I love this mod. It's allowed me to realize some of my more insane missile/weapon designs. For awhile now i wanted to build an interplanetary ballistic missile to attack my buddy's base on earth and every time i'd go to do it i'd get discouraged by how weak the stock space engineers warhead is. I mean, what's the point of building a missile the size of a 15 story building if the warhead isn't powerful enough to wreck the entire biome it lands in?
@@manitoba-op4jx Pretty much. Which is why this plus kinetic devastation is so awesome. You really get the feeling you're unleashing Exterminatus on some fools.
This mod is a must... simply love it. Works very well combined with the other mods of the same author, like Kinetic Devastation. Thank you, great Job!!!
@@Darkside7672 I didn't show it in the video, but the small-grid variant already exists. It looks the same at the large-grid one and has the same blast radius.
The default cap is 500m radius, but you can change that in the Config.xml for the mod per world. There is no real limit to the radius of block or voxel destruction if you increase the associated config values. The particle effect will only scale up to 500m, though, so even larger explosions can destroy things beyond the size of the visual effect. The only real hard limit is how much your computer can handle.
Been waiting to see someone deploy this nuclear weapon against a force field, two weeks later, there are still only two videos of this mod (of a, if not thee, most anticipated feature) on all of Space Engineers UA-cam. I was expecting a flood of new Space Engineers videos. Does it not bend or blow away enough trees and push lose vehicle and debris or cause varying degrees of damage depending on if it's a direct hit, within the fireball itself or just the shockwave area or something? Is it too loud? Does it need radiation? I thought it was pretty cool even without all of that but even Last Stand hasn't talked about Space Engineer's first nuke. If only I didn't live in a car, I would showcase this myself.
For what it's worth, the explosions did not interact with the shield mod properly when it was released (shields were ignored completely), but I updated so that it did about a week ago.
@@echthros91 Glad to hear it. Also, I just noticed the turtle ship in this video 2:47, at least, did get pushed away by the shockwave at a good enough distance, so it seems pretty sufficiently nuclear for Space Engineers to me. I'm guessing trees being uprooted would be too difficult but radiation might help.

(edit, my math is wrong see replies for the correct number) The bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a blast radius up too 12 miles, destroyed everything within 1 mile, heavily damaged everything up to 3 miles and light damage up too 12 miles from point of detonation. So if someone wished to make a more realistic bomb with realistic blast radius using this mod you would need around 16 Thermonuclear warheads for 1 mile, and x3 for around the 3 mile radius which is 48 warheads if I did my math correctly. A mile is 1609 meters, the blast radius of 5 thermonuclear warheads is 513m, 513m x 4 = 2,052m or 1.27 miles, 2,052m x 3 = 6,156m which is 3.82 miles. Which will put it just above the destruction of Hiroshima for heavy damage. Also modern nuclear bombs can be as much as 3,000 times more powerful then the Hiroshima bomb aka Little Boy, so around 144,000 Thermonuclear warheads from this mod.
Radius scales with the cube root of energy in this mod, so using 3 miles as the target radius (~4.83km) would require about 112,678 Nuclear Warheads or 4,173 Thermonuclear Warheads.
you know..... ive always wondered why there was no nukes in this game since all the players and npcs are humans..... ohh!! nvm there it is!! good old ima melts everything in a certain radius weapon XD
player can’t not go there until next day because radiation and if players want to go there need a radiation suit unless he going to die it just recommends if you want
@@spacereavers1254 Space Suits are very rare, fragile, and extremely expensive and are not especially effective against the sources of radiation found at Chernobyl. With the number of workers needed to mitigate the incident providing them all with space suits on such short notice would be unfeasible. However, some workers were provided with hermetically sealed clothing and masks to block alpha particles and radioactive dust and people in especially dangerous environments blocked radiation with improvised lead protection. However, interestingly enough the soviet union did attempt to use space probes to accomplish activities in extremely high radiation enviorments.
@@scopsins5630 Not to mention the amount of Gamma radiation exposure in Chernobyl was extremely high, space suit would only help for a short period of time before it becomes contaminated, just like all other suits.
Pretty cool Mod. The only thing that i dont like it, the explosion visuals just gets bigger and bigger and but no different effect. Its a cheap 2D explosion effect wich just scales with the radius size.
There are 7 unique explosion effects for both in atmo and in space for a total of 14 (50m, 100m, 200m, 300m, 500m, 900m, 1500m). The effects cannot be scaled up simply without distorting them. The timing and specific sub-effects also differ as they go up the scale.
@@echthros91 all i see is the same 2D explosion effect but just bigger everytime. I think my eyesight is good enough to see when a 2D effect is placed in a 3D game. No offense, is just my oppinion on that

Would it be possible to do a video of the insanity that nuclear weapons and kinetic destruction could do together.
I may revisit that. I have some other videos that need to go up first, though.

incredible work !
can we get this on xbox? please?
Can u fire nukes from hand rocket launchers?
Yes, from the PRO-1.

Yep, radiation at a nuclear blast site is way lower than a reactor, except immediately after the detonation
