Q: Can I send you a deck to check out?
A: Only patrons can send me decks and expect a reply, because I get too many of these requests to manage. Consider joining the discord (links above) and posting your decks in the #decks channel for community feedback.
Q: Why didn’t you play this certain card I would play?
A: Because I don’t think it is as good as every other card in the deck.
Q: Why did you make that play at time stamp XX:XX?
A: I usually talk through my plays, so watch again and see if I mention it (I often do, sometimes during the turn after the play to keep the video moving). If I don’t mention it at all, I may have missed it. I miss plays several times a day, and so do other players.
Q: How can I support the channel?
A: Watching the videos IS supporting the channel. There are many options above if you have extra money and would like to help more. I appreciate it, I have a lot of bills and life stuff to manage, but it is not required. Take care of yourself first, watch the videos, then give other financial support if you really want to.
Q: Will you play janky deck xyz?
A: My mission is to show people decks that they can play often, win games with, and feel successful with. I don’t enjoy decks that strive to achieve an interaction but rarely win (aka, janky decks). There are many successful jank players on UA-cam, and you should check out their channels. I am competitive, I like winning, and I like helping others win and feel successful. That is why you won’t see janky combo decks on the channel very often.
Q: Do you show all your games, or do you edit out your losses?
A: I don’t show all my games. The video is usually the best moments of between one and three hours of recording. I remove games for a number of reasons, both wins and losses. Some games are slow, some aren’t competitive because of lands, some are the same matchup over and over. More losses get cut out than wins because winning is more fun for me, which makes for better content for most viewers. It can be disappointing for those who want to see me lose (yes, people watch just to see me lose, I see you!).
Q: If you edit out some of your losses, how do I know if a deck is good and worth crafting?
A: If you watch the entire video, I always give my honest opinion about the deck at the end. As always, you are welcome to draw your own conclusions. My goal is to show off a variety of decks that can get a player with skill and conviction into Mythic, and I want them to have fun doing it. I almost never show a video of a deck that I don’t believe in, and if I don’t like a deck after playing it, I guarantee you will know about it if you watch the whole video and listen to what I have to say.

@@maskettaman1488 someone who is hostile and creates an environment where other people can’t have fun. For example people who use emotes to taunt their opponents. Even at the most competitive levels, athletes are supposed to show sportsmanship. Magic is just a game

Love you CGB. What makes great content is that when you say things like “it’s ok, it’s a content play” we know you really mean it... but we also know that you want to win, and that it’s killing you inside 😄. That tension is real, and makes me so much more invested to watch.
I run a slightly different version of this deck that has luminous broodmoth. As well as shatter the skies and doomskar. Alsied and selfless can be used twice each w broodmoth when you drop a dest all. W lurrus they are effectively infinite. This strategy may be a little less straightforward but I assure you it stomps ass in a big way. Oh yeah and putting fight as one on the sideboard is very very useful at times and will often help you surprise kill a blocker that your opponent thinks is trading for your better creature
Great deck - The shift to add a Lurrus really adds value, had a few great games beating giants, poisons, etc. Thanks for the deck CGB!

I drew a halvar release day and i crafted a 2nd one. After watching this im glad i did. Im running mono white and using pro color of choice spells for creature protection. Also allows me to run through a wall if my opponent is tapped out. Makes for a good win con at times.

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that hushbringer allowed the opponent to play Kraxa early without needed to sacrifice it.

I have been splashing black and running mono white as a cleric deck. Turn 3 angel into turn 4 Vito is usually a scoop.
I've forgotten to make an Angel a few times in my day too 😆
The only decks I have lost to is those poison counter/deathtouch decks. 10 poison counters comes at you fast!
So I decided to build this deck because it looks fun and powerful. I ran short on wild cards so I have everything except the Faceless Havens, Hushbringers, Lurrus and the Linden. I'm like 14-2 with this deck. Lots of fun to play and very powerful. I put in some life gain instants to help with Valkyrie and Speaker of the Heavens.
Was hoping for the "you're cool" at the end.
Here's a funky idea: God/Snow toolbox with Search for Glory. It looks for Lurrus, Linden, Heliod, Halvar, Sigrid, Reidane, and it also looks for snow lands incl. Faceless Haven.
I thought Righteous Valkyrie would be better, she acts like a winmore card at the moment, everytime you hit the +2/+2 you would have won anyway without it. Reidane seems kind of better in this meta, at least she would have prevent some Extinction event or Ultimatum and being able to attack and block is something really relevant.
She’s much better in life gain decks honestly but all around just a very very strong card
@@ecclesiaandune687 I mean this deck is already pretty heavily packed with lifegain, Hushbringer, Heliod, Speaker of the Heaven, Alseid, Linden. I don't think this card is that strong, a +2/+2 maybe effect isn't really what you want for 3 mana. You want resilience, protection, recursive threat, card advantage, something like Lurrus or like Reidane that protect your whole board from an Extinction, or delay Henge, Embercleave, Doom, ECD, ect.
I would rather play Heliod over the Valkyrie, Heliod is harder to remove, make your board bigger and provide consistent lifegain.

@@elerai1496 Well it only provides +2/+2 in specific conditions that's why. And when you hit these specific conditions, you're already winning and Speaker of the heaven can already fill the board with 4/4.
A 3 drops that doesn't impact the board the turn it comes to play and doesn't provide any protection for itself or your board, is lickely to be unplayable. If it has vigilance like Reidane maybe. Maybe this is not her home, the problem is Clercs and Angels's decks are not competitive decks, shine in a tier 3 deck is kind of irrelevant.
I play Righteous Valkyrie in my Orzhov Clerics Lifegain deck and its super strong, especially if you can chain 2 or 3 valkyries, you get +6/+6 on everything then and thats crazy, also that means clerics enter the battlefield with +6/+6 for example Orah enters as 9/9 so I get healed for 27 life and mynboard is proteced from removal by him and by new Kaya, and card advantage I get from Cosmos Elixir

It's not a good card against control and you don't need the lifegain or the +2/+2 effect against creature deck, you already can crush Gruul, Monogreen food whihout it. It's a winmore card imo without protection or protective effect for your board. He is right about playing Reidane over her.
@@KayleJudicator I can't tell you how often it's saved me, righteous call into 6 Mana starnheim has saved me from 2-5 life and given me time to stabilize.

I was speaking from a competitive point of view, because it's all that matter to me, what is doing well at tournaments. And your deck is no where to be seen because it's not tier 1.
Righteous doesn't see any real play at the moment, if she finish by see real play it will be in a monowhite aggressive shell, not in a angel deck with starnheim btw.

Vigilance + lifelink is always great. Especially with an indestructible enchantment like a bronze hide lion to always block without dying even with death touch
If Bronzehide Lion was Monowhite it would definitely see play, he synergise well with Halvar. Holding 2 mana is a real cost although.
@@KayleJudicator yeah but it is a saving grace if you brick lands, keeps your life up long enough to turn around. If bronzehide was mono I think it would probally cost more
@@MinthZe If there were more reasons to splash green, it could be good, but right now make the manabase worst and hurt the curve for one card is not worth it. The fact bronzehide lion came back as enchantment attached to a creature make this a free way to get double strike to something with Halvar, it's so tempting, of course a 3/3 for 2 that doesn't die to Bonecrusher is also really tempting.

in that last game you didnt even need to do the math as you can sac an Alseid to give a guy pro-white which was way over lethal.
Otherwise put a counter on the god 7/7 flying double strike plus 2 damage from hushbringer
I made it back to mythic with Grixis Snow Foretell super easy climb back I've had.

Never played meta mono-white deck because I do not want to craft the rares and mythics cards, so I have been wondering what mono-white usually gets matched with because the cards seem op. So they usually meet Yorion deck lol.

taranika is such a fun card, i liked running her with glorious anthems in my mono white shell as well, since im seeing more mono red and gruul again i might resurrect that build
@@blurglebox For sure, just played ranked up to Platinum and Taranika just shined in that deck. Linden is good but if you only have Linden and bunch of 1/1 you can't really attack, Taranika makes that into nie swing :) Also just realized I did not put any snow lands in, that haven is a must card! @@blurglebox Unless Taranika is not a good card against monored, a 3/3 for 3 that does nothing in turn 3 and die to a 1 mana spell frost bite isn't really something you bring up against monored. She is also bad against control, there is a reason why she saw no competitive play.
@@leimad13 To be honest you can hit platinium with the most messy list, hit platinium is not at all difficult, it's not an achievement. Taranika see no competitive play for a reason, a 3/3 for 3 without evasion or protection that doesn't do anything in turn 3, die to 1 mana spell frost bite and require to have others creatures on the board to be worth it, is why she never saw any play. You're weaknening your deck by playing her, you could play better 3 drops. Linden potentially impact directly the board the turn she comes in a lifegains strategy and with heliod she works well obviously. I'm not saying she is good but playing Taranika instead of Linden doesn't make sense as if Linden is played in a deck it means the deck care about lifegains.

Made some changes to this deck, but if it hits this is amazing
with decks im seeing on ladder lately im theory crafting some sort of green white hate deck being fun to combat a chunk of the meta. drannith magistrate, husbringers, yasharn, reidane, vorinclex, some other goodies. could be a fun time
Poor Magistrate.... Completely failed to contain Adventures until WotC had to slam the ban hammer on 1/3 of that pile and now we have the Foretold mechanic yet I stil have the feeling it will be an underplayed card.

@@blurglebox Let me know if anything works. I have a full set of them and nowhere to stick em. Thought about running them the first couple weeks of Kaldheim but I'm not personally seeing a lot of foretell cards being played.

Remember faceless haven has vigilance. Game 3 you could have attacked with the haven and then tapped it for mana to play the hushbringer.

Might be worth experimenting with 1 or 2 copies of Basri Ket, especially if you have vigilance dudes.
Or even just a single copy of Elspeth in case you run into rogues.

If there's a Righteous Valkyrie on the battlefield does the Faceless Haven becoming a creature trigger the gain life ETB?
the faceless haven is neither a cleric nor an angel. I think ihat the answer is no. The haven being already on the battlefield as a land, it becomes a creature but does not enter the battlefield. My guess is that it would not trigger anyway.

I've just started playing MTG Arena, is there a budget friendly version of this deck you would recommend? Or any common/uncommon replacements for any of the mythics and rares?
I use luminous broodmoth personally. Keep an alsied or selfless available to make sure it stays alive and you can pretty much swing for the fences since anything without flying comes straight back into play.
Like the other guy said, broodmoths are wonderful to start. As long as you can see and understand the core basis for your deck, add cards that revolve around it. So if you’re planning on playing around say Vito to deal damage through life gain, you’d want cards that give you life such as creatures with life link etc. arena is really good at allowing you to search for cards that you otherwise didn’t know existed. It’s always good to just scroll through the card selections and see if anything catches your eye that’ll work.
@@ryanbolson23 that is totally true. I have never had a standard deck as nasty as the one I have on there and despite having played the vast majority of my life I just got my account when they launched the mobile version. They make it a whole whole lot easier to form a serious competitive deck,. I would have never had the money needed for it.

Those are activated abilities not ETB effects or death triggers.
How was CGB able to determine what order the opponent was going to assign damage @23:00
I think the client shows the order of blockers left to right. So the left most creature would be dealt up to lethal damage, then the next. I kinda miss the days where attacker assigns combat damage. But whatever.

yeah attacker chooses, if they chose to go the other way around, the creatures would swap positions from left to right to indicate their order

Shut down Monogreen food completely, shut down Yorion deck relying on skyclave apparition to remove things and Yorion himself. The card is definitely good in this meta, but you can moove it to the sideboard.
@@KayleJudicator as a Yorion player I know that hushbringer can be annoying but with the right mix if removal it isn't a big problem. I was just wondering bc there are other 2 drops that could be there instead. But I guess the better question is, if it is worth to play both the hushbringer and the valkyrie.

@@this19suffering Monowhite play Selfless Savior and Alseid, so remove it isn't as simple. And now that Reidane see some play, you can't rely as consistently as before on Extinction event.
