- In December of 2021 Matt and Mike headed to Texas to load up a tractor trailer load of Model As and Parts. We decided the 1929 Ford Model A Pickup would make a perfect hot rod parts hauler. Matt and the crew spent the next year turning this rusty and rusty pickup into a killer hot rod!

This gives me hope that I still have time to build a hot rod before I go to the scrap yard.
You guys make it look so easy. Masterful job.
Ah! to be young again to have the energy Matt has to continually work on these projects. It ain’t easy. I used to have that kind of energy to work all day.
I think I have the same bug is you I'll take even being 40 again or 50
I always did this kind of stuff growing up now I'm 57yrs old and after many injuries and surgeries those days are over. I wish I had the ability to do one more cool ride
U kno there are drugs for that now..... Lol.
Ibuprofen helps 😊

Really enjoyed the "cruising around" part of this video. Thanks. Reminds me of the good parts of Berks County and the surrounding area. Would like to see more of this in your videos. Thanks again. Good work.
There’s no way I can emphasize how envious I am of the vehicles you guys put out.. this truck is incredible.. can’t begin to tell you how cool it would be to tour the US with this thing.. go places I’ve always wanted to see in a car that may have never gotten go.. I also have a UA-cam channel and cruising from town to town in that, making my content.. man.. what an adventure of a lifetime..
great job gentlemen..
Awe inspiring, I have a 26 Roadster Pick up and this is the look I'm going for. I haven't found the time yet. But this year coming is looking good.
Thank you Matt and crew for all the amazing content and inspiration.
Matt from down under (Australia),
That thing is flippin cool Matt! You shoulda saved some of that gas tank sand and made yourself a little hourglass. Thanks again for putting this together Mike!
Love to see the old iron being saved and kept on the road. Awesome job!
I enjoy these time lapse vids now and then, it’s good if you haven’t had the time to follow the whole series 👍
I saw all the individual videos as you were building this, but it is even better to see the start to finish. More of these
Matt, Mike, and Steve you guys have more knowledge and talent in your big toes than 90 percent of the world has in their whole body. Love the shop truck it's super cool.
Hi i'm a Car mechanic from German,i like what you Do!Thank you for this great Video 👍👍👍
Nice wrap up video . I remember you getting that . Thought at first it was another one , until I saw the engine you were putting in it . Then I knew this was the "shop truck" . Love the way it sounds , & runs , & looks . Turned out nice . The video may have been 30 minutes , but it took you gents a bit longer than that to get it all together , then paint & rebuild it to this point . Still love this build . I'm glad you did this post to see some of the footage we never saw before , when you were doing the videos on this project . Loaded with great "how to" expertise . Rock on ITG !
Great video ! Music is so well done. One of your most cool builds, I think you should have the Iron Trap logo on the doors that would befit a work truck.
All I can say Matt is well done! From day one in Texas to work in process to the fine video that was produced to the finished pickup.
Has to be the coolest shop truck ever.
So happy to see a flat head in it.
It looks like you used an old army blanket for seat cover, I had my dad's blanket from when he was in Korea. I could not imagine wrapping my self up in it, talk about itch city.
Great job, keep the videos coming.
i'm a truck guy so it's safe to say this is my absolute fave build of yours, hands down. i can only hope my '36 turns out as good. i finally have all of my parts in a pile until i find out what i don't, i can start the body work this fall, and hopefully have it together come next spring.
Great compilation video on the shop truck. Now it needs “Iron Trap Garage,Boyertown, Penn.” on the doors in script like the meat truck. Hey, and also show it doing parts runs for the shop.
You're so right love it
All honor to you guys that finally start to break the horrible "patina" trend. This is what a cool hot rod would look like if it was built back in the days, of course you would give your creation a layer of paint! And what a creation it is, an absolutely wonderful little truck. I wish you many, many lovely cruises with this little treasure..
What a great hot rod truck. From the dusty Texas panhandle barn to driving around PA. Good job, saved another one.
I'd completely forgotten what you started this project with! Turned into a really neat little pickup; top job!
Gota give you an Atta boy on this one, I admire your workmanship. Take care
Gramps
Followed along from the beginning of this build. The truck is just too cool, love it!
One of my favorite builds!
Fantastic, cruising the back roads, smelling the fresh cut hay, the warm air and the cold air at night oh yeah. There’s even room for a cooler.✌️
Good People - Awesome Car’s …..
No Comment’s - Great 👍🏼 Job …..
Hi 👋 from Chertanovo Chopper’s Custom Club …..
Moscow City 🌆 …..
Russia 🇷🇺 …..
Thank you guys for inspiring me to build my ’28 Model A Hot Rod. 👍
Love the recap video. I followed you guys through the original video's of this build.
Morning Matt , Steve & Mike...Matt you have one of the happiest dogs in the world!! I truly enjoy your videos which as you know inspired me to build our 31 Ford Coupe using many of your techniques!! Y'all be safe!! God Bless!!
Great to see it driving... All you need to build are the wooden sideboards for the box "IronTrap logo & signage"
What a transformation from what it was! Right up there with the schroll coupe!
Excellent production, held my interest from the start. Thanks for the effort.
Matt you jump right into these builds. And you’re great at it. Plus you and your staff are all over it. Love all the dedication to making these rods And showing almost a compleat build .Thank you so much for sharing with us. 💯❤️
That turned out badass!!! Well done!!! Love the sound of a flat head.
My favorite build so far. Only thing missing is a raccoon tail, lol. Ty for taking us along
If all of my projects could be done in 30 minutes like this guy does! Awesome parts runner!
Very cool roadster pickup...not too many pickups out there...glad you built this cool roadster shop truck
What a beautiful sound, I loved to creep up behind cars like that just to listen, please mount a mic behind so we can hear it again
You guys have the coolest channel on UA-cam I've found. I've watched everything from will it starts to drag racing to cooking and still come back to Iron Trap Garage for my old hot rod fix. We build what we can but you make cool "cool".....
Could believe how good it sounded when it rolled out of the trailer!
Fabulous video. (Nothing else to add).
Love from Reading, England.
Awesome content!! I followed this build, and it is great seeing a recap of the build from start to finish. That truck is a very peroid corect hotrod that would be a favorite at any classic car show or event. I can only imagine it has to be fun to drive with the supercharger, and built motor. Thanks for sharing Matt,
I really enjoy this kind of format...start to finish...that RPU really looks like a lot of fun! I'm building a 32 Phantum RPU. No completion date on the horizon. Have too much "LIFE" in the way. I'm really happy for you, that (it seems) you're living your dream. Keep on Hot Rodding!😊
Great video and what an awesome way to enjoy a test ride in a cool hot ride among great scenery. The test ride probably took hours. Hahaha. Great job!!
Perfect parts getter! What a fun looking little pickup!
When you got that thing, it was a pile of crap but you saw its potential. I looks like a fun ride. I enjoyed watching you work on this project. I like its rusty look and usability and you dont have to worry about getting a scratch on it compared to some pristine car.
Followed this build from Texas to present. Very satisfying! Would look great pulling the little car trailer (the one that didn't tow well with the A on it) with the restored track roadster. I would get some magnetic door signs for it also.
Loved this montage video. Would love to see one of this kind of video after you finish all your builds
He has videos for the Free-T , the forgotten hotrod and I think the Schroel coupe.
That's the plan!
Would love a roadster P/U hot rod... wife even likes it!!
That's some sand, I didn't know we'd have a spring break beach video. :) Keep the good work coming.
Ford RPU's are cool as Hell IMO. But I'm a Ford truck guy. 51 F1, 52 F3 and a 70 F250. I'm currently looking at a project 29 RPU to buy. You can never have a enough old Ford trucks. Great video.
Very cool video, where you put it together and drive it in one video. Really enjoyed this video Matt.
What a great project car. It gives respect to old as well a new technology. It is far beyond what the original people had in mind. It is the initiative we need today to progress beyond software and AI. You cannot replace a situation where several human minds address a problem and come up with a solution, over and over again. Cut and fit, Throw away and start over. review and change, get outside comment, I love it. The process could create a dream but you need the dream.
Iguana
Probably my favorite build you guys have done. Thanks !!
Awesome little roadster pickem up truck
Way kool. I remember the rust bucket the first time it was pulled from its deathbed. way kool. Thanks for sharing. Way kool.
Boy would I love to see a movie from when these trucks were new and over 90 percent were delivered by train to rural depots in crates unassembled and buyers had to pick them up and assemble them.
That's where the term "pickup truck" came from.
It was Ford who began that because there was a large dealership system in existence then.
Ya had to bring tools with you and assemble them right off the train.
Most people had a local mechanic or even blacksmiths along to help.
Matt, Mike and Steve would be in mechanics heaven if they found one in the crate.
Awesome Rig I have a large soft spot for early Ford Pickups ,I had a 35 when i was 16 it was a really cool truck it had a 48 Merc,Flathead Offie heads two 97s and juiced brakes .
Cool video and yes it did inspire me. I picked up an 8ba and ordered a part from you so I can keep the engine closed up while I find a tudor to put the flatty in to
Turning out to be a really good Sunday for my UA-cam channel list feeds.
Mustie1 followed by Watch Wes Work now Iron Trap Garage.
I wonder what's next UA-cam is going to throw in my feed.
That truck is definitely one of the coolest builds for the Trap.
Gotta turn some heads on parts and supply runs into town.
Cool as guys! Yes I watched this build all the way through! Impressed as hell by how quickly this one came together! Absolutely Bitchin! Unfortunately I'm flat out rebuilding my motorbike at present, getting the engine rebuilt after 100 000miles is gonna take all my resources for some time, but I'm getting your excitement at getting the Shop Truck up and running, looking forward to that feeling when my old gurl (it's a 1991!) hits the road again! Congratulations!
Great vid great cars and content but the best thing is minimal talking just working i love it
Awesome video, I know Matt did the work but Mike the editor is killing it!!
Really impressed with the choice of fill music!!
Mint, Mint, Mint, love the shop truck. Moon rocks.
You and your crew did this build right before our eyes. That truck is cool. Thanks again for sharing! ❤️💯
Great job. Looks like it runs out well
magnific hot rod 🤩😍 very very very ...COOL!!!😎 a monster job 🛠👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you are the best proffessional ... thank you very much for the partage..
Love that truck. It's definitely a keeper.
Loving the complete story!😊
Y’all sure make hot rod builds look easy. All I lack is skills, experience, and funds. 😹
I'm amazed with how well that old truck is and how solid it looks...I'm seeing em inside and out around old farms up hollers way back in the sticks and most of em are completely stock and all together but nobody knows who they belong to..The old vehicle's held up but the houses barns and sheds are falling apart..A couple that's been out of the weather still shows the original color of em and a guy told me that the title of ownership is in a few of em but the names didn't pop up anywhere in 3 separate counties so it's hard to tell...I hate knowing that they'll end up scrapped or end up going to waste rustn away..
Real nice simple ride… great job!
It was a fun worthwhile project loved the whole build thanks
Sweet truck. I want one!
That's a real cool shop truck !
Dude that's bad ass!! I really wanna start building my model A!
Very cool transformation thanks for sharing
This is a great video. Great editing, great music and it kept my attention. Good stuff guys!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Five thumbs up on this one! Other than the rusty wheel wells this is a great looking build! Simple, stark, but elegant! Looks like a great runner, too.
Moon approved! Even the music was great!
Love recap videos, thanks John from Arizona
Cool little rig, I like it.
Love that truck great video ty Steve
And the adventure comes together. Excellent.
Nice edit Mike!
Just love this truck❤ a true hotrod.
Great video Thanks
Watching from Seguin Texas
I. Ett your customers really appreciated you working on this instead of their cars
I love the sound of a flat head v8.
Awesome truck 👌
love the runflat tires 😁
Looks like a good ride
Thank you for doing the wrap up video. Shop truck needs a a name. How about the Moon pick up?
Cool motor and a fantastic sound 😊👍🏻
Now, I’m torn between the, “Shop Truck,” and the, “Schroll Coupe.”
Yeppers that is really neat 🥰. Thanks 👍 for sharing. Really enjoyed the content ☺️.
I love the way it sounds. That thumpin' V8 sound.
How do you make your money? Do you sell what you build? I am 80yrs young and halfway did a 55 f100 with a 350 W eng. I have been in love with your talent and learned so much about old Iron short cuts from your videos. Sorry to say the wife had to have eye operation and truck was sold. Great work as always. Thanks from Ohio
Just love it great video ty Steve
First - THANK YOU for NOT converting a Ford to a d*mn Chevy engine !! 👍❤👍
Second - Time stamps 25:15 & 25:28 - So, you don't believe a STOP sign really means "stop", huh? ROFL!!!
Great job; great concept; great execution; great looking truck !!!
