Indian just makes really beautiful and fast machines- on a ride on my Chief Bobber I stopped at a lookout above Borrego Springs here in the SoCal desert and a 75 yr old lady walked up and just loved it- she told me when she was a little girl Indians were the bike to have because they were just fast and beautiful looking, she was so happy that Indian still exists- I get that often, not that Harley isn’t also beautiful but people love to see these Indian bikes

Best video on the new scout hands down Brandon! Looks so fun! I have a question: your photography is so on point. What camera are you using for that POV? Again great great video!!
Lumix G85 for all of my POV shots and GoPro 7 on my helmet. All of the moving/drone shots were the camera crew on site. They use Canon equipment. Also, thank you!
@@BrandonBicasso thanks for the info I’m most definitely going to look into that Linux G85! That cinematography is excellent! Again man best video so far the Indian scouts! Watched it from beginning to end. Can’t wait for the next one. Peace!
@@pin75us1sure tho origins of Scout are debated, Octane and FTR mills came out of project 156, compared to Scout the Octane had tighter gear ratios, bigger motor, hotter cans, 110hp in stage1 form, and longer suspension travel, 34 deg lean, only 35% was shared with Scout, new Sport and 101 remind me a lot but obviously evolved, miss my Octane, good bike ❤
Brandon, I averaged 58 MPG on steady interstate riding at roughly 70 MPH on a 2020 Scout Bobber Twenty. So.. MPG I suspect really isn't going to be different here. Average overall on the old Bobber was 46-48 MPG with mixed riding.
Right so if 20 miles more to a tank is real.. that's a lot for a bike like this. In my opinion anyway. Some folks are wanting a 5 gallon tank but will have other complaints when the look, wheelbase and center of gravity are off to support that.
Nah, only during certain corners to allow the bike to turn in. When you take a corner hot, using front brake mid corner can lead to trouble. Trail braking using the rear. I do use both front/rear in normal riding conditions, though.
Ive been riding a scout bobber twenty since it came out of the crate and I absolutely love it. I'm debating trading it in for a 101. maybe i just keep both....
Been looking at this and the new nighster. I know the nightster will be a bit quicker but this bike is just better looking especially with bags and windshield on it
Hey Brandon, great Video. Answered a lot of my concerns. Fact is I am really into scout 101. The only thing is, you and the other guys mentioned "stalling" quite often at the beginning of the vid. Now is that a preproduction problem and is it solved now. Buying a bike that has known technical or mechanical issues is...well... questionable at best. Do you have more details on that? Thx again for the great content. U doing a great job. Easy to understand and great eye for details
I don't have more info on that, unfortunately. Someone present mentioned that it can happen on the FTR as well but doesn't after the bike is up to operating temperature. My guess is possibly the tuning on the clutch was at the edge of the friction zone and maybe involved the clutch assist. At operating temps, all the metal expands so less likely to happen. Other than the few mishaps, I had no issues with it but worth noting.
Love the indian but the ride... they seriously ignored all the consumer comments from the past years and still have not produced a comfortable ride ... shocks ..seat and pipes are absolutely woeful on the bobbers yet they ignored it all ...moving on to 25 still the SAME... sorry but true you know this. Like the channel mate great 👍
Honestly, the Bobber was always looks over function. Still is today. People love the look and give up comfort for it. If you want more suspension, the 101 shocks (or others and previous Gen) will fit no problem.
Make sure you've planned financially for the ride. Long distances require frequent stops. Bike trips are more expensive than one would expect if they've never done it before.
It would be interesting to understand of the people coming in, how many would pay cash for their houses. Interest rates go up to slow the market but it's only effecting the people that already have loans and the handful of people that can actually afford to buy a place.
Awesome video and review as always- own a 101 600 miles in the UK still stalls with clutch pulled in :( so frustrating. Indian have no answer / fix . Just cuts out in traffic etc. Only answer was - not designed to blip on down shift. 😂
And I still don’t know which way to go with it…. I’m a short rider that’s in the market for a 1st bike that I can grow with. (I still drive my 1st car. It might be a sentimental thing). And I love the look of all of them on video and I’m probably going to sit on a couple tomorrow to see if that helps. But the amount of honest feedback is definitely appreciated.
Best thing for you to do is go sit on them. I give my feedback and try to show as much on camera to satisfy curiosity. Seeing them in person and touching them gives out a different feeling. You’re in the right direction even if Scout isn’t for you, but it’s tailored for short riders. Totally get the feelings!
Do you prefer the Scout over the Chief? Is it faster? One of the reasons I bought a Super Chief was I wanted low RPMs at highway speeds. As far as the wind buffeting, this is the first bike I've owned with a windshield so I have nothing to compare it to but so far I'm loving my SCL! It's beautiful and it's a BEAST!!!
Scout has more top end, less weight so it will outrun a Chief. Also, Scout makes most of its power at 7500rpm. You're shifting Chief at 5400rpm so you're still pulling on Scout. Different kind of ride, but a Chief would come off the line crazy strong with the torque and taper off. (stock anyway) I prefer my Chief tho. I like the torque and Thunderstroke character.
Awesome video man! Can you tell me what setup you use for your helmet audio? I've been struggling with getting that part figured out, mine always cuts out or peaks and then it becomes unusable.
i hate this whole adding software to analog experiences... to a degree it is great but once u get to this point a software issue making the bike/vehicle a brick is so sad..
Subscribed to your channel. Placed my order for a smoke black 2025 Bobber limited + tech! I’m excited. My first bike was a 2004 Harley 1200 Custom that I had yeaaars ago. Wondering you think the new bobber will compare to that bike?
@@BrandonBicasso that’s my worry. These are all so new that everyone keeps talking about them comparatively - which makes sense - but the suspension is talked so badly for it. Would you generally say after riding for a while that better suspension (3” for example) should be considered? Or do you think of that as sacrilegious on a bobber?
I bought a Bobber in 2017 and was content with it. The suspension upgrade wasn't worth it to me then. Now, I'd consider it. If you can afford it, consider the upgrade after enjoying the bike a bit. There are more options available than when I bought mine. Also, you can get the adjustable rear suspension off 101 Scout no issues. You got options at least, but 2" suspension for the Bobber look is def part of what makes it... it.
@@Leos1488 That's odd. For Super Scout I see Black Metallic, Black Smoke with Graphics and Maroon Metallic with Graphics as options on Indian's US site.
If you were me and your choice was 2024 Rouge Copper slashed to 12,300 plus tax etc etc. Or get the 2025 Scout Sport for like 14 and change, what would you do? Thinking of putting like 5 or y down and financing the rest but dont want my payments more that low 2s per month? I am very torn
hi, great video thank you! , I have a 2022 FTR and I'm thinking about changing to a Scout because I'm very often below 5000 rpm, and the style is awesome, I know you have an FTR, what you think between these two engines?
It feels similar to a FTR engine, but the chassis setup makes it a different experience. You sit more over the engine on FTR and fuel under you versus the engine and fuel in front of you on Scout. Both are rev-happy engines, but Scout is geared towards chill riding too with Super/Scout Classic. This gear ratio helps with not having to shift as early so that helps with that chill experience if you want it. Or.. ya know.. rev it out.
I watched you on your 109r, and I know that big arse back tires don't mixed with like Dragon Tail type roads in N.C. By the way, N.C. roads near Dragon Tail are more fun then the Tail itself to me. How do you compare your 127hp 109r to this 1250cc 105hp? Is the extra 22hp really matter, because I was wanting a 109r, but I already know how it is on the twisty's.only 3.4 gals. gas. Always a trade off.
109 is a lot cheaper than the 25 Scout, but the Scout would be just as quick because it weighs almost 200 pounds less. So, the extra hp and torque the 109 has is muted because of how heavy it is.
My brother lived in SF for a few years (he doesn't recommend it), but yeah those hills are brutal. He tore that town up on his warrior 1700. All of that low end torque was very useful for hilly SF. BTW, excellent video!
Torn between Bobber and Sport. I wonder why we can spec the batwing fairing on Bobber but cant spec it on Sport? I prefer this engine design over the old. I dont like any chrome or shiny bits on bikes at all. Give me a plain all black engine and bike, I'd be happy.
Interesting. I haven’t played with the combinations on the bike generator. Sport/101 use different upper triples from Classic, Super and Bobber. Might be the reason.
Been looking at the scout bobber vs scout 101, you mentioned the 101 was your favorite. Was it a big difference from the bobber, and how was the suspension compared to the bobber?
@@zelxperus745 that’s a personal choice you’ll only know riding it. But if you got a Bobber and wanted to add the 101 rear suspension (or the others without the adjustable piece) later, would take an hour to swap the shocks.
By comparison: How does the steel frame tubing feel over the aluminum? Can you feel a difference? Historically the aluminum being a softer metal absorbs vibration over the steel. Hence the reason high end mountain bicycles are aluminum. What are your thoughts? My 22 Scout Bobber ABS Icon is aluminum and I want to move up to the newer 101, just need to wait until Indian works out all of the bugs. My bobber still has the stick seat and suspension so, it’s very bumpy. When I travel on the highway, I use extra caution. I’ve almost been thrown off.
I was put off by the jdes of the aluminum frame but i was impressed seeing it tbh and feeling how light the bike was. But man the steel you need less of it to do a better job in terms of cleaning things up getting the lines to look better.
I test rode a sport scout a couple days ago and at stop lights, my thighs were getting cooked! That was my first time on a scout, so I am trying to figure out if it being 90 degrees outside was a bigger issue or if something was wrong with that bikes cooling or if that’s just how these bikes are. I have a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 now and obviously smaller engines don’t get as hot, but I’m trying to get an idea what is normal on a bigger V-twin that is liquid cooled. What was your experience with the engine heat in your riding it?
Heat wasn’t an issue for me. I’ve been vocal about it on the previous gen but I felt it was better on the ‘25. I haven’t ridden it in 90+ degrees yet either, however. Larger displacement engines will produce more heat even with liquid cooling. Part of the cooling is for temps and producing more performance. Emissions play a factor with the exhaust too causing heat with the catalytic converters.
Thanks so much for the really good feedback. I love these bikes and the original scout bobber is what originally even caught my interest to the world or motorcycling. I really liked my test ride of the sport scout, but just want to make sure I know what to expect with the engine heat and be ready to get used to it! Thanks again Brandon for the feedback and awesome content always, and ride safe out there
A basic, non ABS model with simple design, speedo, steel frame, with cheaper basic forks, twin shocks with a pillion seat and a 5 gallon tank and a engine like Victory Octane would be an amazing bike, affordable and not too complicatfed for working class grease monkey bikers like myself to be able to do servicing myself. Good economy, reliability with an under stressed motor, gearbox, transmission and even a great shaft drive like on the Yamaha 1200 super tenere would be great. The Triumph Explorer 1200cc triple is a fantastic engine that will do huge mileages and if the electronics are simpler and therefore more reliable with analogue speedo and tachometer without all the expensive electronic gizmos that potentially go wrong and cost an arm and a leg to fix puts me off of bikes. Maybe Royal Enfield are onto a winner with their simple interceptor 650 parallel twin. Affordable basic models like a detuned simple scout or FTR is already not a bad idea. The 40k valve clearance check is great. Well done Indian. Its about price and a do all type affordable bike for the masses like the Triumph Tiger 800 was is already good and the engines, reliability is well proven and theyll do over 100k miles with minimal wear on the motor and Alan Sanders took one round the world and rode it still after that. Theyre not Honda but more fun but bikes like Suzuki 650 v strom motors are so reliable and last. Thats why bikes like these are like Toyotas or Volvos of bikes. Yes if Indian have that build quality and bombproof design they will be like the VW Beetle or even sportster and keep tickin. Your feedback is great as you also know of the wrenching and knowing reliability day to day and price.
I'm sorry for this late query but is it possible to take the front and the rear suspension from 101 to the super scout? Only asking because of the fact that these parts are interchangeable
@@BrandonBicasso hey man, thanks for the reply on the fly. Really appreciate it and I have a vision to get the super scout blacked out (I saw that variant from the Blockhead's channel😅) with the suspension from 101...... I feel like it would look badass. What are your thoughts on it?
Well.. depends on if you want the Brembo brakes and adjustable/inverted suspension. If that's not important, Rogue. Easier to flash the ecm for the horsepower than add the braking/front suspension system. Can also add the rear adjustable suspension later.
What's a chance? Stop light to stop light, probably. 1/4 mile, probably not. More weight, less top end. Riding with friends on a twisty back road, sure. Track day, probably not.

Peace!
I just bought a 2017 scout classic this year it leave a fair amount to be desired. I think I'm go to tey and get the 101
Great review!💯🔥
Looks great B, really a cool update to the Victory Octane, bringing that aggression 😎
Scout came out before the octane
@@pin75us1sure tho origins of Scout are debated, Octane and FTR mills came out of project 156, compared to Scout the Octane had tighter gear ratios, bigger motor, hotter cans, 110hp in stage1 form, and longer suspension travel, 34 deg lean, only 35% was shared with Scout, new Sport and 101 remind me a lot but obviously evolved, miss my Octane, good bike ❤
The octanes are definitely bad ass bikes
Great vid man !!!
Great bikes! Best mid size in the country. Were you using the rear brake only?
Nah, only during certain corners to allow the bike to turn in. When you take a corner hot, using front brake mid corner can lead to trouble. Trail braking using the rear. I do use both front/rear in normal riding conditions, though.
The Bobber is still the best looking one of the bunch.
Ive been riding a scout bobber twenty since it came out of the crate and I absolutely love it. I'm debating trading it in for a 101. maybe i just keep both....
Will be different kind of rides. Curious on what you decide
Been looking at this and the new nighster. I know the nightster will be a bit quicker but this bike is just better looking especially with bags and windshield on it
Yeah, Nightster weighs less. Surprised me a lot when I rode it.
thank you!
Thank you for the reply. Well I guess, I will see when I get to testride it myself. Maybe a slight idle increase solves it.
That clutch assist and lighter crank contributes to that unfortunately 🥴 It will stall while in neutral sometimes.
100% needs a re tune - As you have , owned a 2018 bobber and it was rock steady for 10k @@BrandonBicasso
"It knows what it is, and it has a chip on it's shoulder" 😂
They really are forcing you into that 101 or limited plus with that dual front brakes
They are. Strategic with the product offering.
Sennheiser ME 2 mic with GoPro 7/mic adapter. 👌🏾 Also, taping off the vents in the helmet to prevent most wind noise.
Niiice!
i hate this whole adding software to analog experiences... to a degree it is great but once u get to this point a software issue making the bike/vehicle a brick is so sad..
Awesome ride. Is there a way for a non-blogger to take a similar trip with Indian?
Not on these type of rides. Media and press only. There's other rides with the Indian owner groups though.
My 101 is on the way.
Oooouuuu, white or red?
@@BrandonBicasso Went with Red
I live near there. 6:47
Subscribed to your channel. Placed my order for a smoke black 2025 Bobber limited + tech! I’m excited. My first bike was a 2004 Harley 1200 Custom that I had yeaaars ago. Wondering you think the new bobber will compare to that bike?
Will be a night and day difference. Congrats! Prepare for those suspension woes, tho!
You got options at least, but 2" suspension for the Bobber look is def part of what makes it... it.
Brandon, u are riding a sport scout in black metallic.. but I found it only in black smoke or red… I want that metallic finish paint!
The bike I rode with black metallic was Super Scout. Sport Scout was black smoke (matte). You can get either in black metallic. Check Indian’s site.
Ye sorry, I mean super scout.. according to the Indian site the only 2 color.. black smoke and red
I am very torn
hi, great video thank you! , I have a 2022 FTR and I'm thinking about changing to a Scout
because I'm very often below 5000 rpm, and the style is awesome,
I know you have an FTR, what you think between these two engines?
It feels similar to a FTR engine, but the chassis setup makes it a different experience. You sit more over the engine on FTR and fuel under you versus the engine and fuel in front of you on Scout. Both are rev-happy engines, but Scout is geared towards chill riding too with Super/Scout Classic. This gear ratio helps with not having to shift as early so that helps with that chill experience if you want it. Or.. ya know.. rev it out.
I seriously need to know what Indian plans for the Sport Chief, the Scout 101 is a really good deal compared to it.
Fantastic film and review. You videos are far above your counterparts in my opinion
They finally did something about that ugly frame. Good video Brandon. As usual
2” of suspension compared to 3” is very noticeable. I wouldn’t get a Bobber without it.
Do you think it'd be fine then with the added extra suspension that can be added on, or not worth the effort?
Also, thank you for the info!
@@zelxperus745 that’s a personal choice you’ll only know riding it. But if you got a Bobber and wanted to add the 101 rear suspension (or the others without the adjustable piece) later, would take an hour to swap the shocks.
Scraping pegs is the best.
I really do enjoy it haha.
Been awhile since I’ve been on one but I had no issues with vibration or buzzing on the steel frame. Same as my Chief.
Thanks again Brandon for the feedback and awesome content always, and ride safe out there
@@hunterbunn1404 Sure thing! Reach out if you have any more questions.
Your feedback is great as you also know of the wrenching and knowing reliability day to day and price.
there is someone saying their dash loads up superr sloww and he counted about 20-25 seconds for full screen.. how did it work for you? any problems?
I mentioned it in the video. We rode pre/production models so it was expected. Doesn’t look like they fixed it. 🤷🏾♂️
@@BrandonBicasso appreciate it!
Sure thing!
why not put some teflon on the scraping parts
I'm sorry for this late query but is it possible to take the front and the rear suspension from 101 to the super scout? Only asking because of the fact that these parts are interchangeable
Yes, all of it is interchangeable 🤙🏾 The front end is expensive though. New triples, risers, forks, brakes, wheel, fender.
@@BrandonBicasso hey man, thanks for the reply on the fly. Really appreciate it and I have a vision to get the super scout blacked out (I saw that variant from the Blockhead's channel😅) with the suspension from 101...... I feel like it would look badass. What are your thoughts on it?
I think that would be sick with the gold tubes and rear struts. That cast front wheel would be nice as well against more black.
Beautiful Bike😂
Actually, you need more throttle when you starting on a uphill
Electronic throttle makes it a bit weird tbh.
Im thinkingh about 101 scout of Rogue scout 2025, opinions?
Well.. depends on if you want the Brembo brakes and adjustable/inverted suspension. If that's not important, Rogue. Easier to flash the ecm for the horsepower than add the braking/front suspension system. Can also add the rear adjustable suspension later.
@@BrandonBicasso Alrighty then, thanks for the input 👏
Why are certain options not available on Canadian models?
My guess is government regulation. Same as why it’s illegal to have tint windshields.
You dont have freedom like we do south of you
Will it have a chance against a Kawasaki Z1000? I like the way the scout and chief look
What's a chance? Stop light to stop light, probably. 1/4 mile, probably not. More weight, less top end. Riding with friends on a twisty back road, sure. Track day, probably not.
