So fun to hear you talk about Oceanside. I was born there almost 67 years ago. Have never been back but would love to. I'm happy that your channel is doing well. You deserve it.
Happy sunny Sunday, LK! I believe your home is speaking to you, and you are definitely listening! The picture frame with the green velvet trim is about 50 years old, so you scored with that one! Looking forward to seeing what you find to grace its interior!
Loved that carved Mexican cabinet! My home (Arizona) is rustic, saltillo tile with mostly 2nd hand unique finds, so I can relate to your love of treasure hunting!
I love the green glass bowl. I have a few pieces that are similar in style and are quite valuable. You should check the bottom for an etched makers mark. Sometimes they are quite small and easy to miss.
You're right. Sometimes it takes a while to get inspired to make a change to a space, and you never know when inspiration strikes or what becomes the piece that sparks.
I’m with you on the Mexican sideboard and the dark citrus still life. They’re beautiful. If I were out shopping at estate sales and thrift stores, I doubt I’d have as much restraint as you do, even though I have no more wall space for art and just bought a 1950s sideboard that I love!
I recommend your channel to everyone! Omg, if those places were near me I'd have to mortgage the house. The amount of great stuff is mind boggling. I know how it is when you don't buy something and think about it for weeks later. Groan!
Loved that Mexican buffet cabinet, would love to find some wooden coasters like you bought , now I will have something new to find, thanks, Have A Good Week
As one of your newbies, I’m so excited to be here! Your style is very similar to what I like and a great source of inspiration. Please don’t feel like you need to respond to every comment, we’re happy to just be here and say hi. 👋 I don’t know how the algorithm brought us together, but congrats on the new success!
I really enjoyed this video, so many cool things. I think old California diner an awesome vibe for the kitchen and breakfast nook. I love the colours in the artwork and it seems like it suits you well. I’ve heard San Diego is a really nice place to live, how do you like it compared to LA? Besides the flea market aspect. I have no idea being Canadian myself 😅
Thank you! I love it much more to be honest. So much is the same as but way more nature and clean air here. And the long beach flea market for example is only about an hour or so away so it’s not too bad to commute out there!
I also have those deer, original owner lol. Yes, I'm a dinosaur, but I own it, lol. So I admire your aesthetic, openness to a variety of styles, and your good "eye" for design. You also make great videos!
I was dying over all the art pieces in that second home! I've never been to an estate sale, are they normally that expensive? I am not saying the artwork isn't worth it, but it is almost unaffordable for normal people
Many times the prices are reduced each day (first day, full price. Second day, 25% off. Third day, 50% off.) so it’s worth going back to see if something you really like is still available.
So it varies from estate sale to estate sale. Also makes a huge difference which city you’re in! There’s an estate sale company out here that always has outrageous prices and another that I love that’s always affordable. You just have to get out there frequently to get a better idea! Some sales are 1 day and some 2 or 3. Some discount it 25% on the second day and some only 25% on the 3rd. I’d say I only really pay a higher price for something if it’s really worth it. I think the art at that sale was a bit overpriced and those lamps for example you could resell for quite a lot so $50 wasn’t bad considering you could buy a $50 lamp at Target that isn’t half as interesting. They are taking resellers like antique shop owners, vintage resellers, etc in consideration too so it’s quite a vast business lol
I live in East County San Diego and I really enjoy seeing the the places you go. Thrifting is my jam too 😊 I'm definitely igoing to check out the place near Liberty Station .
I love your Vlogs! I grew up in San Diego and we used to go to the Spring Valley swap meet. I don’t even know if it’s still there as it’s been many, many years ago.
Hey LK, I'm so happy for you with your channel growing. You seem so down to earth and sweet, so I'm not surprised. If you happen to see my comment . I'm realty trying to get to LA this year. I want to go thrifting/antiquing in La. I always see Drew and MaCenna go and we don't have good stuff anywhere near me in Central, Tx. I do try and catch estate sales now and try to get out of town to thrift when I can but I've only found some real big frames and a vintage mirror I got on an online auction but I really want to do a gallery wall and need some smaller ones. Anyways There channels are so big I know I'd never get a reply back but I'm wanting to know the best places to go while I'm there. At least the best flea/vintage market? They all seem to be on different weekends of the months, so I'll only be able to go to one I guess. If I'm looking for vintage/ornate frames. I don't even have affordable FBMP frames closer then 2hrs away, and that's for just 1 frame. The style I love in general would be like XOMaCenna's. I love the Olive Atelier and Golden Oldies type vibes but way cheaper.... Lol.
Perhaps the elderly lady with the carpet in her bathroom had originally been from the UK as most bathrooms were carpeted years ago (probably needed to keep your feet warm!) That could not be the reason in California! Thank goodness, for sanitary reasons, most people are not doing this now.
Yes and no. The sale day was already discounted 25% i believe so they probably would not have taken a negotiation. Maybe if it was the last hour on the last day and it still hadnt sold haha
Wow! Proof there's always SOMEONE unpleasable, no matter how talented and creative someone's content is. She has to have the BEST, most professional home decor videos on all of UA-cam, and she seriously deserves SO MANY MORE subscribers! After every one of her videos I've found myself in awe of how skilled she is at making them, so I can't imagine your comment is anything other than sarcasm or a joke, I hope anyway. Move your camera more slowly? Move your eyes more rapidly. If her content moves too quickly for you, I'd suggest adjusting the playback speed.
I cannot wait for the kitchen nook videos. The colors in that picture you bought are so cool!!
So fun to hear you talk about Oceanside. I was born there almost 67 years ago. Have never been back but would love to. I'm happy that your channel is doing well. You deserve it.
aw thank you! you should definitely go back but it’s been very gentrified haha but some of the new stuff is really cool
Glad your channel is growing. Well deserved! Can't wait to see what you do with the kitchen/nook!
Thanks so much!
Happy sunny Sunday, LK! I believe your home is speaking to you, and you are definitely listening! The picture frame with the green velvet trim is about 50 years old, so you scored with that one! Looking forward to seeing what you find to grace its interior!
Aw thank you!! I think you’re right!
I have those deer! Hello from Grayson Georgia, enjoy my Sunday morning coffee with you, thanks LK
I was hoping she picked up those deer when I saw the beginning....I love them! What a fabulous estate sale.
hi!! that’s awesome :)
Loved that carved Mexican cabinet! My home (Arizona) is rustic, saltillo tile with mostly 2nd hand unique finds, so I can relate to your love of treasure hunting!
oh I love that aesthetic! I’ve always thought it would be so cool to have a vacation home like that on some land :) it’s such an earthy style!
You are so deserving of all these new subscribers…I’m one of them! Your content is always interesting and useful.
aw thanks so much!
I've just finished cleaning my bathrooms and now I can sit down and enjoy your video 👏🏻👏🏻
❤️❤️
I love the green glass bowl. I have a few pieces that are similar in style and are quite valuable. You should check the bottom for an etched makers mark. Sometimes they are quite small and easy to miss.
Ohh cool I’ll have to check it out! Thanks! It’s such a cool look I love it so much 😊

You're right. Sometimes it takes a while to get inspired to make a change to a space, and you never know when inspiration strikes or what becomes the piece that sparks.
100%! I love being open to something new :)

LK YOU CAN MAKE THAT PAINTING
You are right. There were so many treasures at the estate sale. The side board was stunning.
I recommend your channel to everyone! Omg, if those places were near me I'd have to mortgage the house. The amount of great stuff is mind boggling. I know how it is when you don't buy something and think about it for weeks later. Groan!
Haha!! For real! Thank you so much 😊😊
Loved that Mexican buffet cabinet, would love to find some wooden coasters like you bought , now I will have something new to find, thanks, Have A Good Week

Every time I see the green glass vase with the ball top in your background, I want it! I'm always on the lookout for something similar.
it’s an italian green glass decanter! i love it so much! if you search for that term you might be able to find one!
I just started following you 3 days ago and now I see we're in the same city! The algorithm is wild.
That was fun, always interesting to see the homes for estate sales.
Ahhhhh, you make me miss SD so much. We left 10 years ago and we miss it all the time. Love your channel!
Thank you so much!! I left for 8 years or so and I’m so glad to be back haha
@@livingwithlkI bet you are! 😂
Thank you! As always great to see you and your findings! Great inspiration!❤
Great haul ❤ I have a similar green frame as well. I put a dark moody pear in it & love it.

Great video! My son just moved to SD so I'll tell him about the Sea Hives Vintage Market - website says it's every second Sunday of the month.
Love that thank you!
Love your style
I shop Goodwill on Tuesdays for senior discount if possible. Most of my furniture is $7- 25 range.
I am in my 30s so unfortunately I cant do that!
Just found you and really enjoyed this video.
Awesome, thank you!
Fun video.
That pot @11:09 is new (it's from China after all lol!) - but it's a "bean pot". Feel free to make baked beans from scratch or even soup!
oh nice!!
Perhaps the elderly lady with the carpet in her bathroom had originally been from the UK as most bathrooms were carpeted years ago (probably needed to keep your feet warm!) That could not be the reason in California! Thank goodness, for sanitary reasons, most people are not doing this now.
Can you do a vide on framing art?
yes!
Can you recommend antique shops in and around San Diego? We vacation there each year so any place would be appreciated.
Are estate sales open to bargaining? I wonder if you could have made an offer on that painting you liked.
Yes and no. The sale day was already discounted 25% i believe so they probably would not have taken a negotiation. Maybe if it was the last hour on the last day and it still hadnt sold haha
👍🏻👍🏻
hi there
❤❤
Loved this video! Hi from Belgium!
hi!! thank you!
💖👍!
What was the name of the vintage market in San Diego?
Looks like it was at Sea Hive so maybe that!
The top of that fountain looks suspicious. Good thing you didn't get it 😅
LOL I literally would not have seen that unless you pointed it out
Move a little slower with your camera please.
