    Indians are progressively looking better. The cruise control would be a huge advantage over the Nightster. I hope Indian continues to heat up the competition because HD needs it.

      Yeah! The Scout makes it hard to choose between Indian and HD for sure.

      Indians have always looked good. But yes, they are looking better and better every year.
      Cruise control is an easy thing. At least some analog form of it. Atlas Throttle Lock. I plan to install that on my bike when I finally get it. Only costs $150 or so.

    • @ilikelampshades6

      Indians are way cooler than HD. In the UK, most would be embarrassed to ride a HD and everyone makes fun of them. The Indians have modern technology and the blacked out looks are modern and popular. Very rare to see them but people I know tend to like Indians

      Pretty funny to run into this comment, the Rogue was what sold me on getting a bike. I would have probably gotten something anyway but when I saw it I fell in love. 1 year later and still loving it.

    I just recently bought a 2020 Scout. And as a guy who is over 6ft and hasn’t thrown a leg over two wheels in over 25 years, this bike is super easy to ride and is the best bike in my mind for getting back in the two wheel world. It’s got power when you want it, it is nimble, and it’s not insanely heavy. I’m guessing the Rogue is about the same weight at around 550lbs. Thanks Block for this review.

    • @Farinhir
      @Farinhir 2 роки тому

      @@vincentkeith5259 I am planning to install an Atlas Throttle Lock when I get mine. And this bike is gorgeous. I finally found the accessories (Either finally offered by Indian or found with 3rd parties) that were making me go for a standard Scout before. Planned my build during this video and saved it to their site. Going to apply for my loan tomorrow.
      Just looked up McCruise. I think I will stick to Atlus (the low tech setup that I can do myself) rather than paying hundreds more along with installation of a computer. Atlus is a basic throttle lock which disengagues when you pull the break. Has a very good installation video also.

    When it comes to bang for your buck, instead of buying to suit obvious genre(vs HD) this thing seems so on point right now. The styling dept has done a good job with both Scout and Chief. And the Indian press dept is certainly doing a good job getting different people reviewing this bike. Well done.

    Thanks to vids like these, i decided to buy a new Rogue this year. First bike, absolutely in love with it - Fox shocks and LED from new factory install, and it's an incredible machine. Obviously as a new rider, i'm not pushing my luck (not scraping pegs) so I can't speak for riding it super aggressively, but over time i've gotten so comfortable with it... not overly sensitive throttle down low, and tons of power up top.... and this thing turns heads ALL the time (yes, mostly guys but not always!) Thanks for the great review

    I am 100% considering getting a Scout Rogue because of the value-for-dollar. I already have a Chieftain for longer rides and riding 2-up, and I want something smaller and lighter for shorter range and riding by myself. I loved the Chief Bobber Dark Horse with the stage 2, but the Scout Rogue is more affordable and that water cooled engine may be better in the summer heat. Plus, if you ever hear a Scout with a Freedom Combat 2-1 you will want one ASAP.

      Fully agree. It's a lovely looking and sounding bike but realistically it should be priced no more than £7000 and its double that in the UK. If it was priced correctly it would be extremely popular. At £14000, its not surprising you never see them

      It comes with more tech, which I never thought I'd say of a Harley, but the engine is just lifeless. Seating position on both the sportster and nightster are just weird as well. I really want to like the lineup, but it needs more character. Price is pretty similar to a scout, but I think the nightster/sportster wins on paper. You need to ride them, which is easier said than done in this economy.

    Great review! If you do a custom rogue it would be good to see one with taller suspension on the front and rear to get more lean angle, without affecting the geometry too much. I'm keen on this bike and I can't find good info on which aftermarket suspension products would work. Most answers on forums are just people bashing the idea and suggesting a different bike. The rogue has 29 degrees of lean angle with 2" of rear suspension travel and the regular scout has 31 degrees of lean angle with 3" of rear suspension travel.

    Yo Blockhead, those are the kind of roads dreams are made of. I haven't seen their equivalent over here in Palm Beach County, FL. or the state, or the entire eastern seaboard for that matter. Hey, how about you rag on Indian for failing to put the cylinder deactivation on the bike yet. It's been out for eight years now, and they've had multiple complaints, but haven't addressed this elephant in the room. This bike could be worthy of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame if they would just take care of that one issue. Otherwise, it is that good. Great job on the vid, there bro. Keep 'em coming.

    Popular upgrade....rear shocks. Multiple manufacturers make them and you can get the length from the regular scouts and that gives you an extra inch of rear travel and that makes a big difference. At that point, stock shocks off a regular Scout bolt right on so just get some takeoffs.
    Another thing that isn't mentioned....MILEAGE. I know it's not mentioned much but...stage 1 tune with a Dynojet PV3 tune in it, my buddy (no windshield) breaks 60mpg averages on his. 50's is very common. That's just ridiculous with this kind of power on tap.

    American manufacturers need to learn they can't charge top end prices for these bikes. It's only got 1 disc on the front, which makes it look like a budget £6000 bike, not a £14,000 bike

    With the new Harley Sportster realeses, I think we'll see Indian's stock going up. Harley had years after the Scout's release, and it seems, could not make a better bike (definitely could not make a bike that looks as good as the Scout). I really want to ride a Scout

      Well a couple things:
      1) the HD comes stock with things you can't even get on the Scout
      2) the Nightster is within 10 HP of the big Scout, and being lighter actually has a better power to weight ratio. The Sporty S far exceeds both in HP and especially torque.
      3) The Scout is awesome, and so are the new Sportys. Looks are subjective, so I don't think you can definitively say the Scout is a better bike. Each has its merits.

    Scale of 1-10, 1 being lowest 10 being highest, how would rate the rogue as a quality starter bike? Thanks!

      don't buy one as a started bike. buy a used bike with a small motor and build up your skills first.

    It's cool to see that you're at Cali, but that stretcher freeway sucks. It's made of concrete and every 8 ft. There's a slab. Sucks big time on the 101 right there

    Question to any riders here, would this be a good starter bike for a new rider? Im taking my course end of October. I have never ridden before

    Firstly, great review thoroughly enjoyed it. So I have a Rogue here in England and have a similar issue to what you highlighted, being 5' 10" I keep wanting to sit back on the seat as I was on my Vulcan S and then it becomes uncomfortable, I was considering getting the forward control 100mm extentions which would stretch my legs out and hopefully resolve this issue and put me in a better sitting position but am a little concerned it would disrupt the overall control of the bike, what's your and other followers view on this. man, i wish this bike had a fuel gauge. its about the only hang up i have with it, other then closest dealer is approx. 4hrs away from me. The new lowrider s is my other choice, but obviously at a much higher price point. This is still a pretty nice bike nonetheless

    I'm betting the power is comparable to, or better than the new Nightster. Harley isn't offering the Iron 1200 anymore... just the 883 and 48. Bet those will be gone in a year or two.

    • @stuckinpodunk
      @stuckinpodunk 2 роки тому +2

      The seem to be pretty much on par. The Nightster has 10 less hp but is about 70 lbs lighter.Hopefully it will push Indian to bump up the power for the next year. Love my Scout Bobber but I'm glad to see HD bringing it with the new models. Competition is always good for the consumer!

      @@spacebear49 I havent seen or heard on in person yet. These high compression motors are hard to get a good sound out of. Imo they are just much more harsh sounding that most cruisers, but damn they're quick 😁

      @@stuckinpodunk they don't sound BAD, they just don't sound like a Harley either. I want a Scout Rogue in the worst way. It's got everything I want. Higher bars, non-spoked wheels and a basic wind screen. And a 6th gear. For a decent price.

    Besides price, what difference is there between the Scout and the Chief?

    • @LARGO125
      @LARGO125 2 роки тому +1

      Size, chief is a bigger bike. Scout is small liquid cooled vtwin, chief has a 111ci-116ci big block air cooled vtwin. Scout is comparable to Sportster, chief is comparable to Soft tails.

    • @ZildjianMan30
      @ZildjianMan30 2 роки тому

      Also, Chief has larger fuel tank, 6 gears, numbered gears, cruise control, all LED's including headlight, fuel gauge, and high tech thingy for the dial (if you like that sort of thing).
