Just had a variant on this for tea tonight, onions, butter, sausage meat, turnip, parsnip, carrot, spuds, veg/lamb/chicken stockpot thingies, pink salt, malabar pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and nettles, turned out excellent, wife and daughters have told me i can definately make that again,so it 'cannae be aw that ba' 🤤
huh, my ma always makes this, and she's Scots-Irish (like at least 50% of people in Appalachia lol) but never with mince or corned beef. we get the cheapest cuts and toss it all in the slow cooker.
The only question I have is why do you throw away the best part of the tattie? I never peel them, just wash very well, cut them up and chuck them in. I made stovies the other night and it was excellent with the peels left on.
@@susangerryknight2571 Maybe looks awful on chips but not mashed. Use newer potatoes and save the old ones for jacket potatoes! The skin is full of vitamins.

What the fuck. It *does* involve corned beef, and tf is beets doing involved!? My Granda has made it the same way since he came to canada in 1970, and I was taught by him. Also, add a good amount of HP to it and you'll be off to the races.
That was fun, thank you!

Mostly because of the poison on the potatoes and it's kind of like having sex with your clothes on
@@l-vbordercolliesbryanbaque6237 Have you nae heard of scrubbing the tatties first? And having sex with your clothes on is very time efficient.
It looks awful with the skin on and most potatoes used for this have very thick skin unlike new potatoes.
