    Couple thoughts:
1: The title should be .. "How To Spend Way Too Much Building A Rat Rod"!
2: Finish the fab work before painting your chassis!
3: Shop for cheap used parts so that the finale cost won't be a LOT more than the finished product is worth!
4: Learn how to fab some Rat Rod parts .... especially a grill because that one sucks worse than anything ever sucked before.
5: That's not a 9 inch ... someone lied to you .... and you should know your rear ends before getting on TV and talking about them!
6: And last but most important: Watch Rat Rod Bob Builds before building your Rat Rod.

      7. don;t bolt on $50,000 worth of brand new parts onto shit that has 50 plus years of rust on it, I mean damn.... noone doing that at home. even the novice builder id gonna ATLEAST hit that shit with a wire brush and a cheap can of flat black/clear coat wal-mart paint.... Atleast TRY clean it up and make it look good. It can still look rusty without actually BEING rusty.

Its a street rod with a rusty body, you guys just don't get it, sorry, "A" for effort but real ratrods aren't built with store bought parts and a shop like a ladies kitchen, they are scrounged from junk piles and built on a greasy garage or even a dirt floor by talented backyard engineers

I think Welder Up is in a class by itself. The stuff they build that you don't see is better than the cars they show. Some of their rides border on clown cars. Agreed he does have some pricy cars. I'm kind of a purist, rats are built buy working guys in their garage. Build for fun.

That panel over behind the seat positions, I’d cut out and use for space of things to come or need on the road. Great vlog, it’s still a hot rod that HAD TO BE BUILT. And I’d put one of the Chrysler 3.6 Ltr., v6, twin ohc, 296 hp, just to be different, and a good engine that doesn’t start with “LS SOMETHING”. My Chrysler van will burn the rubber if punched with the v6. It’s also compact.

@@garrettpolhamus3733 That's not my point at all. You can spend a million dollars building a rod. If you have the money, power to you!! The very foundation of the rat rod principle was born out of protest to everything that is done in this build because not everyone can afford all of these expensive parts and materials. So buy a new frame, suspension, steering, and drivetrain, just don't call it rat rod because it's an insult to the whole principle...get it? At the very least call it "How to build a mega dollar rat rod"...this video is very mis-leading and thus a huge disappontment to those who aren't just mindless viewers! Then again if you're pandering to idiots, who am I to stand in your way. BTW, I've built way nicer rides than this with way less money I'm not just some wannabe shooting his mouth off.

They are prone to overheat and be underpowered. Even a blown flathead makes as much power as a stock sbc. I used a '64 283 for a fraction of the costs of their flathead. My trans was a Muncie M-21.

I actually have to agree with the pistol shifter looking kinda ridiculous
I personally would've gone with the classic 8-ball shifter knob or something else along those lines

you did not show where you ran the exhaust. im building a 37 ford coupe with a similar frame but a 2017 musting IRS and finding it hard to place the mufflers in a spot where heat inside the car will not be a factor

has anyone heard anything from mark kirby on that aluminum flat head
its hard to find any info about the engine after about 2010 there was also mention of kirby having health issues but several entries in various forums mention having seen the engine others mention a beta engine in existence but no recent information the company shadow rods mention in this video makes no mention of an aluminum flat head engine being for sale but does mention aluminum heads
