I have never taken off the fairing. Losen two allen bolts by your left foot side of bike. Ease your socket in & take off the oil filter. Give it a shot! 😊 Saves a ton of time and as your faring gets older the plastics wont crack when u snap them apart.
I drain the oil first then remove the filter. I used an empty 1 gallon water jug cut to fit under the filter to catch the oil. Not one drop of oil got on my exhaust pipes.
Is the scratches inside right underneath the oil cap normal ? There’s grooves/cuts in the metal where you fill the oil inside. I have pictures would love more info gsxr 1000 2022 and it has only 300 miles
I usually get the Motul. Is this oil fine ? Mobil 1 racing 4t for a 2018 GSXR1000? It’s nice to just go into Walmart or soenthing and just get hands on the oil right away.
once the gasket touches & you hand tighten as much as you can I wouldn't go past tightening a half turn more with the wrench. as that will too tight and you run the risk of damage when it comes to removing it.
yes i was supposed to do that had a appointment with the dealership, but those 600miles was too quick as it was the next day when i reach those miles and the dealership was booked for a month. so thats why I had 1k miles by the time i made this video.
Uneducated dumb comment. These type of gaskets are on all of my equipment (dump truck, flatbed diesel, Tacoma, lawn mowers and tractor. Been re-using them for years and no problems. Educate yourself before making anymore stupid comments.
I do the oil drain plug first and then the filter so less oil is left to drip onto the header from the filter.

I will have to try that next time, thanks for the tip
I did exactly the same thing but with a 2 liter soda bottle. The curvature helped get right under the lip where the filter mates to the engine.

if you could post pics that be great , there shouldnt be any scratches that i know of
Just to confirm you put 3.5 quarts in? My dealer put 3.5 litres in which is more like 3.8 quarts about mid way in sight glass when bikes cold

I’ve used mobile 1 in all my bikes for almost 20 years
Where do you dispose of dirty oil?
any auto parts store will accept used oil
Can you push that header valve in any? I can move mine in and out and im jw if thats normal or if its loose
ya you shouldn't be able to move it at all, if you can that means its loose and you need to tighten the bolts.
The manual says to tighten the oil filter 2 full turns after the gasket touch, isn't that too tight? Thanks

There is reason for 2 full turns, do it.
Would be impossible to do 2 turns.
Hand tighten and then max 1/4 turn. For years we actually just hand tighten and never ever had an issue
Aluminum foil works better. You can make a funnel below with it
What is the tool to open your fairing ?
plastic pry tool link is in the description box for the tool
@@ACProductions77 where in the description?

thats on the next video.
You didn’t show you draining the oil with the lil bolt on the side
i figure that be boring to watch so i cut that out
How does the bike like that mobile 1 oil?

I don't know much about bike :v

the bike only holds in quarts if you put in by the liters then its to much. 3.5 quarts with filter change
@@ACProductions77even 3 liters is too much
@@izzysykopth its not 3liters its 3 quarts.

that belt is called a strap wrench. fyi
You didn’t do the 600 mile break in oil change? Noticed you had 1098 miles on the bike…?

@@ACProductions77you should change the oil within the first 50 miles
@@downlowgo_401I changed mine after the first start up and every 5 miles until 100 then every 10 miles till 1,000 then every 50 miles until 5,000.
You used the wrong gasket and left the old one on the plug 😅 ... the oem washer is a crush washer and they are a pain to get off tbf
The gasket he used is fine. It’s just not oem, but it’s a crush washer just like oem in copper.
🎉🎉🎉
Don’t be a quitter get that old crush gasket off bro
its definitely getting replaced on this up coming oil change.

Paper towels leave lint bad choice
Omg you’re right! It probably grenaded as soon as he started it.
