    The reason for rolling the dishwasher safe mode podge is so you don't get bubbles! Thank you this is a great video!

    Girrrrrl, you've answered my prayer. I do not like the mod podge sealer because it ends up looking like mate paint instead of glitter. today, I just said I need to UA-cam someone doing an analysis of the sealers and I found you. So thank you so much for this tutorial. I appreciate it. I'm going with triple thick. :-)

    I just got in to doing wine glasses and stuff a couple months ago. I just got a turner and started doing epoxy now too. I have been looking for a video like this since I started. So, thank you so much for doing this! I watched your wine glasses with the triple thick yesterday. They turned out amazing! I have put vinyl on mod podge, then just put a couple layers of mod podge over it, before I got my turner and the epoxy, and it does look nice. Nothing like it does with the epoxy, but it does work. I have also used the super gloss mod podge, which looks a lot like the triple thick when you're applying it. I don't know how they would compare to each other though. So happy I found your channel! Thank you for all the tips and beautiful ideas! Can't wait to watch more!

    Hi Monica! I used the Triple Thick for projects I made for Christmas gifts and they were beautiful! I wasn't comfortable using the epoxy method since I'm a beginner so thank you for introducing the Triple Thick on your channel!

    Thank you for doing this comparison. I want to do tumblers, but I will not use epoxy, but want the look or as close to look of epoxy. I use Triple Thick now and multiple types of Mod Podge as sealers. I love your work!

    Also in regard to bright tone I found that at 4 Coats I lightly sand with 400-600 then 4 more Coats Between every coat I dry it with a small area heater 30 minutes spinning, which is probably the equivalent of a blow dryer. It sets up much harder and after about a week or 2 it seems to be harder as well. So it does have a delayed curing time . brings it up to a much harder surface and then the shine comes as well. Triple thick is exactly as the name implies so basically you add 9 Coats on the triple thick cup. And as you mention you have used brute tone before with plastic as well... as I do, with clear plastic and it does set up well. I also find that modge podge is quite dull but for durable usage... hand washed as well as the left in a sinkk and they are still like new, after 6yrs.

    I would love to see the wear and tear on these and also which of these are actually food grade safe? I am not a fan of dishwasher mod pod he. It does matte, leaves brush marks and takes 28 days to cure. Triple thick was definitely my favorite of the 3. Thank you for experimenting and sharing with us!!

    • @Oonagh72
      @Oonagh72 3 роки тому +7

      Crystalac is supposed to be food safe. Also food safe and dishwasher safe are two different things. The Mod Podge says it is not food safe. Spray paint is supposed to be food safe after about 7 days. I think I may try 4 layers of triple thick and one layer of glossy spray paint and see what happens. However that will have to wait until it warms up outside.

      @Hope Schuessler, I'm having the same issues sealing a mug with vinyl. Most videos say use Mod Podge, but I hate the brush strokes and it's peeling off. Idk what to use instead.

    That was a great video 🙌🏻… I’m learning to see what’s out there that’s non toxic to use that’s comparable to epoxy….so far I’ve started tumblers with modepodge and finish with Brite Tone …which is a wonderful product and I get a beautiful glossy finish with a total of 10 coats sanding every 3 but that Thriple Thick looks interesting

  • @zoarfreeman4334
    @zoarfreeman4334 3 роки тому +6

    Yes, please add vinyl. I use brite tone all the time and it is definitely a time consuming process, but in the end, you get a beautiful shine even better than the triple thick. The shine will rival an epoxy cup. I'm going have to check my triple thick because mine is so thick it doesn't go in smooth at all, so I stopped using it. It may just be my technique too

    Thank you so very much! I have been using epoxy for tumblers but have been curious about these other ways of doing it. I will stick with epoxy. One thing I am curious about is the difference between vinyl and waterslide. I see you use vinyl... have you tried waterslide before? I use vinyl and have been wondering about waterslide but can't seem to find an honest review of how it works.... I feel like you are so trustworthy with your videos and thats hard to find! Thanks again for this video!

And then apply 3 or 4 coats of triple thick? Sorry too many questions 😅, someone had recommended me Crystalac for the glitter so I'm trying to figure it out what is better, thanks!

    From what I've learned from Brite Tone users and Crystalac, Brite Tone needs 12 or more thin applications but is a great alternative for those of us with an epoxy allergy. I plan on switching to Brite Tone soon but have so much epoxy to use up after I suit up with my ppe.
