It's an awesome setup once balanced. With both an HDMI output that can go into RavenEye for Active Track, and an SDI output for the switcher. But as you can see we more or less had to tear the camera appart to balance it :) Anyone got a more user friendly idea or solution to balance it ?
Thanks for answering my question from the previous video with a dedicated film - I feel honoured! 😄 Seriously though, I'm 50/50 on this - maybe I'll get the gimbal once my warranty runs out.
My biggest issue is continuous autofocus. Everything about this is perfect but my subjects like to move around a lot on stage when I am livestreaming and this would be perfect for that but only being able to use blackmagic cameras means no continuous auto focus. Can I use a Sony FX3 or FX30 with this system?
Any chance we might be able to control sony cameras with the bluetooth of the apc-r and integrate it in your ecosystem? I have 3 rs-3 gimbals with sony a6400 and 18-110 powerzooms and your interface for making it a proper ptz is exactly what i was trying to achieve..
Following!! I use blackmagic cameras for livestream but I use Sony for my main cameras since they have auto focus(center cameras). I would love to add active track to the center cameras and have them folllow my subject when they move around on stage AND have continuous autofocus with my sony cameras. Hopefully they will work with this system.
The gimbal can handle the wait of the 6K no sure of the red komodo, how ever i wished DJI had increase the payload and add a bigger battery or battery addon mounting solution like the Zhuyin crane 3S. just I would really like to use the 3D focus of the DJI RS2
Have you come up with a good way to make remote changes to a Sony A6400. I have 4 that I use for live events, and I would love to to make 3 of them ptz. I use the Sigma 24-70 2.8 Art, but am looking to upgrade to the Tamron 35-150 when they hit the market. Thank you.
Where did you get the servo for the lens? Can this be used and hooked up on a normal tripod without the gimble? Please respond, I've been looking everywhere for something like this.

I plan to use this set up in the future for Church as the PTZ Cam. My question is: Do you have to rebalance the camera after switching it off (with the RS2)? I'm not sure if I have to go up to the camera to rebalance it every Sunday.
@@krime2001 Range is short. For a stage, or for public events, it is very short. PTZ cameras should work ALMOST automatically :) These are additional cameras. This system its most like a Fly-by-Wire.
Yes you’re totally right. We were more thinking of small studios here. For live events Iet’s hope Blackmagic will partner with someone to make its own lens someday.

Did counterweights on the RS2 arms not work out? (Smallrig make some I think)
@@bentomlin Should have thought about that! Indeed
Has anyone tried the counterweights?
What about using the DJI RS3/pro?
How did you manage to keep it balanced when zooming? I have a Ronin S and if I zoom it throws off the balance.

Actually you can also balance it using counterweights!
Another AWESOME video - its like you have a direct line of vision into my mind of everything I want to build! But with my PK6Pro 😀
Thanks a lot!
Locking forward to a new video with the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 !
Great stuff! So now we wait for the micro camera... hahaha
Definitely!
I love this channel so much!!
Thank you !!

Hi, can try check if BMD Studio Camera 4K Pro can work well with DJI new RS3 Pro ?
Any updates if the system works with the new RS3 Pro?
Another great video Thibaud!!
Thanks Péter!

0:49 has me upset! I wouldnt dare open up a BMSC4K , but then its not designed to go on an RS2 in the first place so...
I would be more than welcoming to a new Version of the Boxshaped Micro Camera from BMD to kick Komodo Asses XD
We gotta ask....how about this setup just substituting with the new Micro Studio Camera 4K G2?
Yes ! This micro will be perfect !
does this work also when i dont have a atem mini ?
I think the blackmagic 6k and red Komodo will be amazing if the gimbal can handle the weight

how did you power the camera?
So I guess, this won't work with a B4 lens? Or will it if I add some counter weight on the camera itself?
Definitely not, since you're going to have to pull the camera backwards and the camera is going to touch the rear bar.

What size are the tiny star screws on the bottom of the camera? I've tried and am afraid I might strip them.

Incredible gear
what about canon, pansonic and sony cameras? can i use them?
Have you trie this with the newer BMD Micro Studio Camera yet?
Yes ! Check out our latest video !
What is the lens for the camera?
Olympus 12-100 F4, we keep using it again and again it's our favorite given the range.

No, not usually, unless something moves
Greaaaaaaaaat
Can the DJi rs2 work on a camera crane
how do u get to power with out cable
Do you this think the new gen 2 micro studio from Blackmagic would be better suited based on specs ?
Yes ! It’s perfect. We can’t wait to make a video as soon as we get it
Cool!
So is the BMPCC 4K better than BPCC 6K for this setup?
Yes BMPCC4K
Autofocus?
You could use the DJI 3D Focus module if you really wanted autofocus.

You do realize that you lock off the axis’s you are not balancing.
Yes indeed, the way we balanced it wasn't ideal
All of this is cute, but you're restricted to about a 3-5x max optical zoom which is useless for live events. Try again.
There are camcorders with 12x to 20x optical zoom that could fit on this setup
@@avdude4654 Yes, those would be great. I'm talking about the Blackmagic camera which the video specifically references.

@@MiddleThings One can hope. Thank you for the clarification.
Cute comment, but 12-100 is 8x, and can be perfectly useful for live events depending on the camera's location and the nature of the event.
