Your video is so good!!!! Thorough and informative but not a lot of extra fluff:) I built myself a cup spinner and then never used it because I decided epoxy wasn't for me (except in small pendants, etc.). I am going to try this method with Brite Tone! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for sharing I started trying with epoxy and decided I could not use it, been doing sublimation tumblers, I really like your video very helpful will try this over the weekend thanks for sharing
Melissa you are the most thorough crafter that I've watched. You give great step by step details. I love watching your videos. Can you please do a video on using alcohol ink or something similar to get the swirl effect? I know you've done one for the marble effect but I just love how alcohol ink swirls with the white or black swirls looks. I am afraid to use epoxy so an alternative using BriteTone would be awesome! Thanks!
Hi Melissa. Your tumblers are beautiful. I want to start making these but I can't find the tumbler hand and the inserts to hold the tumbler. Could you please advise. Thank You. Jackie
Thank youuuu so much. From start to finish I would say I can finish a tumbler like this is 4-5 days . That’s if I’m on top of it and staying on schedule with the coats .
I'm so happy I found your page and this video I've been wanting to use scrapbook paper on tumblers but wasn't sure how to. Are you using the thinner scrapbook paper or the thicker one?
Absolutely love your videos. My question is do you sell these? If so, because it takes days to finish are they worth the time to make? They are beautiful but don''t see how you can make any money. Do you just do it for personal gifts? Thanks
Thanks so much! 😊 you can definitely make money selling tumblers. Although these take days to make..you can make multiple tumblers at the same time (Depending on the amount of spinners you have). I’ve seen people work on over 10 cups at the same time. Which typically sell for around $45-$55 each. Sometimes maybe more. It just honestly depends on the time you have to put into it. Hope this helps 😊
Yes, I agree. The market is SATURATED with lots of people making these. I would find it hard to believe that they are still selling fir $45-$55. Plus how long does it take to sell? You also have to consider the holding costs. I doubt they fly off the shelf. I hope I am wrong, but doubt it.
I’m wanting to get into doing these cups and I have a question, are you able to just use regular paper like if I I print something out can I use that also?
Yes. You could. But depending on the type of printer you’re using.. you might have to seal the image before the top coat to avoid any bleeding of the image
Hello so I have one of those water bottles from Walmart that are like $1.00. I had plans to spray paint it black and then add glitter to it seal with a spray gloss and then add a water Decal to it. Will brite tone work well to seal the whole cup to have that beautiful glossy finish once it is cure. Since I am pregnant and I have 1 month left, I do not want to use epoxy to sela it because I have read a lot of health issues that people have had with it. Please I am looking for an alternative to have my cup still have like this nice glossy look just like how cups do with the epoxy. Will the Brite tone be good to use for what I plan to do.
There is a white option for the tumblers you use. Would they work instead of having to prep and paint the stainless ones? How many coats of Brite Tone total did you do? Thank you in advance for your help. Love your videos!
Thank you! 😊 If you are talking about the pre-prepped tumblers that you can purchase on websites like thesteelmagnolia.com then yes you can use those. Those come sanded and spray painted. There’s the ones that you can find at retail stores like Walmart that come in different colors and those won’t work. Those come powder coated and won’t work well with brite tone. On this tumbler I did about 12-14 coats on it.
I have a cup edger from Wicked Shimmer. I was thinking that if you set it to the lowest level, it will trim off a tiny bit to expose the steel. And when u add "epoxy" it will seal. I only use epoxy, so it will be the equivalent of this non epoxy system.
Hi I'm confused you say epoxy free but mention in the comments using epoxy to seal the rim. Does Brite Tone hold up long when using alone? Do you seal with epoxy?
Someone else made that comment about using epoxy to seal the rim.. not me. I only use brite tone. Brite tone does hold up long.. it hardens while curing. I do not use epoxy.
It’s not epoxy. Its completely non toxic and safe to use indoors. No PPE (personal protective equipment) needed. The only time you would need PPE is when sanding.
You could if you want to . Just do your research on epoxy before using it. Epoxy requires personal protective equipment when using it since it is chemicals that will need to be mixed.
This is the most prettiest tumbler!! Great job and thanks for sharing!

How did you build one?! Was it cheaper than buying one for $20?? So cool?

Beautiful cup.
Thank youuuu so much 😊
Love it
Do you dry the tumbler while spinning for three hours?
Quick question I make tumblers but I sublimate them I was wondering can I still sublimate the cup and put the epoxy clear coat on it?
I do know that you can epoxy over a sublimated cup.
First let me say, your work is beautiful. Second, on average how long does it take for you to complete something like this? From start to finish..??
Thank youuuu so much. From start to finish I would say I can finish a tumbler like this is 4-5 days . That’s if I’m on top of it and staying on schedule with the coats .

depending the style. there are some that sell for up to 150-175 if they are blinged out with a design as well!

Hi ! What type of material is the water bottle?
@@MelissaCrafter sorry for late reply it is the dollar water bottles from Walmart that are colored already.
Is it dishwasher safe😁

@@MelissaCrafter 12 14 coasts of brite tone
Hi,
Would you also sand a acrylic/plastic tumbler down as well?
After multiple applications?
Did you prep this cup first with sanding and paint?
I did sand the cup and then painted only the areas that were stainless steel after adding my v split .
How do you do the rim to prevent from coming off?
I have a cup edger from Wicked Shimmer. I was thinking that if you set it to the lowest level, it will trim off a tiny bit to expose the steel. And when u add "epoxy" it will seal. I only use epoxy, so it will be the equivalent of this non epoxy system.

could you have used a tumbler cutter to trim your rim?
Yes you definitely can.
I love this. . i have that paper roo
Wondering if there's a better adhesive. I've watched a ton of videos and they all have eproductive harm warnings.
When sealing with BT, do you go all the way up and over rim?
I go all the way to the top but not over the rim.
@@MelissaCrafter I am concerned that liquids will seep in if BT does not make contact with rim of cup.
Can htv be used like this prosses?
Tia
I believe you can . I would have to do research on how to do that and get back to you 😊
What are using is not epoxy can a 14 year old use it is it safe to use in the house or is it harmful
It’s not epoxy. Its completely non toxic and safe to use indoors. No PPE (personal protective equipment) needed. The only time you would need PPE is when sanding.

LOVE THIS!!! Have you made a glitter pen with scrapbook paper? I'd love to see that!
Thank you! I haven’t but the process will be exactly the same 😊 I’ll work on a video using scrapbook paper on a pen 🥰
Great tutorial but she seems to be in such a rush! Xx
