Dean is my favorite overall entertainer. The singer, the actor, the comedian -- top-notch in every category! You should listen to his song, My Heart Reminds Me. Just so very beautiful!! If you haven't watched it yet, you MUST see the 2021 TCM documentary, Dean Martin: King Of Cool. Excellent presentation of an extraordinary man and the incredible life he had. BTW - his nickname, King Of Cool, was first bestowed upon him by none other than Elvis Presley, & it stuck, for very good reason!! Dean also starred in some great movies. The Caddy (1953), with Jerry Lewis, is SOOOO much fun!!! Ocean's 11 (1960), with the Rat Pack, is a hoot!! In 1966, Dean did The Silencers, the first of 4 movies as Matt Helm, an international spy who's the perfect mix of 007 & Dean's most lovable persona. You can't help have a good time while you're watching. He also gave many phenomenal performances as a serious actor. The Young Lions (1958) was his first attempt, & he received much critical acclaim. Rio Bravo (1959) is an excellent Western, & arguably Dean's finest performance. Toys In The Attic (1963) is another great one. So is Airport (1970). So very many more to choose from!!!
This song was written first for Rosemary Clooney in 1954. Bob Merrill was on a deadline and came up with tune while in an Italian restaurant. He wrote the lyrics on a napkin, went to a payphone and called a piano player for Mitch Miller's Band and hummed the tune to him. The rest is history. The mambo was the hit dance before Rock and Roll came along. Dean does the tune justice for sure. Great instruments and Dean's great vocal made for a hit. Great reaction Harri. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Legendary Dean Martin! He was a member of the ultra-cool Rat Pack - the group of entertainers in the 40-50s. Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra were also members.
I from Wisconsin i helped this disabled woman in my neighborhood whenever she needed help with some little project..Somehow the conversation got to Dean Martin and her Father knew him they were friends whenever he was in the area.I think he was a bricklayer before he became famous.
One of my favorite singers ever. You need to check out Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes & Your Nobody till Somebody Cares. Probably two of his biggest hits. Houston was very good also
Thanks for this reaction Harri. Loved hearing this. Reminds me of when my Dad’s cousins in Italy came to Canada as immigrants in the 50s. The one singer they loved listening to and singing along with was Dean Martin. He was very big with the Italian community. 👏👏😊
Love your reactions, the variety & breadth of artists you react to. I SO wish you'd react to Pink --her "Try" vid, or 2010 Grammy performance (that's literally breathtaking!!), her new "Trustfall," ...."What About Us" & "Irrelevant" (another incredibly moving video) have strong messages.....just about any Pink video!! She is amazing.
This is the introductory song to the movie married to the Mob starring Michelle Pfeiffer , great great movie it is originally sung by Rosemary Clooney in this movie . Yeah I just started listening to Dean Martin singing it, sorry Rosemary Clooney Does it Better.
I LOVE Dean Martin!
Rosemary Clooney also had a great version of this song.

Wayyyy back and still a classic!
Harri..I agree with you..He is a great swooner..
This song was used in “Married to the Mob” in 1996 and in “Mickey Blue Eyes “ in 1999!
Harri, this song was also covered by Rosemary Clooney ( the aunt of George)
I never knew that George's aunt was Rosemary. Thanks for this lineage info.
My mother had Rosemary Clooney's version. Great song from a great singer!
Such a great cha cha song. Love Dean Martin.
Dean Martin, one of The Kings of Cool!
Name one person cooler. Do not say Barack Obama!
@@trhansen3244 Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley.
@@mikebattista1523 No. No. Maybe. Elvis I will allow. The others you must delete immediately.
He was born Dino Paul Crocetti, so he did a lot of Italian songs. 😆
Love Dino and I had this song on a list I will have you know Harri!!! 😅

Love him !I love his Christmas album I play it every year❤❤❤❤❤❤
Harri, You should look up his variety show. We don’t have things like that today…..
Great song. My friend played in a lounge band and they covered this song. Great fun. Thanks
Remember watching Dean doing it on a black and white tv.
Dino was the definition of hip and cool.
It's apparently intended as a nonsense song mixing Napoli Italian idioms with English idioms....
' Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime'
Most folks prefer Frank Sinatra over Dean Martin but, folks, Dean is waaaaaayyyy smoother than Frank could ever be.
I love Rosemary clooney's version best absolutely I love this song.
Rosemary Clooney is the original singer. She is also George Clooney's aunt.
Have you done 'Mack the Knife'? Dean Martin does a good version.

The Rosemary Clooney version of this song is great. You should check it down.
For some interesting comments on him, see Bob Dylan's PHILOSOPHY OF MODERN SONG.

Dean Martin/Sway (D J ZsuZsu Roll's Roize Remix)
There's a video performance of Dean performing Mambo Italiano: ua-cam.com/video/3M2eAeWfINk/v-deo.html
Preferisco la versione di Renato Carosone
