Quick correction: Those librams still drop apparently(though the quests related to them have been removed). Still interesting I thought, but not rare probably!
i introduced my girlfriend during cata and she kept a collection of the librams hoping they where meant for something, since they had class subtext in red for them.
The most treasured item I own is from Vanilla. Back in Vanilla I only had one computer and my daughter and I would take turns playing, but she sent me an in game mail with a shirt she made. So I made a copy of the letter and that shirt and letter are still my most treasured items to this day. :D
My mum has SO many letters from me to her in WoW from 2004! Letters like "I lov yoo! :D" with flowers bought from Stormwind vendors attached, and pink dresses I thought were pretty. She still has them all in her bank, funny to look back and read them from time to time. Glad to see someone else has the same memory! haha
My dad got me into WoW during mid vanilla-ish days and is the sole reason for my love of video games, i sent him little surprise mails for things like his birthday, he still has them on his main toon :)

It's Sony Vegas Pro 14(which is like 20 bucks in a humble bundle right now btw)...I recommend it!
Hey man great videos, haven’t finished this one yet but already liked 👍 Just wondering what was your main on khadgar and was it Eu? Because I’ve been playing since vanilla and was based on Khadgar from vanilla until Cata so might’ve raided or grouped with you before, was part of the night guard guild but only managed to clear BWL and parts of AQ40
Vanilla scrub story: I got the quest to confront onyxia in the throne room, and saw it was a raid. Obviously it must be the onyxia raid. I put together a PUG raid, shouting "LFM ONYXIA" and quickly assembled about 20 people. Everyone was really confused about the lack of onyxia killing in our ony raid
I think my favorite item that I've held on to for some weird reason over all the years, was the photograph from the Linken's sword of mastery quest. It was a photo of two gnomes standing outside Stormwind with a big smile on their face. For some reason I always liked it, I believe the quest is long gone, but that little photo is still a cool little Easter egg.

As someone who started playing WoW back in late februari 2005, this video is so nostalgic! I've always been a pretty casual player (mostly because of my fulltime dayjob), so even back in Vanilla my guild never raided anything beyond MC, ZG and later AQ20, but I still own or recognize most of the old items you've shown here (that aren't from BWL or beyond).

I had a letter in my DK's inventory for the longest time, and of course now I cannot find it. I had joined up with an old friend to help his guild progress in Dragon Soul for an evening. My main guild had long since cleared it and this was an alt so I did not see any issue with being saved and they were after a DK tank for the run so I decided to join up and help where I could. The guild members spent the majority of the evening yelling, not CAPSLOCK KINGS but literally yelling at each other. There was an abrupt end to the run to which I head people asking WTF happened and I whispered my friend what was going on and he asked for a guild invite. His GM had got so pissed off that he disbanded the guild, in the middle of a run. Now, I had no past experience with the other 23 people in the raid and to my knowledge none of them knew me from any other pug. I recieved an in game mail a few days later from the GM apologizing for wasting my time and lock out, which I had no issues with, and said that the behavior of his guild that night had just crossed the line one too many times. I found this hilarious since they were tame compared to my normal rowdy guild runs and they just needed experience on the fights but they just imploded.
I have that Competitors Tabard too. and the Spirit of Competition. I also have some mage reagents in my bank (that have become gray) that we dont need anymore. I have a Libram too, some scourge stones, Argent Dawn badges, I got so much stuff hoarded from vanilla.... :P
I was still using the olympics tabard 13 years later, I transmogged it to a TCG one, because it was so obscure and looked like trash. Its one of these "really rare, but too weird to explain" type of items that you'll never vendor, but arent really fit to brag about either lol

And what’s funny is I have never played the cata content.... my current main leveled in classic wow (during tbc) and I never went back to play the new content so when I see old zone I get confused. For example I just found out like 2 years ago that thousands needles was flooded...
You do realise that the game had to move forward and change right? one way, or another. also, people didn't leave after Cata, just because of that reason, people grew up, got bored, moved on, got married etc..
I don't know what it is about your videos, most of the stuff you cover is not new information to me, but something about your presentation is just mesmerizing. I love the Zelda covers and remixes you put into the background, and the little twist of humor you inject. This channel is my favorite thing on youtube.
All info aside, thank you for this unintentional ASMR. Your speaking tone, paired with LoZ flute soundtrack, was just so relaxing. I feel like I can sleep 😴
Stuff like this is what makes me reluctant to start playing WoW. So much cool stuff I missed out on. So much obsolete content. I really wish content didn't become obsolete when new expansions are released.
That was a fun video to watch. Reminds me of cool stuff from years ago. I came into wow at the end of vanilla. I often saw people dueling outside of orgrimar with rare items. I wish I had that cool Tabard but I was just trying to level most of the time.
I’ve binge watching your videos. They’re so good and nostalgic. Thank you for them and please keep them up. Formally, Bodazaphfa, from Shattered Hand...Vanilla.
The Furbolg quest with Dartol's Rod is still around. The only difference is the quest chain is more streamlined now and you lose the rod after the quest chain is complete.
Your memory from Vanilla , Tbc is amazing. Did some of the things you mention. But can remember 90 precent of it. Lvl:ed three chars in Vanilla. Paladin, Warrior, Rogue. Hitting lvl with my first char Paladin to lvl 60 felt huge. I guess I will never forget that feeling. Thanks for the vids and waking up old memories.
Sawbones shirt was a special item for me back in vanilla as my Shaman was named Bonesaw. It was THE shirt for me. I was also an early owner of the seal of ascension so I can remember being summoned to BRM many times to open up for groups waiting to get in.
I actually have a junk item myself! One of the Heart of Azeroth quests took me to the Druid Order Hall and it dropped a Void-tinged Rose. It’s junk worth a copper but I kept it. It’s just neat.
Lucky owner of a Vanilla Thunderfury since my guild was lucky enough to get 2 of them during our raiding time. First one went to the Guild leader and main tank which is understandable and I was not hoping for a second "drop", let alone be the recipient of it. I remember how salty people would tell me that this sword would be outclassed by blue drops in BC but turns out that the first true upgrade was from Mother Sharrhaz in the Black Temple. And it actually only resulted in Thunderfury moving from main hand to off hand... That item is so special to me and it's sadly what may keep me from playing Classic again... Thanks for all those wonderful videos, MadSeason. They make me warm and fuzzy inside.
I keep thinking that it'd be awesome if Blizz would re-introduce the old, unaltered dungeons & move the updated ones to an alternate 'Heroic' entrance.
Dude i have a lot of these on a very old char! Thinking back in time my stomach kinda hurts.. i was so young and innocent back then.. life flashes by... remember to love, people.
Shard of the Fallen Star was absolutely bonkers when people were goofing off with the "Shockadin" silliness that was around for a while because it scaled with intellect and eventually spell damage and healing during BC. Could probably still find some of the oldschool videos
It should be noted, that the Argent Dawn tabard was also available during the WotLK pre event at the end of BC. So it is probably much more common than the Tabard of the Protector. I still got both, the Competetor's Tabard and the pet, the infamous sawbone shirt, the spectral essence, which made the spirits at schlomance visible, the rune of dawn, and a lot of other stuff laying around.
i wasnt watching when you showed light of elune in the beginning, i knew it was either that or the sticky glue shit from that one quest lmao i had to rewind to see what was up. thats so awesome!
The problem with your videos is that I feel such a shock of nostalgia I just wanna fire WoW up all over again, sadly it won't be the same as I have none of my old friends who still plays it...such a bittersweet thing and I just can't stop watching your videos because of it. Keep making awesome videos man.
I still have my Haunted Memento, which makes a ghost follow me around and make me cower every so often. Someone told me that they sell for more than a million gold on the right servers now.
for me, my favorites I actually own were picollo of the flaming fire, time-lost trinket from TBC birdtribe boss drop, and rokdelar/lokdelar the bow/staff combo. the first two became toys in retail instead of trinkets and I've still got the bow on retail for transmog, even if I don't play anymore.
Nice to see another collector of treasures of old, some of my favorites that I have still include the Glimmering Mithril Insignia (1st ever fear trinket for blacksmithing), the complete Magister's set (non darkmoon faire version), The Ivory Raptor, and a love letter from a guildie who I am now married to ;)
Yes I do! I was in a huge rush to get my epic mount to join a guild on the server that required you have the epic mount and 300 first aid to raid with them lol we had several in the guild with it. When the new armored mounts came out you could trade your old mount in for a new armored one, only two of us in guild kept our ivory raptors and didn't trade in.@@Astronic
This video activated my fomo. Vanilla/BC were two of my most favorite expansions, stopped playing after WotLK and didn't start again until Legion. I have/had a lot of the items in your video, but deleted/sold some to free up bag/bank space. Now I'm regretting it big time, especially the Tabards... had no idea they would be "rare" now. :(
20 year sentimental packrat here. Tab of the Protector, Argent Dawn, Competitors Tabard, Seal of Ascension (some people sold unlocking but I gave it away unless they wanted to tip), Drakesfire Amulet (loved helping people do that chain and finale), Royal Seal, Dartol's Rod -never deleted it, still carry it and it still works and for longer than the toy. Did your realm have Furbolg parades in IF?, Sprite Darter pet (helped a lot of guildies do that chain) Various other things, original carrot on a stick, Alanna's Embrace; early BIS, 1% drop rate robe for casters from Raz Frostwhisper, a pink version of the white Mooncloth robe - matches perfectly with my Arcanists Regalia peripherals (shoulders, etc) from Molten Core. I get a lot of whispers about it :) and my Frostfire robe from Naxx. Also the trinket that let you speak with the dead at Caer Darrow. Which still worked as of 6 months ago when I went over to try it out. A lot of weapons, like Quel'Serrar, Various game mail letters from guildies (I was GM) and my kids who all played till college. Whew
You’re really my favorite content creator, all your videos are so well done and a joy to watch. :) I think the rarest item I currently own are a few pieces of the Defias armor set. Not too fancy ahaha
I love times when sometimes concrete item was required to specify dingeon part or raid entrance. It was more difficult and satisfying when accomplished.
Green Trohpy Tabard of the Illidari. Burning Crusade. That was a PITA to get. Still have it on my main. Ya, I did the whole Tier 0.5 quest line including killing Lord Valthalak. It is now on my old account, which my son uses. My little group of friends, what would become a major guild on our server through BC, had embarked on the questline. Hundreds of dungeon runs, building up the 200g or so it took to get the reagents, and we even hired the top guild at the time (Notorius on Gurubashi) to help us beat Lord Val. They failed to complete it. A short time later we were able to kill him, but we all died right as he died. We were madly rushing back to his room as mobs were starting to respawn and we got there right before the body despawned and claimed our loot to finish the chest piece of our set. It was one of my most memorable moments in WoW.
Great vid and nice stuff from a fellow rogue main! Makes me feel nostalgic. I give you credit for having kept those items from vanilla when bank and bag space was not as easy to come by. 16 slot bags were rare/expensive and the onyxia bag was indeed an epic drop. :). Love your vids, keep up the great work!
I truly love watching your videos. They're relaxing and I love when I have things that you say are rare or that you should just keep them for fun. I started playing I believe in mid '05..so it's also fun going back in time for 20 minutes or so b/c they game was SO much more fun playing up to the end of Lich King expac. It was personally my favorite expansion to date.. Have a good one. -Veezy
Just want to say that you're my favorite youtuber. You don't overdo shit like the other youtubers, especially wow ones, who stretch every "Potential" thing as far as possible to make long videos. You just talk about facts and cool shit from the game, and that's really what we want. Thanks Mad Season for being the best WoW UA-camr out there!
I'm a pack rat too, but I never was a hard core raider, so most of the Vanilla, or other older stuff I saved, is just silly, but they remind me of something, usually, that I enjoyed. I left before Cata, for quite awhile, I just couldn't handle all the upcoming destruction to my beloved Azeroth. So when I returned much much later, much of my stuff had become super rare. I wish I'd looked more carefully before dumping most of it, because I would have pack ratted even more lol. I have quiver, but didn't save any arrows or bullets, stuff like that. Lol and my first major guild had a Yahoo group, too. These videos are fun, thanks, as always
I was never a pack rat and ruthlessly pruned my bank of unnecessary items, especially ones that had no further purpose (still have the Medallion of Karabor for free Outland ports, for example, and I always kept all tabards, to match future gear). So I spent this video going "Had that. Had that. Had that. Had that." Kudos to you for keeping all of it, you should open a museum :)
Brings back the memories. I have a lot of that old junk on my vanilla rogue. Those keys. Damn. Jailbreak was the worst. I had perfected the solo stealth BRD runs for the barman and the coffer to make the head enchants. I still have some thistle tea, blind powder, thieves tools.. even a level 50 class quest headpiece, which just looked like a mask. It was either that or the slowfall cape or something, but I had noggenfogger for that. So much junk I hung onto. Vanilla WOW was amazing.
I've got the deathbone set from pre mop scholomance it's perfect for any and all of my dk's (about 20 spread all over) mainly fell in love with the idea of running around looking like a classic death knight.
I miss writing letters. I used to write coordinates to hidden areas around Azeroth and sell it on the auction house for around a silver. They sold, and I even got letters saying they had a fun time going on an adventure looking for them.
I’ve been playing since TBC so I’ve got, or had, a fair amount of cool stuff, but one of my favorites was being the first person on the Silver Hand server to unlock Zin’Rokh, Destroyer of Worlds via Archeology. My GM was so pissed that she and the Officers booted me out of the guild! 😂
wow so many memories and I'm nearly afraid of how many of those items are owned by one or more of my characters (or were owned...) ! great memoreis video
I found a letter on my original release day Hunter, letter from birthday 2007 or so my brother who played the auction house and made mega gold sent me a ton of rare and epic Hunter and Druid BOE stuff. I quit the game in 2011, but rejoined in Dec 2022, so finding that was quite cool. I have quite a few things from this list too, and I even found the Faded Photograph and a few of those Haunted Mementos in my bank, I only had three characters back in the day, but each of them is still around with all the old crap. I need to go through and look in depth at what other rare stuff is in their banks.
I watch or listen to your videos constantly it seems xD your azeroth arsenal playlist is my sleep mix :P ive seen them all a bit too much. but your voice is level and easy to listen to. both for sleeping and general consumption. thanks man
WoW changed a lot of things through the years. The unique things about the game that were annoying were removed. But the unique things about the game that were charming were also removed.
I have some of these items in my belf paladin and got them late wolk when I decided to get the loremaster achievement, though I have some regrets about it, I couldn't finish the AQ quest chain because I couldn't solo BWL and all my friends stopped playing around that time. Also, when I finally had the Loremaster achievement I received a mail from Cairne (RIP) congratulating me for the deed and I kept it in my bank, not knowing that he'll die when Cataclysm came and it's one of my most valuable item in WoW :D
Quick correction: Those librams still drop apparently(though the quests related to them have been removed). Still interesting I thought, but not rare probably!
I got a book with the blackrock illustration from killing elves in Netherstorm
i introduced my girlfriend during cata and she kept a collection of the librams hoping they where meant for something, since they had class subtext in red for them.
Ur vids are awesome
Interesting coincidence? Mad Season is a band as well. They're pretty good too.

I really enjoy all of these videos, thanks for uploading great content!
You are extremely helpful and I'm so glad you are putting up content and so detailed at that! Thank you so much my fried! Keep up the good work!!!!!
Thanks for the new video man! I like them so much :D I cannot wait for them every time to come out MadSeasonShow...or I can say HappySeasonShow lol
Thanks for watching Sion!
MadSeasonShow not that I finished watching, but I’m always grateful for you making them! :D
Your voice is so soothing I listen to it while I play other games and I never get angry. Thank you
It really sucks how much content cataclysm just.. cut out
That’s why I’m grateful for private servers :)
I keep thinking that it'd be awesome if Blizz would re-introduce the old, unaltered dungeons & move the updated ones to an alternate 'Heroic' entrance.
I'm ok with it, sometimes creating rarity reinvigorates the game!
@@Randall_Kildare You got it buddy!
The revamped old world was an actual case of “you think you want it, but you don’t” as it turns out
Dude i have a lot of these on a very old char! Thinking back in time my stomach kinda hurts.. i was so young and innocent back then.. life flashes by... remember to love, people.
The letters made me drop a tear :) what a nice item to save
Shard of the Fallen Star was absolutely bonkers when people were goofing off with the "Shockadin" silliness that was around for a while because it scaled with intellect and eventually spell damage and healing during BC. Could probably still find some of the oldschool videos
It should be noted, that the Argent Dawn tabard was also available during the WotLK pre event at the end of BC. So it is probably much more common than the Tabard of the Protector. I still got both, the Competetor's Tabard and the pet, the infamous sawbone shirt, the spectral essence, which made the spirits at schlomance visible, the rune of dawn, and a lot of other stuff laying around.
i have the vanilla furbog wand. Gosh i remember that I never abandoned quests back then and now i have something rare :D
i wasnt watching when you showed light of elune in the beginning, i knew it was either that or the sticky glue shit from that one quest lmao i had to rewind to see what was up. thats so awesome!
Madseason, you make the best wow videos on UA-cam. Nothing is more relaxing than a mad season show video before bed.
This got me emotional - I respect so much your inventory and past !
I had mine until start of BFA. Wish I hadn't sold it as I quit half way through BFA.
for me, my favorites I actually own were picollo of the flaming fire, time-lost trinket from TBC birdtribe boss drop, and rokdelar/lokdelar the bow/staff combo. the first two became toys in retail instead of trinkets and I've still got the bow on retail for transmog, even if I don't play anymore.
Wow... I haven't played in probably 6-7 years... I have most of these items. Thanks for the nostalgia!
Nice trip through memory lane. One thing every rogue needed during the leveling phase was the Red Bandit Mask. The lower the level, the better.
The shirt game comments reminded me of when I won Precious' Ribbon during my guild's ICCH25 runs. That thing was awesome.
Nice to see another collector of treasures of old, some of my favorites that I have still include the Glimmering Mithril Insignia (1st ever fear trinket for blacksmithing), the complete Magister's set (non darkmoon faire version), The Ivory Raptor, and a love letter from a guildie who I am now married to ;)
Do you really have the ivory raptor? Must be the most rare mount in the game. Never seen anyone with it.
Wow that's awesome! Really jealous!@@nevermore3928
That slow-mo oof was my life
This video activated my fomo.
Whew
Good stuff man. Nostalgic. Thanks for making it.
16:11 - Very funny, Madseason.
Ahh some good nostalgia there. Especially the key to unlock Blackrock spire.
I always watch you on my 2nd screen while playing classic. Its lovely.
seeing you talk about the aq opening as something in the past made me smile, we just opened it last night on my server. classic rules.
This was such a nostalgia blast! I remember so many of those little quests and items :)
You’re really my favorite content creator, all your videos are so well done and a joy to watch. :)
I think the rarest item I currently own are a few pieces of the Defias armor set. Not too fancy ahaha
Hehe that Light of Elune, yep, I remember carrying that thing around with me for weeks, waiting for the right time to use it.
Man I wish I was there in the glory days but I'm still glad I'm getting back into WoW again thanks for showing us this neat shit man
Man this was lovely, im 40 and haver only played classic and vanilla, but your bag of memories is so similar to mine it's silly.... So many memories.
I'm so glad your doing these videos, your bringing back alot of wow memories thanks very much.
Wow, this video takes me back, I remember many of these, but don't have em.. awesome!
The Shard of the Fallen Star still drops today, I was running for TMOG recently and got one off trash. It's still really cool visually.
Lovely. The letters were humbling.
I so love that every item has a personal story.
I've been playing since 2004 and you're making me feel awesome that I actually have most of these items. I have no idea why I kept them.
I have never really played wow but ive watched all your videos. Thanks for the top notch content!
-Veezy
I really like your commentary, I quit playing WoW YEARS ago but it's still interesting to me.
Entertaining vid! Love hearing about the old treasures. I think my favorite is probably my Illidari Tabard from BC.
I wonder what the rarest one is? I know there was one for an old pvp competition back in the day: www.wowhead.com/item=19160/contest-winners-tabard
Your videos are just so great, and watching them has made me appreciate WoW in all its forms just that much more.
I've got the deathbone set from pre mop scholomance it's perfect for any and all of my dk's (about 20 spread all over) mainly fell in love with the idea of running around looking like a classic death knight.
Great stuff Mad. You always deliver my friend!
I miss writing letters. I used to write coordinates to hidden areas around Azeroth and sell it on the auction house for around a silver. They sold, and I even got letters saying they had a fun time going on an adventure looking for them.
My wow classic bank is full of tons of cool things that either can’t be replaced or are just neat haha
I always enjoy the music you have. See you in classic, good sir.
I watch or listen to your videos constantly it seems xD your azeroth arsenal playlist is my sleep mix :P ive seen them all a bit too much. but your voice is level and easy to listen to. both for sleeping and general consumption. thanks man
MadSeason your videos is so good quality and so enjoyable to watch, ty dude keep up this qea
