@dpatriot4130 you have only heard a small sampling of ost I hope to see more videos in the future and if you have any game related questions I can likely answer them.
Who has played this game? Seems like one I can get behind and continue to play. Thanks for watching! Feel free to jump into the discord: discord.gg/crhwJfES
I've put at least 1,000 hours into this game; it's really addictive, especially once you get good at it. The original Risk of Rain and its remake (Risk of Rain Returns) are 2d, but I personally prefer the openness and playstyle of Risk of Rain 2 more.
Nice gameplay for going in blind, just a couple tips, first the teleporter has particles around it, they look like red dust in the air. I highly recommend turning on a setting that makes it easier to see from a distance. If you go into the settings, then gameplay tab there should be an option to make the teleporter particles larger the farther away you are and that greatly helps visibility. Second tip, there are a set number of maps that it will draw from randomly. For first stage you have 4 in the base game and 1 new one in each dlc. On some maps there are also some small variations where most of the map is the same but a door is closed instead of open. With enough gameplay you will get to know them but know that maps are random in their stage level so a 1st stage map will never be a possibility when you go to second stage (there are some niche times where that will happen but its not the rule) Third work on your enemy priority, its a small change but it really helps. If there is a wisp kill it first, they are small but they build up fast and they have ended about half of my runs before I properly prioritized them. Last tip I will give here that helps when you are learning, always try to get a healing item before hitting tp. Once you get more experienced and get into eclipse then some of the general rules change but while you are learning healing is your friend. Bonus tip in your first run you died because the giant jellyfish explodes at 20% health, when that happens try to hide behind cover and it will negate the damage
@@dpatriot4130 Oh yeah it’s great. It’ll be hard, but it’s trial and error. Tip for finding the teleported, look for little red dots moving inwards, or some extra 8-bit music. Both mean you’re close.
Also try Huntress character, she 10 times better for new players. Bosses kill you because you battle them too late, try start battle on 3 minutes. Hope it helps.
@@dpatriot4130 Definitely don't start fighting bosses on the third minute. Don't let the game fool you - the difficulty scales with time, but even on the hardest difficulty you can easily spend 10+ minutes on the stage without fighting the boss. Make sure to learn the maps and loot ALL the chests you can possibly find. On most maps you should be able to grab at least 6 items. The Stage 1 maps you played (Titanic Plains and Distant Roost) you could get unlucky and get a bit less (but more drones and stuff, possibly), but on the maps going forward you should be looting at the very least 8 items, 10 even. Bossfights: The bosses are usually the least of your problems. Make sure to clear all or most of the enemies first, especially the Wisps and everything else that shoots at you. Keep playing the game on Drizzle difficulty until you're very comfortable with the game. The jump from Drizzle to higher difficulties will not be that huge later, the game is all about efficiency, getting proper items and learning how to deal with the enemies. If you have the time, please consider watching a video or two from the youtuber "Race". Masterful gameplay, no bloat, great commentary. Taking it slow. He's winning 95% of the runs he does on the highest difficulty.
I have a few hundred hours in this game. To answer your some questions: there are a few different stage options ~3 , and further about 1-3 variants of stages with some areas acessable or not, I think without DLC for stages 1-4 stage 5 is always the same. Then there is a final stage with main boss which is one way to "win". Everytime a stage is entered the variant can be different and chests / teleporter spwan in random locations. There are also hidden areas specially acessable try looking for a little blue altar to find the first. It was neat to see someone play this for first time hope you enjoy it :)
@@Disco_Biscuit_ great first impression. Definitely a game I will dive back into. Side note: a coworker of mine goes to every disco biscuit concert he can. Like tons every year.
@@dpatriot4130 cool it's a game iv returned to for the past 3 years fantastic little indie game. I had no idea there was a band called disco biscuit, round my way it's a slang term for ecstasy 🤫
Time is against the player of this game but the key is patience. The log book on the main screen can show you what items you had previously picked up do on every run. Collect and learn, with enough time and patience you may win.
Items make you stronger, time makes enemies stronger. Don't worry about the timer, just full loot the stages as efficiently as you can. 10/10 game - 11/10 once you master macro gameplay/itemization
Man this is a great game. I have over 80 hours its just a joy to hop into. The sound track keeps me coming back amost every day. Some runs can last over and hour and some runs can have you screwing up and dead in less than 10-15 minutes. If you have any questions about tips or tricks ask the comments:)

The game are very good, try to learn how items works and unlock new characters. Then eventually you will master it. Have fun.
Also, time is everything, make looting process efficient by learning maps and mechanics. Because difficulty scales with timer.
Also try Huntress character, she 10 times better for new players. Bosses kill you because you battle them too late, try start battle on 3 minutes. Hope it helps.
