother
Reminds me of how all us old folks that drove them are also sinking into the ground :)
I hate when people say "car has sentimental value, belonged to my father, or it has family value" if it was so sentimental and is so valuable why the hell is it out in the open rusting away? Damm
Don Omar Esparza dude I totally agree with you. Car could have been worth over 100k more than his his emotional value
My comment exactly, this Cuda he doesn't care about, it's a statement he's making, a very poor one at that.
Can't believe that Cuda was parked when it was only 7 years old
I can. Happens all the time. Especially if it needs an engine. These cars were not looked on as anything special back then. It was just another used car needing major repairs an owner couldn't afford and didn't want to sell. The back roads of our country are loaded with vehicles just like this. Plus the more mundane ones like sedans and wagons.
most dodge are
When you drove away in episode 13 I knew you bought the wagon.
How could you not.
Greg Garson Exactly my thoughts.
lol and mine , I'm in New Zealand and I was thinking "how do I ship it here fast" haha
I knew that wagon was going to be his as soon as he started gushing over it!
Love that 428 Ford Wagon! What a rare find
Trevor Willis
Actually, "rare" is not the best word to use, as rare means there are a very few others like it. The best word to use would be "unique", or "one off".
Interested in a 66' Galaxie 500 7 Litre? B&K Auto 234 West Main Burley, ID 83318 Phone: (208) 678-6047
MrGambler650 interesting,,, my Pharmacy School car was a 66 GALAXIE XL/4 SPD/352 BURGANDY:: anlucky Buy....I improved it quite a bit : bit was a great ride for many miles and years ...
that Stud truck is gorgeous...beautiful styling
I live near Tom and he came and spoke to a club I belonged to many years ago. Awesome guy. I am so glad he bought that wagon! Hope to see it around Charlotte. I'd love to trade rides with him for a couple hours.
That chevy guy is what a see when I think about American culture.
Wonderful
So he bought the Cuda, loved and and still loves it so much that he has no problem leaving it on the side of the road to rot. Then the guy with all the cars for sale that have new crate engines, never started. And others that "run & drive" yet they sit out with no windows, open doors and no hoods. So the weather, rust and time can finish what he doesn't seem to have time for.
Kimberlyexpects well a lot of cars are for sale you just have to ask
Kimberlyexpects
I have scrolled down and read many of these comments, and even replied to some of them. But yours is the first one to plainly observe these obvious facts. Congrats for your great "reality check"!
Kimberlyexpects I know so many old fellas who dont have much time on the clock an they wont budge on anything they tell me all this stuff their gonna do an 4 years later the grass an rust gets thicker lol but hey they worked hard for what they have but damn to see so many beautiful cars that will never see the day or go up the road one last time makes me cry
I discovered your channel 11:00 last night I stayed up and watched episodes till 5:00 in the morning good stuff 👍
That wagon was a great find Tom, I love it. I'm glad you got it and look forward to seeing it in future episodes. The exhaust sounded awesome in the beginning of the video. Two thumbs up!
Brian zzz
I love the uniqueness of that Country Squire. Awesome find
great episode ! I like that wagon your driving ! you have a great job Tom !!
The damn government should have bought that Cuda for him for sending him over there.
I have never seen a Studebaker pickup truck like that I absolutely love it
"Totally 100% original 53 Studebaker ".....knocks on door (looking for Bondo)...Geezus Tom you forgot to kick the tires too.
You bought the country squire! That's awesome, shows how passionate you are.
Great to see you come to South Carolina! I'm in Liberty just a town away from Anderson. Drive a 62 falcon, would love to have met you! Love watching these videos, please keep it up!
Crazy seeing them in the upstate. Wow so you have had the Falcon for awhile now Micheal. Lol cant wait for your next upload buddy!! You should see if that cuda is still there for your next big build after the Porsche. Lol
My friend has a 67 Corvette fastback that he bought new when he graduated from high school. He went into the Air Force during the Vietnam war. He still has the car covered up, and apart in his garage. His health is not good any longer, but he would like to see his car put back together.
Dave Wilson I'll put it back together if you give it to me haha xD
glad to see new episodes please keep em coming!
Dear Mr Cotter, You have the best car show hands down. and if I may, the information you give to all of us, is to die for, Thank you so much for your TIME and your input.Take CARE.
Cool old guy. I think he was happy to have someone to talk to about his cars
Sensational! I'm glad that one of one wagon has gone to a great home!!! Well done tom.
oh you actually bought the 428 country squire, awesome :D
Speaking of barn finds, I'm picking up a -67 Volvo Amazon tomorrow that's sat for 30 years in a barn :)
I love that Ford too :). Good luck with that Volvo!
Nothing Here thanks mate
Lycka till med Amazonen!
Create & Build tackar :)
Kick ass, great car to fix up :-)
I love that 67 Ford Country Squire!
that plymouth and that hudson convertible, i want both!
My grandpa was in the air force and raced brand new healeys in autocross while he was stationed in spain
Love you're Country Squire!
Grew up riding in the same model... standard though
In the mid 90's I was driving from Seneca South Carolina to Anderson South Carolina and I seen at least 10-15 acres of nothing but old cars but I have never made it back there
No way, Hagerty!
I've stopped dead on my tracks heading back to the office, as soon as I saw your notification.
Tom, I'm a Toyota Landcruiser owner and enthusiast. I have a 1974 FJ40 and it's a great vehicle to drive and easy to work on. The Japanese used the Jeep for inspiration and made them better. You should take a look at those once in awhile. They hold good value and in good condition can bring a pretty penny.
Yeah . . those short wheelbase cruisers are handy out bush , up in the Northern Territory Oz back in the day there were a couple with our crowd that had the Holden 253 V8 conversions . . there were kits to bolt em up to the standard gearbox's & also an Automatic gearbox/transfer case kit which was almost unbogable in the wet , the auto one got rolled by a mates son . . who was drifting it around a corner on the bitumen .
That Mercury is pretty cool!
He survived freakin Vietnam...he can do whatever he wants with that Cuda!
Hell could have built a lil car shed
Matt AdRev
thats treason no cuda should have to b put through that i dont care what he survived thats y these cars are so hard to find guys like this are gonna " fix em up one day" but they're way to old and instead they let them waste away to nothing it should b illigal
Nah he's a fucking idiot....
@@brandonar868 His money, his cars he can do what ever he wants
Yep. So why am I thinking that some group should put the shoulder to the wheel and make that thing all new for him. No one but the vets know what they lived through over there. No one knows why he parked it and left it sit. Might just ruin it to make it all better for him, though. Just thinking out loud.
I love that CUDA!!!!
crate motor, never turned in every car, amazing!
I Love that 428 wagon, it's soooo coool optioned up too, rare find knew u couldn't leave it behind
Tom's a great host, he asks all the right questions.
Man that 1970 Chevellle 454 4 speed is bad ass
When I was a kid and on vacation trips with my parents, my sister and I would count the number of four hole Buicks we saw on the road. You would be surprised how many we saw sometimes!
Good job at parking grand dad's Woody and driving the stick wagon! sweet!
That 340 duster is right up the street from my house , Friendly woods I stopped and asked about that car 16 years ago wow !
this kind of show , for a froggy like me , is like a walk into a gift shop's at Xmas when i was 8.Used to own 2 Buicks a couple of years ago , and miss them. Dream cars for a European.
My dad had an Austin Healey with the jump seats for the kids. He took me and my brother to see a triple feature with the top down at a California drive in of Death Race 2000, Logans Run and Rollerball. We ate pizza and popcorn until we were sick hah. Great memories of a great guy!
Thanks for bringing these shows to us. I'm a really big fan.
great video I would love to sit with mr. Jim and listen to all the fabulous stories he has of cars
Tom glad u got the Ford wagon, im a car guy and big fan of FOMOCO, i have been buying and selling FORDs most of my life. Really like watching BARN FINDS happy hunting.
Best episode yet. Love this show.
Love that Studebaker, '54 Plymouth convertible, two door Dodge wagon, Hudson, and 'Cuda. 'Cuda deserves to be restored!
My dad was able to get a new Mercury every 2 years, Colony Park wagons. The 67 we had was gold. I remember the trim thing sticking up in the steering wheel.
Can't believe Tom missed the Checker Cab wagon factory Limo. Two Jeep forward controls a '57 Belair several Ford bodies and a early Ford trucks more Jeeps. Then plenty of European cars from Alfas to a Sumbeam.
Jimmy Grant cad believe he past on d barn full of. whores that can still be driven
Good grief I love that wagon.
Oh man,you bought the Ford station wagon slash hot rod. Dude that was great seeing you driving it down the road. Didn't need to stay in storage any longer. The only thing is,someone may mistake you for Clark Griswold. The episode was fantastic too,as always. Thank you
Dang Tom, your job lets you find cool/rare stuff like that 428 wagon! I loved when you featured it! Good Luck!
Great to see someone else appreciating the Studebaker brand! I do have a 1949 Starlight Coupe for the last 13 years.
Tom.....I'm so jealous of your wagon! I saw ep. 13 , and knew as soon as you saw that wagon it was going to be yours! What a awesome, factory freak! I have a soft spot for station wagons, and this is a very rare one of a kind Ford! What a killer original sleeper! Love your channel, you've got a new subscriber here my friend!
the contentment of all those safe places and owners. I knew they existed.. but only in my dreams. Finding a welded frame truck and tripled stainless rockers is a good one locally. Would love to drive through sometime...and that cuda is restorable.
Like the tour! Thanks for posting!
awesome you got the 428 Country Squire, coolest wagon ever!
Amazing This guy has gold with those Hudson
how high are you? you seem quite spaced out
Enjoyed watching. Thanks.
That’s so wild, that Edsel lived in both areas I lived in, Hartwell Georgia and North Carolina
Wow. Pretty much every car you had on here I wanted to tell the owner, "wow, that's a nice car". Looking forward to the next episode!
Great episode and love that Country Squire!
Jim's old Buick, the Plymouth, and of course that Studebaker pickup were just outstanding in the first vignette. My aunt had maybe a '55 Ply sedan pink and chestnut color and she used to take my cousin and I down to the Jersey shore on hot summer days. We stayed in a teeny cabin her relatives owned that was primitive back then, must have been built in 1925.
Love the Ford Country Squire. My dad bought a new 67 Mercury Colony Park wagon (with the fake wood) with a 410. I wish I had it.
Awesome wagon! I remember the episode when you were in Detroit. Glad you brought it home.
I live right down the road from Jim! Awesome to see him getting around :)
Glad you got the 428 Squire !
A friend of mine owned an old StudBreaker like this and dropped a 501 Caddy and trans into it...If it had wings, it would fly!
I love the 95 Impala SS next to the Chevelle I remember when they came out , some one on my St. Had one .
Im working on a 1968 mercury cougar that sat for 28 years in the open, tortured by the harsh conditions of black berry bushes, and rain
Love the Country Squire, Tom - but please don't have a wreck! Great show, keep up the amazing finds!
I absolutely love that wagon.
I love cars I have an '87 Chevy square body I'm dropping a 383 stroker into it nothing like the nostalgia of an old vehicle
Why on earth did that guy turn his ‘cuda into a lawn ornament?.
You gotta find a classic surfboard or two, long board and classic short wave board for that awesome wagon..
Loving the reverse rotation flex fan on the standard rotation setup on the red big block chevelle convertible lol
we just love you and your show sir. great info great content all done with class and great people...hooked.. thank you for your efforts...well done...
Really enjoy this program and really enjoy the host as well, very down the earth.
love that Edsel wagon.
I knew it! You bought that Country Squire. Awesome decision!
somewhere a wife wonders why the milk arrives warm and the pizza cold.
69 Charger RT/SE 440HP here at the track 22 years ago beat by snowmobiles! now in restoration PLUS a 71' Challenger throwing flames off the tires HERE, BRO!! /w\ Heavy Metal /w\
Surprised you leaned on that FJ40 and didn’t say a word about it. Likely worth more right now in good original condition than most of the cars in this segment. Lol. That Cuda slowly returning to the Earth was hard to watch. :(
Love the Edsel wagon!
love the new car tom ... love this show keep up the good work
I am watching Hagerty in Poland! You're amazing!
My grand pa had 55, 56, 57 Dodges that had the vinyl trim on them like that Plymouth.
Tom congratulations ! ! ! your wagon looks awsome ! ! was an exelent hunting 👍.
Wow! That wagon is righteous. Never seen a wagon with buckets and four on the floor AND a 428. did you see the length of that shifter?
That guy did not pay 20 for that Chevelle. He was trying to sell it throughout that whole segment 😂
😂
Fitz 20 as in 2,000 not 20,000.
I doubt that he sells many cars? Why is there so many used car scumbags in the world? You can make a profit without screwing people! 20,000?
@@caseysetzer906 actually the chevelle is worth just that the way it sat .
Most likely its a 455 ls5 car with ac witch brings about 95 grand restored .
my first car -67 country squire had a 390 but top end was impressive ,never found another one like it
Tom!! Ya bought the 428 wagon!!! Good on you, Tom!! Way to go!!
Nice , you got the wagon. It's always good to see rare iron going down the road. Oh , just don't go through GA with a canoe on the roof of that thing.
When I was 5 years old I remember my mom drove us around in a 67 Country Squire. I don't think it was a 428 4 speed.
