I am a sixty eight year old hippie and I have always and will always Love Leon Russell and his music!! He is a treasure for all of us to love and appreciate forever! He is so missed in the wonderful world of music!❤️😢
A "National Treasure" he will always be! God Bless you Leon Russell and thank you for everything. Thank you for the music you left for us. Rest In Paradise 🙏💗🙏
Will never be another Leon Russell. He burned up that keyboard. From Tulsa to being rich in so many talented ways & a very special heart & soul. He will never be forgotten. 🕊️🥲🥰
A dozen years ago I taught a creative, bright and expressive teenager who I later realized was one of Leon's daughters. She shared that he admitted that he too had anxiety before he performed.......and that made such a difference to her. He was a Great father ...as well as a musical joy and inspiration to the world. Bess you Leon.
This is absolutely the best version of this song. He played and sang it many times in many venues. This is my personal favorite. The piano, his voice and we can see him without his signature aviator glasses. What a treasure to have it in video. I hope he’s the leader of the band and sound engineer in Heaven!
This performance shows every level of virtuosity that he had. Song writing, singing, musician, performer, even percussionist. I could listen to this a thousand times and hear something new each time.
My brother Danny Darling (RiP)😢 toured and played drums for Leon all through Europe, Japan, USA Danny went to be with Jesus August 19, 2023. Until we meet again ✌️love & happiness
GOD BLESS YOU. I saw them many times VA and MICHIGAN. Thank you for sharing g with us. BEST PART YOUR BROTHER IS SLEEPING WITH JESUS. AND WE'RE SAVED🙏✝️♥️
One of my favorite Leon Russell songs, the last time I saw him live he performed this song and I cried like a baby! He told the story of when and why he wrote it right before he played it. He said he had come home from touring and his then wife told him she wanted a divorce. He sat down and wrote this beautiful song and sang it to her! I'll remember that night the rest of my life, precious memories! ✌️❤️
When I look at Leon's face it looks like he was in a lot of pain when he did this song. That intense look in his eyes he was singing his heart out. Love this song. And this especially shows he was getting closer and closer to his God. Had he had his own church, I would have walked the path with him and I'm sure many others would. Down deep inside he preached. Miss you Leon.
Saw Leon in January in St Paul MN. Top fucking form, I'm 27 and by far the youngest in the crowd, 100 person intimate club. And Leons telling a story and stops and points at me and said that young guy right there is the reason I still play! I was almost in tears when I talked to him after the show. I told him I'm a Leon lifer as are my parents, my parents were playing the shelter people record in the delivery room when I was born. Hes my hero no one so elegant yet so bold, to evee walk the earth. I owe you so much Leon!!!
+Mike Endres What a wonderful story...I have only ever loved 3 men in my life..Jesus Christ, My dad and Leon Russell..and those are the only 3 I will ever need to love...Living in Uk and with dad now sadly gone, I fear I will only meet all 3 of these fine gentlemen again on the other side..love and light to them all though and to you too Mike..
+Pappy Reeves It's people like you that make me feel like it's worth it to take the time to write a heartfelt YT comment let alone even a simple one. So often we have to read the nasty hate speech typed by keyboard warriors and internet trolls. For the sole purpose of hurting other people to make up for there severely deficient self Esteem. But not here, never here. Leon Russell videos are the only videos/songs on you tube I'll even read the comments let alone post one. And thats because in this infinite space, and in this tiny frozen moment of time: peace, happiness, joy, kindness, respect, and love exists. It's as if the true master of space time, Leon himself personally deletes all the negativity. All the comments on his videos are filled with peoles wonderful memories and beautiful recollections of how this amazing man, changed, and continues to change lives for the better all around the world. We love you Leon!!! Love and light to you and to everyone!!!
I listened to Leon for the last 50 years. I saw him in concert many, many times. My brother lived a mile away from him in Tulsa, and yes, I was at this concert at the ripe old age of 16. Loved Leon like a brother. The Master of Space and Time.❤
I heard this song today for the first time. Moved me to tears, this is what music and life is all about. Thank you Lord for giving the talent to mr Russel. May he sing for Your throne now.
this showcases his talent in a stark, unique and unambiguous way. Songwriting, piano playing, how he manifests his musical skill to construct the melody to match the meaning of the song, the faith symbolism weaved in to the lyrics, a tempered display of emotion that is evocative but not maudlin, his personal emotional invenstment in the song that shows in his face in the time between lines - seeing this makes it clear that he was one of his generation's greatest talents, and it was a generation with a lot of it.
Who remembers the Uncanny Film Festival And Camp Meeting?Gailard Sartain Gary Busey LEON Sherman Oaks?MAZZEPPA Pompazoidi Teddy Jack Eddy. Leon etc...Tulsa Ok . WAY BEFORE SNL.??
I was getting prepared to go to my older brother’s funeral this morning. I put some Leon on UA-cam. This was the 2nd video to pop up. I was totally moved by this. I’ll miss always my brother and Leon. Great song, totally appropriate for the day I’ve been through today.
Clay Simerly , Hi Clay, Haven't seen you post anywhere lately! Please check in with your LeonLifer friends and let us know you are OK! Look forward to hearing about you soon!
My GOD I can NEVER get enough of watching this! It get hard to breath after watching this! Not only an AMAZING song but look who is singing it! NO one on the planet has the facial expressions like this beautiful man who puts his heart, soul and spirit into His music! Yes...Leon is INCREDIBLE! The master f Space and Time and music! He is the MAN!
I am 57 yr,old but love Leon Russell songs! I just watched his vdeo`s with my 28 yr. old son New generation of love for the old songs!!! Thank you for this video so that It can be shared.

Been commenting here for a few years . I knew Leons health was not good as of late. Im just a guy who heard Willow the Wisp as a kid in Oklahoma in '76 and became a life long fan . Leon was from Oklahoma like me and we all knew who he was . I will celebrate his life and not mourn ..that is what he would want ..sure miss you though.
my friend who taught me tons of songs was an Oky . Im from Salem mass sorry to say my friend and leon are gone but left me something too special for words
Saw him 7 times and he's truly an international music icon. Touched so many other musicians in his 60+-year career. Moved on in mind, body and soul but his music will live on forever. Love you my Brother!
Leon is one sexy, gorgeous, soulful, talented mountain man!!! like Dave Mason, his voice has gotten better with age.Oh yeah, this song, like all of Leon's songs, is incredible.
I recall listening to Leon regular in college in 1993 when I was forlorn. He always gave me hope in his lyrics. Now that I'm retired n older, I realize he was a man of faith n love of people n God. I didnt know that he had such faith back then, but now I do. Beautiful lyrics n music. Just like Hank Sr. A man of deep faith.
better late than never. Now go find out all the other stuff he has done. Lots of great articles are out there and lots of youtube videos. He was one of the best!
I just heard the news of Leon's passing and am deeply saddened by the info. I can't stop crying, my youth was wrapped around his music and especially his voice. I always felt so connected and will miss him terribly and forever...sleep well my dear sweet Leon!
Leon Russell was my first one true love in this life, his passing hits me deep in my soul. Go on, Leon, sing me just One More Love Song. Rest in peace. :'(
cdavydude You say that Leon Russell does not have what it takes to make it in today's music industry ? OK, I'm holding my sides I laughed so hard when I read that. Are you daft, deaf or just plain nuts ? This man is an American music legend. Not only is he a stand out showman in his own right, but he has played piano for every big name in the past four decades. And No, he would not disrespect himself nor his talent by lending his musical genius to today'''s garbage that's passed off as music. In forty years from now will anyone be playing Bieber, or Miley Cyrus' music ? Today's music, or what passes for music is all synthetic . Show me one person today who can even play piano in the neighborhood of Leon Russell's reach. My Lord man, you are completely out of touch with real talent ? The 60s, 70, 80s music is the music that will stand the test of time. Leon Russell will still be played by generations well into the future, as long as evolution has not completely eliminated the hearing process. I've read a lot of crazy posts but when you added the word 'talent' to your post, you blew it.
Plus Leon never met a musical instrument he couldn't play - he played a lot of guitar with The Wrecking Crew but also played pedal steel and I believe harmonica too. Who knows what else. He brought enough talent with him into this life for a hundred lifetimes. Gifted and warm human being. Monster talent!
Walking on the beach with a Brother, he said, Eternity is Heaven on Earth. I didn't believe him then, I had such few footsteps walked. This song took me there, where I need to go back to and needed to share the Truth about FOREVER. It's going to be all your brothers and sisters and child's in play right where it started to begin again when the Total Creation of this New Era finalizes each spec in ALL THE SQUIRE'S places for all belonging to THE POWER OF LOVE to be ever in the Peace of all understanding in Love. I see you play and remember the numerous Concerts at the foot of your stage, Leon Blesses my heart with his piano playing. Ilda, Mae West Granddaughter.
Such a talent! I miss him. Kind of rare to see him without his sunglasses, but I'm glad there is this recording without the sunglasses. ❤ Thank you to the person who posted this video.
Now here's a person who knew how to hit a bang box. Saw Leon in Detroit, MI back in the 70s and will be a fan forever. This planet lost a phenomenal talent when he left this world.
I was fortunate enough to be walking through Copley Square in Boston in the mid-90's and happened upon a free outdoor concert by Leon Russell. No more that 300 people watching. New Englanders aren't much on great music beyond Aerosmith. (The same friends I tried to entice into seeing SRV with me in '89 called it "hillbilly music") Thank God I am from Southern Illinois where we KNOW great music like the late, great Leon Russell
Leon was feeling no pain when he recorded this and its STILL great because its Leon...no substitute, no Karoake, there is only one. Period. I love you Leon!
I saw the Beatles at Shea stadium in 1966, simply great. Saw Leon in 1971 in Omaha, the best showman. Saw him two more times, and then In Orlando a few years back. Still the best.
He actually did play drums, guitar, trumpet and more. Read up on Leon. He was multi-talented, produced and arranged music besides all the other things we know he did. Amazing, unique artist.
Thank you Leon Russell for your great music. I had the pleasure of seeing you in a smaller venue a couple of times and still have some of your 78 albums. A true legend.
O dear sweet Leon," I'll love you forever til the end of all time". I miss your presence.........just knowing he was alive was comforting. You are unique, a genius, who said the truth about everything......."sweet Holy Trinity at the end of the line". May your soul R.I.P Leon and I'll see you in Heaven.
Only have Good to say about Pastor Leon, and his devoted flock. Leon's original and borrowed arrangements reflect the times and troubles we all faced through life. But it was inclucionary and real. Born Sinner. Hell Raiser and Saint, Just a man adding to and contributing to humanity the best way he could. A Classic Music Man for our short stay here on earth to listen, admire, appreciate and dream along with.
I'll love you forever till the end of all time Past all infinity, babe I'm dying To love you forever, oh, say that your mine Sweet Holy Trinity at the end of a line
His playing is so powerful. He may have been nervous before performance, but he was absolutely at home at the piano--always was since he was four years old. What a gift.
I’m 71 years old I love Leon Russell. This is definitely one of my favorite songs. I was so looking forward to seeing him at a little venue in Maine called Jonathan’s but two years in a row he canceled out rest in peace.
I’m trying to wrap my mind around the idea of genius. It wasn’t until I started watching these Leon videos and hearing folks talk about him that he was so prolific. And so richly diverse it was such a long long history. I don’t know exactly what the genius label means but I am literally flabbergasted. I’ve loved you for so long Leon, I’m surprised I knew so little. Please know how much Love you keep in our hearts and our minds. RIP
I hae one regret and that is i missed too many shows..I love him and his music puts a smile on my face like no other and I am GREATFULL we had such as Leon to be able to go pull up a great song even so many years older..i still know where i was when Lady Blue came out
I remember seeing him play this on TV in the mid 80s and being completely blown away by the performance. I forgot about the song until today when I was watching a session video of him and probably the only equally great studio musician, Glenn Campbell. Coming out of a break he was obviously discussing and playing this song explain a key change to one of the guitarists. Just like that the song came back to me and I watched this and was overwhelmed just like in 1984. A gigantic talent.
I will see him live in about 3 weeks! Have loved this man and his music for 45 years, but have never had the pleasure of seeing him in person. Beyond excited!
We saw him in DC a while back. Great show if that's the one you saw. He is coming to Leesburg Virgina next Saturday and we ar going again. This guy guy can still play fabulous piano. Nobody better in the whole rock school of music. You should check out the video of JJ Cale and Leon Russell here on UA-cam. I watched and bought it. A must have. JJ Cale was part of the Tulsa Sound that Leon defined. Two reclusive musical geniuses at their best. JJ's wife Christine Lakeland plays that one too.
I know some people may think this makes me sound old, but the musical talent of the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s may well be beyond anything ever achieved in that short a time period. I always tell people that my life growing up had a sound track. This is a song like a few others where I close my eyes and I am transported back in time. He was the musicians musician recording on something like 600 albums and demanded by every artist if he was available.
I am a sixty eight year old hippie and I have always and will always Love Leon Russell and his music!! He is a treasure for all of us to love and appreciate forever! He is so missed in the wonderful world of music!❤️😢
I just turned 68 yesterday, and I Love, Love him also! This song makes me all warm inside xoxo dawnie
72 here - he was a beautiful man...inside and out!
A "National Treasure" he will always be! God Bless you Leon Russell and thank you for everything. Thank you for the music you left for us. Rest In Paradise 🙏💗🙏
71 here and he still comes through!
What an incredible story...Thank you. for sharing this❤️

@@jackiesmith2801many people did that. As he once said, ‘it’s hard to be a frontman when you just want to cry all the time.’

R.I.P.
I am 67 now reliving my yesteryears
Probably my favorite Leon tune! So talented! He is very missed!! God Bless Him!!!!
This song never, ever gets old. I could listen to it on repeat when I'm having a bad day and it restores my soul. Long Live Leon Russells musicl!

You say that Leon Russell does not have what it takes to make it in today's music industry ?
I was blessed to work with him for two years
I love him
Plus Leon never met a musical instrument he couldn't play - he played a lot of guitar with The Wrecking Crew but also played pedal steel and I believe harmonica too. Who knows what else. He brought enough talent with him into this life for a hundred lifetimes. Gifted and warm human being. Monster talent!
Julia S He’d be too old
@@manuelcampos3525 Old like fine wine.
Beautiful piano hands......This is a taste of heaven.
Nobody sounds like Leon Russell!!! Thank you for lifetime & beyond of beautiful music ❤
Such a talent! I miss him. Kind of rare to see him without his sunglasses, but I'm glad there is this recording without the sunglasses. ❤ Thank you to the person who posted this video.
Hello Colleen 👋
RIP and Godspeed...and thank you so much for all the great music!
Now here's a person who knew how to hit a bang box. Saw Leon in Detroit, MI back in the 70s and will be a fan forever. This planet lost a phenomenal talent when he left this world.
Love this song so much, and love Leon so much too. There will never be another Leon
People in Boston don't know what they are missing.
he was a beautiful stranger in a strange land...so much love!
What a beautiful voice his sound and words consume me love you always Leon - such a beautiful face heart and soul
Leon was feeling no pain when he recorded this and its STILL great because its Leon...no substitute, no Karoake, there is only one. Period. I love you Leon!
A long time LR fan but ONLY heard this for the first time a couple of weeks ago...….cannot resist listening every time it shows up. Just can't resist!
sweet holy trinity at the end of line ...ill love you forever until the end of time
I saw the Beatles at Shea stadium in 1966, simply great. Saw Leon in 1971 in Omaha, the best showman. Saw him two more times, and then In Orlando a few years back. Still the best.
So cool to look into Leon's eyes, what a treasure that some press record merce merce merce
What gets me is he has perfect timing all the way through this song, and as a matter of course. He would have been a great drummer.
A true legend.
pure sweet okie soul and grit. no one EVER like Leon. love this so much.
True greatest! Thank you. May you be at peace.
Peace Leon, Thanks for the memories. you will live forever. See ya there.
Thank you for one more love song....I'll love you forever too.
Leon Russell Rocks....he is a magic man....listen to his songs !!!
Just a fantastic artist
True artist
Sweet holy trinity, master of space and time, so many ways to describe the indescribable Leon Russell.
What a wonderful thing Elton did doing an album together. And how lovely the way Leon thanked him at his induction to the HOF. Elton idolized Leon.
An amazing performer.. I have been fortunate to see him back in the 70s and 5 times before he passed away. A very sad day..
I'll love you forever till the end of all time
Past all infinity, babe I'm dying
To love you forever, oh, say that your mine
Sweet Holy Trinity at the end of a line
His playing is so powerful. He may have been nervous before performance, but he was absolutely at home at the piano--always was since he was four years old. What a gift.
I can sit here and listen to this every day so pure and correct cause he is the master of his own time . life comes full circle ..
Love Leon forever, always have from first time I heard Carney in 1970's. God's blessing' for our listening pleasure he is!
1975I remember his song Lady blue. I was about 15, that song mellowed me out. When I had anxiety, I would just listen to Leon💛
Hooked on this song for the last month, Thanks Leon for so much great music.
Hooked forever!!!!!!😊
Oh, Leon. We'll miss you so much.
RIP
How the rumble of those keys stirs the soul. "Well, baby I'm trying."
Saw Leon in Portland at the Alberta Rose. He will live forever in my heart.
Leon is irreplaceable, my first album was Willow the Wisp, been a fan from that day. Rest In Peace Leon, you made the world a better place!
I hae one regret and that is i missed too many shows..I love him and his music puts a smile on my face like no other and I am GREATFULL we had such as Leon to be able to go pull up a great song even so many years older..i still know where i was when Lady Blue came out
Love this song and Leon’s expressions are captivating. There is huge gap since he left us.
We will always love u threw infinity even in your words rip my brother , your music will always be timeless, rock on up there with the best of them,
Just saw Leon Russell live performing before a full house. Wonderful!
