Thank you for sharing your story......it was beautiful and made me tear up. I watched a documentary about the connections we have in our brain to things that can transcend dementia and alzheimers, and music is definitely one of the main things. Watching them take music from earlier decades into a nursing home had me crying like a baby. God bless you and your family.
Dean Martin was a part of THE RAT PACK in the 1960's. The group included Dean, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. With their stage act in Vegas, they defined an era of "SOPHISTICATED COOL". And before then, he was one half of the comedy team "LEWIS and MARTIN" with comic-actor JERRY LEWIS. They made some of the funniest movies of the 1950s. Dean Martin, along with his peers, are well worth looking into!
Dino is pure Italian ❤ He was so popular on tv or in Vegas & acting in movies ! He, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis, Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford were the COOL Team back in their heyday! We watched his wonderful tv show every week, he had his cool team join him quite often as well as Nat King Cole, Perry Como (also Italian ❤), Doris Day, Patty Page, Connie Francis (Italian ❤) and so many more actors, comedians, & wonderful singers !! 💎💎💎✨
Correct the first time, Deano was an American through and through with Italian heritage. How we miss "The Rat Pack" I can still see Frank, Deano and Sammy singing together and having a little dig at each other, great memories
Yes, Dean Martin was of Italian heritage as his parents were Italian immigrants and his real name was Dino Crocetti. As child, I used to love watching old movies of him and the late comedian Jerry Lewis, better known as Martin and Lewis. As others have said by the 1960s after he and Lewis went their separate ways, he became part of the rat pack that included other popular singer/actors of that time. He had such a great romantic singing voice, RIP to him and Jerry Lewis, and the other rat pack members. Great reaction.
Dean Martin is the pseudonym of Dino Paolo Martino Crocetti. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on June 7, 1917 from a family of Italian origin. His father, Gaetano Alfonso Crocetti, was an Italian immigrant originally from Montesilvano (a city now in the province of Pescara, at the time in the province of Teramo), while his mother, Angela Barra, was born and raised in the United States by Italian parents, also 'they originate from Abruzzo.
I absolutely adore The Rat Pack ...I love their movies "Oceans 11" (the original) and my favourite, "Robin and The Seven Hoods". I always wished I could have seen them live. I loved Dean Martin (Dino) most of all as a singer and an actor. Wonderful.
I am now 83 and still expect to hear Deano songs when I have an Italian meal out, I am privileged to have been around and heard the best two Italian singers Dean Martin and Pavarotti
Dean Martin is from my home town Steubenville Ohio, my Uncle Geno's mother had a grocery store and when Dean was little his mother would bring him into her store and he would sing to get a free ice-cream cone 😊
Love this. Watch the movie Moonstruck with Cher and Nicholas Cage. This song is featured in the movie. Dean is a crooner and actor. He was in movies in the 50's and 60's and was a pretty good actor as well as crooner. He was partners with Jerry Lewis, famous comedian back then, and did movies and night club acts with Jerry. Dean was part of the Rat Pack with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr and did lots of Vegas shows with them. Great reaction. Cheers from Canada
I am Italian Puerto Rican from New Jersey. But I grew up with my Italian family because my mom and my dad divorced my mom’s Italian my father is Puerto Rican anyway, I grew up, listening to Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Jerry vale, who is my favorite, and all of the other amazing artists of that time. I feel blessed being able to grow up and sitting around with my grandfather and listening to this amazing music.
He is THE KING OF COOL no doubt, plan and simple. The 50s and 60s is part of all music everyone grew up to. Yall Definitely check out the OG of Ocean's 11
For many years Dean was the most highly paid entertainer in America. As well as being a great singer, he made many films and his Dean Martin Show ruled on television. He oozed charm, was self-deprecating, had great comedic timing and usually appeared with a drink in his hand. One of the great entertainers of the 20th Century.
You have to listen to his first Number 1 hit: Everybody Loves Somebody. The Beatles had one hit after another and another and another..... Then one night at dinner, after Dean let his kids see The Beatles in concert, his son Ricci asked his dad if he could make a number one hit. Dean's response was: "Yeah, I think I can knock them out of the number 1 spot." In 1964, his only number 1 hit Everybody Loves Somebody was the only song that knocked the Beatles out of the top spot. After his kids got to see Elvis in concert, Elvis told them "I may be the King of Rock and Roll, but your dad is the "King of Cool."
Dean Martin was once a boxer when he was 15, he called himself 'kid crochet', he also had a variety show back in the 70's, he was an actor and did comedy work with Jerry Lewis, they were a comedy duo. I always liked his songs "Everybody Loves Somebody" and "Welcome To My World". I can't remember the year he passed away, but I definitely remember the day, it was Christmas day, of all days, it had to be Christmas day, so very sad, he was a great talent and well loved.
First introduced in the movie "THE CADDY" (A Martin & Lewis classic 1953). Dean is a member of the famous "Rat Pack " along with Sinatra, Davis jr. Bishop and Lawford.
"You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You", "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime", "I Will", "In the Chapel In the Moonight", "Memories Are Made of This", "Houston".
Dean is Italian through and through. His voice is very sensual. One of Frank Sinatra's best friends (alongside Sammy Davis Jnr - who you must react to) he first came to fame as an actor playing the straight guy to comedian Jerry Lewis. I could listen to him singing all day long.
You know how they say that Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's day ? Well when You listen to Dean Martin You become ITALIAN 🇮🇹 So welcome to the club , Paisano and Paisana 🇮🇹
Dean Martin is one of my favorite of all times. He was so talented. He did movies, sang. He did it all. If you really love comedy too he did a comedy hour with jerry Lewis in the 50s called Colgate comedy hour. Ain’t that a kick in the head is great too. His voice is sooo great
@@sabinabrozynski9215 But toward the end of his life he suffered from depression, first the untimely death of his son and then his lung cancer diagnosis. He got hooked on pills and did start drinking a lot. It was sad how he went out.
He has done many great songs you schould react to . Like : ” In the chapel of the moonlight”,” you would like that !😍 And ” let it snow, let it snow, let it snow”, christmas song . ” Lay some happiness on me ” ,fenomenal ! Great to dance to. You get happy . ❤️ ” The door is still open to my heart ”, lovely ! ” open up the door and let the good times in ”,” you’ve still got a place in my heart ”, ” in the mostly moonlight”, ”Little Ole wine drinkar me ” yes,he liked to drink and in the movie ” Rio bravo ,he played a drunk.” ” Papa likes mambo”. There are so many ,he also starrred in several movies ,one with John wayne and Ricky Nelson ,” Rio Bravo” I think it was . The movie even had a title song with that name ,that he sang .
Dean Martin was known as The King of Cool, a name bestowed upon him by none other than Elvis Presley! There is an excellent, & brand new, documentary about Dean that just premiered this month on TCM. He was one of the biggest stars of all, for many years, as a singer, actor, comic -- an all-around entertainer extraordinaire. Very few performers, to this day, can match Dean's accomplishments with huge record sales, top nightclub act, acclaimed actor with a string of hit movies -- drama, comedy, musicals, & his favorite, westerns -- AND he was the host of one of the most popular TV series (in the history of TV) for nine years ('65-'74). Huge library of songs to choose from & enjoy. His live stuff is very entertaining, but rarely without comedic touches, so it's a great way to see the overall entertainer he was, but listen to the studio records to truly appreciate Dean's marvelous style with a song. Everybody Loves Somebody is his signature song, & it's a beauty!! Ain't That A Kick In The Head is one of my favorites. Sway & An Evening In Roma are also GREAT!!! Dean Martin is a rabbit hole you'll be very happy to explore, as deep as you can go. He's that much fun!! 😍
I could listen to him sing Italian all day. Dean only speak Italian up until he went to school, so he was bought up as Italian/American early on. He always was self-conscious of his English early on. He drop out of school early on. He did everything from deal cards in a backroom set up when gambling was illegal to being a amateur boxer. He would say out of his fight he only won one. He got with a band as a singer making very little. Some way ong he meant Frank Sinatra, one time when Frank (also Italian) was sick he was asked to cover for him. That was about the time he 1st meant Jerry. And as the saying go the rest is history.ß
Has a long time Dean Martin fan I am honored that you would be paying attention to this song That's Amore. That's my theme song everything's giving I sing that song with a drumstick to all the guests and it is a crack up time so thank you for posting this video it's awesome I'll be hanging out on this channel happy trails
💖💖💖💖He is the BEST, he have a nice warm voice. ....... That's Amore, He was a Warm Voiced Italian with a lot of Humor, He make's a lot of Lady's Happy with his laugh.
It doesn't get any more ITALIAN than Dean Martin 🇮🇹 And you are exactly the kind of genuinely Loving couple he sang his songs for ❤️ some other songs of his I think you would love are "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime" "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You" and "Ain't That A Kick In The Head"
You both are so cute. Bless you. Dean Martin was an Italian crooner and this great romantic song is Italian. Its favorite of my family. AMORE forever. TY for reacting!
Love Dean Martin! His variety show was a must see back in the day. He hated rehearsing . So many mistakes would happen during the show. Really fun show. A great singer. Much more fun seeing him singing live. He was funny. And had great charisma.
❤️🥰❤️ Dean Martin is ALL Italian, ALL day, every day!! When I was I kindergarten I used to pretend he was my husband!!! 😁😂🤣❤️ I listen to his greatest hits whenever I make spaghetti sauce and meatballs, or any other Italian food (I’m Italian/Irish/Norwegian/English/German - MOSTYLY - Italian/Irish). I sing along with Dean, and I swear it makes the sauce taste perfecto!!! ❤️ PLEASE PLAY “ SWAY” next.
Fantastic singer,. Had a variety show from maybe mid 60s to mid 70s, very successful! Two biggest hits maybe EVERYBODY LOVES, SOMEBODY and YR NOBODY TILL SOMEBODY LOVES YOU. Many more great songs. Definitely one of my favorite singers.
Dean is my favorite crooner his voice is so smooth and sexy ! Christmas is coming and he has some great Christmas songs . Baby it’s cold outside and it’s a marshmallow world are musts
Thanks for the Dean Martin love ❤️ he is definitely Italian lol 🇮🇹 I grew up with this.. grandparents favorite 🤌🏼🥰 Thanks for bringing me back 👌🏼I love you in Italian is “Ti Amo” ❣️
Y'all should react to everybody loves somebody my all-time favorite song by Dean Martin. Elvis was a big fan of Dean Martin you can tell Elvis was influenced by him. I love the reaction. I love that y'all are doing this kind of music it's awesome.
You would love Dean's song "Ain't That A Kick In The Head." One of my favorites! But now that you've done Dean and Frank, you need to do Sammy Davis, Jr. The Rat Pack were the epitome of Cool. 😎 I also would LOVE for you to react to my all-time favorite singer, Ella Fitzgerald. Anything she did was perfection, but I'll suggest "Summertime" 1968.
It’s Italian!!!!!!! Dean Martin, the King of Cool, that’s what Elvis called him…..he’s incredible. A great rabbit hole to go down…..try “I Will “..,,,”Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On”…..He knocked the Beatles out of the #1 slot on Billboard with his song “Everybody Loves Somebody”….
Dean was Italiano. He is singing in Italian. React to "Kick in the head" Listen to the recorded version. Not live. You can really hear the orchestra on recorded version.
This song was written for the movie "the caddy" starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, the audience's loved it so much they called radio stations asking for it,it became one of Dean's biggest hits.
They just released a documentary on Dean Martin. His daughter had a live broadcast on Facebook during the show. Dean Martin: The King of Cool. Yes Italian, from the same town in Italy as my grandparents, the region of Abruzzi. Deana Martin, his daughter knew Elvis. He said to her, they call me the King of Rock and Roll but your Dad is the King of Cool. He was a incredible singer, actor, comedian, Las Vegas stage resident and great Dad. He performed with Hollywood royalty as a member of the Brat Pack with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. In the 70’s he was extreme successful on Tv with the first variety show that ran for nine years. I grew up in a similar Italian home. He was home for dinner every night with his seven children and wife. Although he was my parents generation of music, we always played his records at home. My favorite song is…. Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime. Please react to it. His voice is like a combination of love and romance, Italian family culture and rich decadent chocolate. And…. I hope you get to watch the documentary. Thanks!
ITAILIAN!!!! There's a great quote decades apart that said that Dean Martin and then so much later Jesse Martin (Law and Order - RENT) were so talented because they could do it all; sing, dance, act, and no one could compare.
I know I keep posting about Dean Martin video I find on UA-cam. I just found the sweetest video of his. It help f dispel the rumor that he was just out for the lady's. People don't realized he felt his 1st job was to be a father to his 7 kids. Then he adopted another when married his 3rd wife and she had a daughter. What I found tonight was entitled... Dean Martin ...Brahm's Lullaby, there are some family pictures with him and his kids. It will show him in a completely different light that many people think of him. 1st and most of all he was a family man. Think people might enjoyed this video

This song was my grandma’s favorite song. It was her 50th wedding anniversary song. The last time I saw her alive she didn’t know me, my mom, my dad, or my sister. She was in the final stages of dementia. I had heard that music is linked to strong memories. As a last ditch effort I played this song on my phone. The second those strings started playing, the clouds in her eyes lifted and she remembered everything. She was singing along to every word. At one point she looked at my dad (her son) and said “Sing with me Kenny!”. He started tearing up. For three and a half minutes we had my grandma back. And then it ended.
One of my favourite singers for many years, pure silk, hello from Ireland
He was a decent actor as well...
Dean was like no other, great singer, comedian, actor, and his music just kisses you softly, and you never forget it.
Used to hear this quite often when I was young. I'm old but this hit never gets old. 👍😀😀😀
My favorite guy!!! Total package!! "SWAY" Is another of his great songs.
You both are so cute. Bless you. Dean Martin was an Italian crooner and this great romantic song is Italian. Its favorite of my family. AMORE forever. TY for reacting!
You guys are so awesome and Mel with her gorgeous face and voice she’s awesome! Love you both! ❤️
Yes, he's Italian (Dino), and so is Frank Sinatra. Dean has a very unique voice. My parents loved him and I grew up with him and also love him

Love Dean Martin! Died on Christmas Day 1995. So sad. It's Italian, as is Dean. Italian was his first language.
He was the epitome of cool back in the day!
Bella! Beautiful! Bravo Bravo!
From the UK and I have been to Italy a few times , this is still a popular song, hearing it makes the sun shine for me Cheers
Y'all should react to everybody loves somebody my all-time favorite song by Dean Martin. Elvis was a big fan of Dean Martin you can tell Elvis was influenced by him. I love the reaction. I love that y'all are doing this kind of music it's awesome.
Every time! I see your reactions 🥰💕like two Love Birds 🤗😬
amore - italian, amour - french Liebe - german, Greetings from Germany!
You would love Dean's song "Ain't That A Kick In The Head." One of my favorites!
But now that you've done Dean and Frank, you need to do Sammy Davis, Jr.
The Rat Pack were the epitome of Cool. 😎
I also would LOVE for you to react to my all-time favorite singer, Ella Fitzgerald.
React to "Kick in the head"
Listen to the recorded version. Not live. You can really hear the orchestra on recorded version.
Go with your instincts, yes Italian. Loving the music. Should do more Motown. Xx
I like to listen to Dean Martin and others in that genre when I cook Italian food lol, it makes it fun. ♥️
This song was written for the movie "the caddy" starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, the audience's loved it so much they called radio stations asking for it,it became one of Dean's biggest hits.
Yes he was part of the Rat Pack, also an actor he also had his own variety show on T V
Thanks!
My grandma's family is from L'Aquila but I keep hearing the region as Abruzzi and Abruzzo. Is it like a preference to what it can be called?
He was an American Italian.
His music was HUGE in Italy as well as the US. He also starred in several movies. So smooth and handsome.
ITAILIAN!!!! There's a great quote decades apart that said that Dean Martin and then so much later Jesse Martin (Law and Order - RENT) were so talented because they could do it all; sing, dance, act, and no one could compare.
when I was a teenager I used to imitate his voice just a little bit enough to make my mom laugh.
Love Dino...
Dean Martin love his voice. " I Don't Know Why(I Just Do)". " Volare " " Ain't That A Kick in the Head".
Our home town boy...Born in Steubenville, Ohio, great song 🎵 Loved your reaction ❤
As an Italian American, this was the norm in our home. Love Dino!!
He was a amazing actor as well!

A great old 1950s song from Dean. Great music in the 50s! Dean Martin, (or Martinelli) if you didn't know, was Italian!
This was like Dean Martins theme song - his most memorable hit.
Awww...you 2 seem blessed with amore🙂🙂🙂
