Marcel Boucher (Boo-shay) was a designer for Cartier who went to the States in the 1930s. His pieces, which included enamel, are very much sought-after, particularly his fantasy birds and other animals. He died in 1965.
Thank you Margaret. I recently retired on a low income and have been rattling my brains on ways to earn an extra $100 or so per week. I came across your video unexpectedly and had a WOW moment. Off to the library to grab some literature on vintage jewellery and also will be making a list of all the charity and thrift stores within my area.
I’m two years new to selling jewellery and I appreciate the video so very much because I never knew there was such a great website for such an informational site to see what everything is gems or stones or etc.. Thank you Margaret for this video. ❤
Hello, it's the retired homeschool mom with a daughter named Margaret and the son who I used to call my sunshine and singing the song, I wanted to thank you for the videos because I started losing my eyesight about 7 years ago. I used to make jewelry and for the three and a half months I totally lost my eyesight I started up again to see if I could still do it without being able to see, I had some nice results :-) but because of the arthritis in my shoulder and the bad eyesight I have started looking into selling other Peoples jewelry. These videos have been very helpful and I already have a background in sterling silver and semi-precious stones and Pearls because of my jewelry making experience so I'm really excited about this.
Thanks again for this evergreen video. When I first started reselling, I watched this video repeatedly. I got a magnet-and later a UV light flashlight-and started shopping for jewelry to resell.
I had cufflinks up that I couldn't give away. Several vintage pairs, in great shape, Swank, Anson etc. Lots of nice styles, mother of pearl, different shapes etc. No wear of the metal, all fully functional. I have no idea why they wouldn't move. They were priced in line with comps, I also ran sales on them, and sent offers when they had watchers. I sold one pair of them for 5 bucks after they were sitting for a year and a half. I finally took them all (about 15 pairs) and put them in a crafting lot to get rid of them.
I am so glad that I ran across this. My sister-in-law left my brother and left him with a humongous mess you cannot believe that one of the things with her jewelry armoire she did not want. It was full of things I can’t identify. Most of the stuff that was marked 925 or 14 karat etc I pulled the side and then there are some stones that I don’t know if are real. I need to just take it all down to my jeweler and ask her to identify this stuff because there’s no other way. I know there’s some valuable stuff in there. There’s broken chain and findings that are gold and silver and I just don’t even know what to do I am simply overwhelmed. A lot of the necklaces are junk and we’re probably going to get rid of those at the yard sale by the bagful.
Premier Designs Jewelry went out of business at the end of 2020. Of course you still find it everywhere. I have a lot of it that I need to list. I once sold Premier. It was a great company.
Thanks Margaret, It's really generous of you to help us with advice along the journey. I bought a stirling silver, celtic necklace to sell about 2 years ago and I'm still procrastinating. I just go enthused and gave it a clean before putting your clip on and realised I should have left at least some tarnish on,. I'm about to go and join the Texas Gal jewelry site too. Hopefully I'll get my act together and sell something soon. 😃
Wonderful video! Great tips! I'm getting closer to start reselling jewelry. For some reason it seems daunting to me but you make it look so easy that I am itching to start. I already have a fairly large collection of nice costume jewelry that a friend whose mom recently passed away just GAVE to me, so I'm already starting with zero investment. I have two of what look like garment bags but that are actually jewelry holders with individual pockets full of a variety of jewelry and I have bought a loop, so I just need to take the plunge. I'm thinking I'll start with joining your Facebook group so I can gain some more knowledge and support and then (Deep breath) take the plunge. TY for being so helpful to us newbies and wannabees. :)
This is the 1st time I have watched your video. I found it to be extremely helpful and just loaded with information that all of us can use. Thank you so much for doing this. when you are new at reselling any information you can get from an experienced person is just invaluable. Happy thrifting
TIGERS EYE, That’s what it is! 🤗 I have a set “ necklace and earrings “ to sell and couldn’t figure out what the gems were. Than I started watching you and BINGO! There you were with the word I was looking for. Thanks! You’re the best! Been watching for years!
I am selling some left over jewelry from my business. I was a mobile vendor for many years and know my jewelry. Mostly sterling, native American, gemstone and vintage. I am not having much luck on eBay and I see gemstone earrings in the 50-75 dollar range selling for $6. I do not want to give my jewelry away although I am willing to take less than tag value. I think my titles and descriptions are good and my pictures are pretty good. How are you able to sell your jewelry for such high prices? Is it because you have a store?
I sell a lot of jewelry it is my second highest category of solds on etsy behind general collectibles, I sell everything from costume to fine jewelry but pretty much stick to fine jewelry in the lower price points since I have to buy at auction, the thrift stores here no longer put out much or any jewelry and I don't go to Estate Sales much any longer, so I end up paying more for my pieces.
I buy jars here and there, sometimes a couple at a time from a thrift store. I've noticed that sometimes they will seperate earrings into seperate jars and once i found a beautiful pin of a one winged phoenix and i found its other wing in the second jar 😐 glad I found that at least, i love phoenix's
I watched you on box jewelry and the bracelet that has the little Mark in it it was you that pulled it out I like watching you and I want to learn how to sell jewelry myself what's actually my daughter
Rhanks foe this video, I have been watching your videos recently. And. Then would go out to look I. The thrift stores to see if I could get a good deal to resale on ebay. But was afraid to commit to go forward to purchase I was still lacking some basic I formation. And then you put this video out and it gave me the I formation. I think would make me feel more confident to go back out their and look for the tips you gave in your video..thanks again for teaching us that would love to buy to resale on our platforms. Keep them coming in hook!!!💜💎💜
I start my Ebay & Poshmark today, checking out What Not as some do great there as well. Any advise is much appreciated, thank you for the tips here in this video! I have about 8 tie clips as well as a few pairs cuff links. I am currently cleaning jewlrey and taking pics, have a few drafts ready to list once I get like 20 done today I will list all at once. I want to know if you use Ebay auction much or mostly buy it now?
Hi. I have a book that has all of the known marks in it. You had some famous marks here that you didn’t know. Such as Lang and Bouchere. Collecting Rhinestones & Colored Jewelry is an old book and probably hard to find. Over 150 pages, 13 marks pr page. Really a great book. Hope you can find it.
I've used dish soap water and soap and wash and properly dry and the shine really come back on dull items . People say its tarnush and throw it but if washed and dried it look New again
Margaret, I am just starting to resell and have been watching you and others to learn how, so that I don't reinvent the wheel. Thank you so much!! I thought I heard you say that you would have a link in this tutorial regarding how to tell if the jewelry is really silver or gold. I don't find the link, did I misunderstand? If it was not meant to be in this video could you supply me with a video in which I can find that info. Thank you again!!
Where do you order your goodwill blue box from. There are so many sightes have it. For instance Etsy has it and they have a list of people other places that are on have the site and I just I don't know them I don't I don't know how to use a computer that well so I don't know what's a real site and what isn't I wonder what you order from like who do you order it from
I bought a pair of earrings stamps 750 18 k gold and I got 350.00 dollars for them, I only paid 50. For them at a church sale European gold it is very good gold
I just sold some broken jewelry and onees ear rings. I watch flea market buying videos but here in Canada we only have these type of sales for about 5 months. Is there any other suggestion to where to buy for resale?
I want to start as I have a large collection to start with. But I'm unsure of how eBay works as I am brand new to selling. The packaging, cost of , how/when do I get paid for my items if sold? Lots and lots of info I am trying to research as my collection keeps growing.
The fact that she hearted your comment but didn’t answer your question made me lol. As far as I know you get paid as soon as someone buys, then you are obligated to ship. But I’ve never sold on eBay before. Just what I’m assuming.
Hi I need help like learning how to sell my jewelry and I don't know how to find out if there's a UA-camr like you that is around my area that maybe I could meet up with cuz I have like 10 lb of jewelry I wish you were around here I'm in Abington Mass near Boston

That bracelet could have been Boucheron, a very high-end brand. Some of their signatures on vintage pieces looked similar to that.

There is a jewelry vintage seller, mainly costume who claims to list 1000 new items weekly. How is that possible? Do people buy in huge lots upfront?
