Yeah so what happened is the daemon sorcerer used their fears against them in their minds ultimately killing them, when they get to Titus though, as we've been repeatedly been told throughout the episode "Hes a child who has never known fear." and that just proves it, there is -nothing- the sorcerer could use against him, and in the moment he became fear incarnate for the daemon sorcerer.

syama pederson worked on this, he is the guy who made Astartes, which has very little dialogue and great environmental storytelling this has a lot of his feel to it, the way the astartes fight and move and lack of dialogue in favour of showing whats going on are similar to his previous work

In any other person, Leonid would have said Eshara's words were arrogant, but he had seen him fight in the battery and knew that the Space Marine captain spoke the truth. 'I know I can defeat any foe,' continued Eshara, 'but your soldiers have no such knowledge, yet still they stand, knowing the enemy is superior to them. They are true heroes and will not fail you.' 'I know that,' said Leonid.

The Commissar Cain stories, which there are currently 11 full novels and a 12th book of short stories, is a must. The stories are told in the form of Cain recounting his heroic adventures and how he never wanted to be a part of any of them, but a lie made him into a hero and now he is stuck. Amazing characters, entertaining stories and all of them are available on Audible so you can listen to then M as you go about your day, if you aren’t much of a reader. I listen to them as I go to and from work while I drive. Again, would recommend, and while the Anthology was shown, the novel Ciaphas Cain: For The Emperor, the first full novel, is a better start point. The first short story in the Anthology was the birth of Cain, but it was so well received, they wanted a novel and now we have 11 and counting.

They needed the psyker to even the playing field (the psyker was making the "force field") when the sorcerer initilay stoped time it only stoped outside the "force field" (the bolt shels stoping) but the marines (inside) could move. Thats why the psyker was the first target.

You said that you'd picked up the novel Horus Rising. It's only my opinion, but the audio novels are much better, more expensive in the long run, but the inflections from the narrator make it more enjoyable, and some of them have sound effects, Audible through Amazon is way cheaper than Black Library.

The Ultrasmurfs are considered the most vanilla of the loyalist chapters. Wait till you see the sons of Russ or The Khans riders. The Black Templars or Dark Angels. It would be even more brutal.

Horus Rising is a great entry point into the universe. I would also recommend the next 2 books after that one for a complete story arc. I think that regardless of where you interest in 40k is, understanding the Horus Heresy and its causes and repercussions is absolutely necessary to appreciate the universe as a whole.

Just know, this is the mission or say Titus story after SM2, Leandros set him up for this just to see if he will turn. And if not, die. But Titus by his mentors observation knew that Titus knew no fear from a child. So you gotta imagine how Leandros will feel when the mission he sent him on is certain death. Leandros, been hating since day 1. If you want his back story with Titus, play space marine 1

hey just letting you know the heresy is a massive series and most people dont read every single book but choose the good ones or which ones they think sound cool. like there are over 60 books from horus rising to the siege of terra. so dont feel afraid to skip if you dont like a book

The first marines appears to be afraid of being considered weak by other space marines who crush his head, the Old man’s fear is that Titus could possibly turn into an unstoppable warrior who could turn on him. Titus doesn’t have fear and charges the demon in his mind.

8:44 - Warp phuckery. Each increase in weirdness is a sign they're moving deeper into the domain of the warp rift/incursion. It's why they can't communicate back up, and why the ships in orbit can't aim to bombard. So they have to send in a squad to deal with the source of the phuckery.

5:00 - So Tzeentch is the Chaos God associated with magic, change, and so on. He is also associated with birds, so the eggs and the backwards-burning sigil paper was a sign you're moving into a domain of Tzeentch.

One piece of additional info, The custodes are not an all male faction like other space marine type groups. They include both men and women, which makes sense seeing as the Custodes are considered the peak form of humanity, thus it makes quite a bit of sense that they are not confined to only 50% of the population

The knife is the Ultramarine's Gladius. A personal weapon carried by all Ultramarines. The gladius was used by Roman soldiers.

I just love the way Titus looks back towards the sorcerer during his invasion of Titus mind and it's almost like you can hear a *record scratch* "it was at this moment he knew, he fucked up" xD Goddamn I hope Cavill's 40k show is even an inch as dope as this one is!

If you really want to get a lot of history on Titus from the Ultramarines, look for the space marine 1 and 2 game’s complete stories. Seeing he has his honors helm in secret level, it’s clear that this short takes place after the space marine 2 the game. I’ll leave it at… it appears they have big plans for Titus going forward.

Horus Rising (and Horus Heresy in general) is a great place to start!

It might be heresy but warhammer might be better than even legends star wars.
