Glad to see you made it safely! Can’t wait for the next video!
Next video should be out in a few days. It will include all of the interviews. I had a separate them otherwise it would’ve been 2 1/2 hours long LOL
If the sale on that Scamp falls through I’ll give you 3,000 for it. 😆 On a more serious note I would actually give you nine for the FedEx truck tomorrow OK.
When you walked in and showed the Grand National next to that black Riv I started drooling.
Place of dreams
I love Buick. Glad to see them getting some love
I really love old Buick. Like the old saying goes “when better cars are built it will be Buick building them.”
Just another Buick lover!
I am really glad you all made it.
Ty man 🤙
Thank you.
Hey that trip was cool.I’m headed to my garage to break out my ‘70.gave me some fresh ambition.
That is great to hear! A little here and there and before you know it your rolling in style
I really love the1977 regal.
Great video, too bad we couldn't see you and Dylan hang out!
That video will be out tomorrow. Unfortunately if I kept all the interviews into this video it would have been 2 1/2 hours long
@@LunarOutlawsGarage just more to look forward to!
That 1965 Buick Rivera is my favorite of the Buick. The 1970 GSX is another one
That riviera is an absolute gem. They look like the ultimate villain car it’s amazing
What a trip! I can only imagine how you were able to edit that much drive time into a little over an hour. Awesome stuff! And thanks for stopping by in your journey. You’re turning me into a Buick fan 🤫
Buick’s are awesome cars man, and you won’t see a lot of them at car shows.
That salt and cold weather would be a deal breaker for me and the taxes and expenses of NY . WE get too much winter wether here in NC
It’s not that bad here in NC .
That was awesome video and good job of explain about the car
Ty man 🤙
Once upon a time I was a young boy about to turn 16 and buy my first car. I'd been driving since I was 12. I had my sights set on Camaros and Firebirds and a pocket full of cash. I even considered taking out a loan for one of the new IROC Z's. My Grandfather was never brand loyal and gave me some good advice. "Buy the most car you can get for the money. If you like Camaro, shop for Buicks and Oldsmobiles." By golly he was right. I bought a second hand Buick with a 455 and power everything. The kids on my block were spending entire paychecks for "speed parts" to keep up with it. One day, at the town stoplight, a fellow pulled away from me like I was standing still. I remember asking myself "What does GSX mean?"
Heck yeah man!! You picked up a GSX at the time that’s bad to the bone
Thanks for stopping by. Was a lot of fun meeting you and the car. Looking forward to seeing it soon!
Same here man you have an epic place down there.
There not struts they be shocks, sorry
Awesome journey! Glad the trip was a success!
Praise the Lord for watching over you
Quite the adventure. Glad you made it safely home.
Very awesome! looking forward to the next one
I love Buicks also. My first car in 1980 when I was 16 was a 1970 Skylark Coupe. It was red with black top and interior. Glad I found this channel.
There is just something about old Buick muscle cars. They combine luxury with power
That was a awesome road trip I’m a Buick man also I have a few rivieras and electra
Right on man great cars
I have a 62 Buick skylark I’m thinking of selling if you know anyone
There is several Facebook groups that would be a good place to sell it on
Always carry extra fan belts I do
Lol coming from building and working on cars with serpentine belts I gotta say in my older cars I carry extra fan belts now 😅
New to the channel - good video brotha! 💪🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼
Ty man. I hope you enjoy the projects and adventures
Love your channel! Please always show us what you do to get your carbureted engines started - love seeing what you do with the gas pedal and whatnot. Subscribed!
An epic road trip. I could feel the love for those old Buick's shining from the screen. Great people, great cars and a superb video.
I really dig what Logan said in the world of GM comfortable and fast only comes in a Buick 😁🤙
Awesome video dude!! EPIC trip.
Ty man it will be fun to take this on additional adventures next year when it’s together
What a great video. I have enjoyed watching your video's since I came across them after watching the AAR Buick Regal. I love watching those old cars being used as a daily driver (especially the blue GS at the old Buick parts place) I find it sad that a lot of these 40, 50 or 60 year old classics only drive as far as the garage to a trailer and back again. These were driven on the road as daily drivers for decades (I remember seeing early to mid 1970's cars being driven around in the late 1990's). I am a big fan of Buicks. They gave a great ride without the showiness of a caddy. However my favorite engines are the FWD 3.8v6/3800 V6 and the 3300 V6
That said I am living through you, Randy(AAR) Junkyard Digs, Vice Grip garage and Santa's Workshop when it comes to owning a older car with a carb. I did the carb car thing for years and think the greatest thing to happen to cars in the last 40 years was fuel injection. My 3 A body (RWD)/G Body Malibu/ Cutlass Supremes and the 1983 Chevette were the last carb cars I will ever own. it is FI cars for me now on. There is something about getting into a car, turning a key and not having to pump the gas pedal, hope it starts and then wait until it warms fully up. That 1987 Cutlass had a crazy stupid amount of vacuum lines. I also found it much easier to diagnose computer and fuel injection issues then chasing issues with 1980's carb cars. Keep up the good job with the vids
Lol your not kidding it is an experience.
Rusty pulleys shred v belts fast take some sandpaper and sand it off while the belts are off the balancer and do the water pump by spinning it as you hold the sandpaper in the v groove
Use wire wheel on pulleys with drill as the engine is turning
So Good Seeing You Rescued That Skylark In Texas Brian, She’s Going To Be So Sweet Once You Get That 455 Big-Block In It And Transform It All Into Your Dream Ride, You, Randy, Mike, Austin, Dereck, Dylan, Kevin, Luke, TK, All Inspire Me To Get To My Old Projects, I’ve Got A ‘68 427 Big-Block, Corvette Convertible, Sitting In My Storage, I’ve Gotta Finish Up.. very awesome a 1968 big block Corvette is a killer car
Thanks Man, It’s Very Personal To Me, My Dad’s Had It Since ‘70, He Passed It On To Me Once I Became Of Age, He’s Not With Us Anymore, But I’m Looking Forward To Getting It Rolling Soon, Placing A Smile On His Face From Heaven..
I am sorry for your loss. He will have a smile ear to ear watching you bring it back to life and he will be cheering you on when you do your first Burnout. 🤙
Thank You!! Looking Forward To Getting It Rolling, Doing That Burnout For Dad..
I can't believe I hadn't subscribed yet! I am now!
Thank you Big Mike very cool to see you here
Nice that it made it and you were innovative enough to get it home! Those are some sweet cars in that showroom.
Definitely! if only I had a suitcase full of cash for them lol.
Great car and video, love abandoned cars😎🔥
Same here man, and think you!
Great content dude and love the Skylark, it has a lot of potential imo.
Greetings from The Netherlands and keep up the good work 👊🏻😎
Thanks man🤙. The Netherlands is a beautiful place
Great video 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻. That car is awesome brother
Thank you very much man! The car is killer
That's a long trip by ur self. I went to FL on a Friday morning and back home Sunday it was 15hrs one way that was enough for me Lol
Lol I would highly recommend a co-driver for us road trips this long.
runner had 72 brand new skylark in that year family car was 4,200 ordered in chicago took it straight 2 days to miami fast car lasted till 1989 rusted thru floor board frm chicago salt winters ever see a charger mustang camaro 2022 do a burnout like that nope the chassis would fall off today with these wimp wagons i had a 75 monte carlo it lasted till 1998 drove it cross country with a huge uhaul trailer hitch 5 times the car was a mule huge muscle never ever see that power in cars anymore
I've been to tuscumbia Alabama Alabama before years ago
The people were very nice there
I really hate it when factory interiors are stripped out of old cars.
I have a full interior here at home
So cool you got to do this road trip and meet all those people in person. I waved as you went through Albany (just kidding). I enjoy your channel for all of the different vehicles you work on and the fact that you're close to me. It's like watching your neighbor or friend working on a car. 👍
Howdy Nabor 🤙. It was a great trip thank you for watching
Enjoyed your video! Looking forward to your disassembly of your dash in that Skylark. My 72 Skylark ragtop needs a rewire.
Nice a 1972. what color?
@@LunarOutlawsGarage The original color was Burnished Copper but it is a metallic root beer brown when I bought it.
That was a very enjoyable video... For a Yankees fan! LOL! Glad you made it home safe and I'm looking forward to see this come to fruition.
Ty man 😁🤙
i had a 1968 skylark back in the 1980's it was red with a white painted roof, i put a 455 in it back then and it immediately blew out the rear end and i put 12 bolt in it out of a chevelle with 3.31 gears and a posi, i bought most my parts back then from poston enterprise
that Skylark sounds like it was one heck of a monster!
i had a 1070 lesabre engine in it and headers and a cam from poston enterprise in it and 3000 tci stall converter in it lol
call it texas star
Lots of haters here... Thanks for the video man. Good stuff! Actually contemplating buying a 72 Skylark in the same condition
Thanks man. I hope you bought it they are great cars
STRUTS
That car is going to be a screamer but a sleeper. It’s going to take a lot of people by surprise. I should’ve kept my Cougar like that but I wanted a weekend coffee and cars driver.
Those old cougars have great body lines
The non-courteous drivers in New Jersey mainly consist of New Yorkers who've moved down here.
Haha!! Well played 🤣🤙
Well a better car to start building from and because it's nothing unique or special you can build it anyway you want. Pretty sure you have a 455 you could build up eventually for it. You have quite a varied fleet of cars and trucks to play with now and you have a ton of spare parts from the other car👍
Heck yeah man two weeks to repair Rust as opposed to two years
I'd take that Buick over Randy's Dart, any and every day.
Now that's a roadtrip!
I like that Buick and that burn out was awesome and what are the other yt channels you said that father and son and the other ones 😂 also I lost my phone sadly and I had to cough out $160 for a new phone😩
Sorry for just getting this message. It seems I missed a lot of notifications for this video
In 76 I tried to get my boss to sell me a 70w31 Buick with a 350, 400turbo n twelve bolt. Money was the only issue 😁 Triple black and certainly marked the bar high for Any other car. Congrats on your Buick and your blessed journey 🙏👍
That would’ve been a great car to nab. Thank you man I enjoyed the trip
You must be the lost son of Derek! This is crazy stuff, love it.
Haha it was an incredible adventure. I look forward to the next one
Just dawned on me when you mentioned Oklahoma roads that you are driving home from Texas, wow that is quite a hike for you.
It was quite the ride
Hey brother glad to see you it's been a while. We was will it run on a Pontiac and you sadly found out the frame was not so good. Wish you peace brother take car
E
That really sucks. It really hate when I find extreme frame damage. Takes the wind right out of your sails
@@LunarOutlawsGarage dude ur doing great stuff once in a while I check in and bro you been working your butt off. I'm with you I got a hurt back now but I can not not work. Great stuff man stay strong.
Where do you live I'm in Amsterdam NY is see a 71 Buick Skylark for somebody's yard for years just sitting there looks to be in decent shape in Galway New York
I live just east of Troy. If you could shoot me an email
@@LunarOutlawsGarage I don't know the people they have a few cars the yellow Skylark it's kind of in the weeds and I can't even tell if it's a 2 door or 4 car looks good it is next door to a tavern called the top notch it's closed down it's in Galway New York
I got to know what's been throwing your belts it's been keeping me up at night
Shocks not struts
Lol miss spoke it happens I work on cars of all eras and film in one take so it happens.
Hello Lunar Outlaw. The car looks great. How does it sound. Does it drive well. She looks good underneath.
It sounds great put in the killmat on the back and new weatherstripping really killed the rattles. The car handles very and tracks straight, with no dead zone in the steering.
You saw John up there in Tennessee did you go see Uncle Tony?
Unfortunately Tony has made it quite clear he very much dislikes me. I have tried to patch things up but it is what it is.
@@LunarOutlawsGarage well it happens.
Bridges get burned some can't be repaired
We just keep moving on and don't forget about it happens to many in life
Guessing that isn't the original engine going off the tappet covers.
It seems like the original engine but without looking at the numbers I won’t know.
@@LunarOutlawsGarage looks 80's to me but you know your American iron better than me.
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering Someone did repaint the valve covers black instead of Buick red which is strange.
@@LunarOutlawsGarage did you ever get that first car going? The one I binge watched when you first started the channel. Last I saw you had the chassis in the garage with an LS in it then other projects took your attention.
If that car doesn't Ike Texas cold, then how will it like New York cold,.
Those new gas cans, I break all the gizmos out and it works great.
I live in the same area as Vice grip and Dylan McCool, and its very green here in middle Tennessee.
That part of Tennessee is absolute beautiful
The trunk lid is worth the effort
Did you come up I95?
I think so
@@LunarOutlawsGarage I saw you
The lighting was kinda bad.... I couldn't see a thing
I appreciate the feedback. I don’t have a professional film crew behind me so I work with what I can. Where is the specific part of the film that you wanna reference. Again thank you
Where do we find donnie b's?

Where is the Buick Shop, do you have a Web adress?
Not a problem man www.oldbuockparts.com
@@LunarOutlawsGarage Thank you.
I enjoy your videos, my channel - Daniel McKenzie
I will check it out man 😁🤙
lol in your world that is nearly brand new.
Lol you’re not kidding this is a very solid car compared to what we have up in new year
THERE SHOCKS NOT SRUTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol I miss spoke I was working with little sleep and zero coffee.
I HATE burnouts.
Sorry that you feel that way. Sometimes they are just a fun way to celebrate a victory like driving 2500 miles
What an amateur, haaaa! You ran out of gas????? Haaaa,!!!! hey brother , you gotta turn that idle down, it's actually killing your milage, can't remember, 1100 rpm or mebbe 900, but that is like 15 to 1900 by my ear, ..... Not good...
Lol no gas gauge and just guessing what your fuel economy will be in a car that’s over 20 years off the road. Maybe your opinion but I think it would be an amateur if you didn’t bring a gas can and ran out of gas. Is technically speaking I never ran out of gas I was had a reserve 🤣🤙
@@LunarOutlawsGarage ehhh , I figured I gotta right to bust balls, but, yeah, used to live off the Hudson too, in Jersey.... man, you must spent a dam fortune feeding that gas tank with the idle way up like it was, and when you got home, before the burnout, it was still idling that high, you prolly spent hundreds more than you needed to, was that a live feed, from Texas?
Never sat Long enough to let it idle more than a few moments at a time. Fortunately I got lucky and got through all the highly congested places at obscenely late or early hours. I always say that high because it was the only way that it wouldn’t fall in its face if I let off the gas. Carburetor has a lot of issues including a failing Accelerator pump but it got me home without having to be replaced a rebuilt so I’m happy. Lol
The Lord our God is always great, Amen
