    Hi,
    Thanks for the video. ...
    So I've been hunting for an idle issue....been through the whole situation in the last month. My M20 runs perfectly , but today I removed the vacuum line out of desperation! !!!! ..... and fuel came out of the regulator on the vacuum end....this is INCORRECT .....right???
    That would make it unmetered fuel supply correct?
    I agree with what you say : don't through parts at a problem......you will play hide n seek with yourself then!!! Forsure👍
    Hence I ask the question .... before buy a part...
    What is your opinion. ..
    Thanks

      Correct if there's fuel on the vac end the regulator diaphragm is broken internally and it must be replaced

    Hi I have a E30 320i I have done everything cambelt water pump all new intake gasgets and hose's but it is dumping fuel in like now tomorrow so much so it is going in to the sump and loads of black smoke because of over fueling could this be down to the fuel pressure regulator

  • @UniversaIClips
    @UniversaIClips 2 роки тому

    Hopefully i can get you to respond but after ruling out pretty much everything i finally checked my fuel pressure and it sits below 30 psi soooooo i clamped a return line and had no change in pressure and also pulled the vacuum line from the FPR and also had no change in pressure. So bad FPR ? i can’t see fuel drip but i can smell it from that hose. Also my fuel pump was changed months ago

    • @FLG13
      @FLG13  2 роки тому

      Crimping the return would essentially do the same thing as a fpr in terms of limiting flow to increase pressure. The fact that crimping the return does nothing (make sure you're doing a decent job crimping but don't go crazy on it) makes me think you either have a fuel pump issue or have an issue with the hose between the pump and hanger (possibly leaking causing fuel to spray inside the tank and going unnoticed)

    • @UniversaIClips
      @UniversaIClips 2 роки тому

      @@FLG13 would that mean i’d have to drop the tank to check the hose ? also how could i better test the pump ? i had both relay and fuse swapped around so those aren’t the issue . idk if this could be related but also my fuel gauge has read full since i filled it the day the issue started, after about a week of driving the gauge went down just a bit decided get some gas and it let me put like 14 bucks and then the gauge says full again. also when revving the fuel pressure does not change at all and it’s also a 1991 m42 just so you know

    Hey man, nice video. I got a question if you don't mind. For three months now my Rpm gauge will drop randomly and the whole car will shake well parked or stopped, then the idle will go back to normal, then randomly do it again. I have a new Delphi fuel pump, all new intake gaskets, O rings and vaccuum hoses,replaced the old temperature sensors last year , rebuilt and cleaned injectors, adjusted the valves, oil cap is only a year old, dip stick O rings are fine, Bosch O2 sensor is barely a year old, plugs are 4 months old ,and I've smoked tested the ol girl two times already. Any ideas because I'm lost and tested what I could think of before replacing anything, but im to the point that im about to start throwing parts at it.

      Tach dropping out not following engine rpm and the car cutting completely is generally the symptom of a bad cps or cps wiring issue. Assuming m20 You can ohm out the sensor to get an idea of its health, I can't recall the pins off hand but the center pin and one of the outer ones (forget which) should be 540ohms +-10% or if it's a 2.7 with bellhousing sensors I believe it's closer to 950ish ohms.

      @@FLG13 Cool, thanks. I put a new fuel regulator on my 1991 BMW M20 325i . What I noticed next is, the fuel lines at the fuel filter began to back up and caused a fuel leak. Does this mean back pressure from the rail? And If so could restricted fuel injectors cause this pressure back ?
