- Excessive growth of snails is a problem that many planted aquarium hobbyists face. Snails most often come with plants as eggs and then they start multiplying without control in an aquarium.
In this video, we have explained 3 techniques that one can use to control snails in the planted aquarium.

Thank your suggestions . The second method did not work for me as my Corys would eat all vegetables left for snails. However the assassin snails did the job perfectly. I bought 3 of them and it took them 3 weeks to bring the pesky snails population under control. The first 2 weeks I lend them a hand removing some of them physically during weekly maintenance.

One question.
Apple snails and zebra snails are very good looking as well as good algae eater. Is it ok for the aquarium. What's the rate of increasing.
Amazon Sord plants and Java fern if brought from fish shop, how to confirm it is snails free.
Zebra snail are good algae eater. And they don't multiply in captivity. Any POT plant is likely to contain snail eggs. You can treat the plants with a potassium permanganate solution for 30 mins before introducing in tanks. But results cannot be guaranteed
Dada, nice information. I personally prefer the 3rd method which is very effective. Only one query, at the end whether the assassin snail starts eating the other assassin snail?
They are predatory and hunger can as well force them. We have seen them attack snails larger than their size
Dada dripwood kivaday taratari sejen kara jai
First dry the wood in sun for at least month or two and then put it in water till it sinks. You can fasten the process by adding some vinegar into the water or boiling the wood. Actually there is no hard and fast rule. This is what we do normally :)

Very correctly observed. Actually we changed our Camera microphone from a wired to wireless one. Guess our settings needs to be tweaked

Yes we have received this feedback. We changed our microphones and that caused the problem. We will surely look into it
I also suffered with this problem boiled leaf not worked, added assassin snails and removed manually also. By the next week not a single pest snail is visible in my 7x2x2 feet planted discuss tank🙂💪

Dada I also had snail infestation in my tank, I used pea puffer to get rid of if which helped me to get rid of it .
But as it turned out to be no snails left they are nipping other fishes.
What can be done . Please help.
This is the reason we don't use pea puffer. It's rather obvious that they are not getting food and going after fish now. You have to grow some snails outside and feed them. No other way :)

Actually I purchase a apple snail to my tank becz eat clean the tank... Now after seeing this I'm scared .. Shall I remove it...
Apple Snail normally does not breed fast in captivity. So keep a watch. If you see them multiplying fast then remove :)

Ista Trap is rubbish. The snails go in and out. If you lift it, they all fall out.....hahaha......
The video actually was not about Ista Trap. It was more about snail control in general. Anyway thanks for sharing your observation
