This is such an underrated channel.
You have more useful information without any BULLSHIT as I have come across.
    I subbed.
    Thank you fellow climber!

Mine too! Videoracles is an amazing project! Thank you to the team for your amazing efforts! I love your website for climbing too. The UI is so clean and easy to use. I love the climber silhouette for the loading icon! Such a classy touch.

I like to carry a knife on my harness, especially on longer routes, but even on shorter sport routes it can come in handy. I have gotten stuck on rappel before, and the knife saved my bacon. Hair, loose clothing, etc can get sucked into the device and there you are and there you will stay until you cut yourself free. In my case, my third-hand autoblock jammed and I was unable to loosen it. Bad situation... FWIW: Buck makes a model that locks both open and closed. Highly recommended.

      Roddy's reply:
      Hi Jerry,
Yes, a knife is a key piece of equipment! I always carry one, too.
      Best,
      Roddy

Great advice! Come up with a system, use it consistently, and make sure your partner is good with it.
Saves tons of time on multi-pitch stuff. Don't see many people using gear slings any more, but that's always been my favorite way to rack gear. Just hand the sling off to your partner at the belay when swinging leads.
And yeah, "standard rack" means different things in different places.
Anyways, keep up the good work! Looking forward to new content.

From Australia. Super impressed by your site. 2 suggestions. Metolius make a gear sling that is cut on a bias, so it doesn't cut into your neck. I use some lambswool off a steering wheel cover to pad my sling where it rests on my neck/ shoulder.
