Here in the Tennessee Mountains (the Appalachian Mountains are "sister" mountains to the mountain chain in Scotland, Wales and the UK) we call these Tater Cakes. They are delicious and a recipe passed down thru generations of Scots. Love ya.
Through the marvels of science, I've just discovered that I'm nearly 70% Scottish. I'm completely fascinated that my ancestors provided me with such a rich Scottish heritage. Thank you for sharing.
This is a bit like our Reibekuchen in Germany, though the tatties are not mashed but shreded and fried in a lot of oil. This way they get really crunchy. But I will try it your way!
Lol. Loved the content and banter. I had sweet potatoes that needed using up, so made your tatie scones with them. One batch plain and one with pieces of smoked back bacon. They were a hit for a full Scottish brekkie. Thank you. 😊
Better tae roll them oot thinner and cook them. Then ye can spread them wi butter an jam an roll them up tae eat cauld,or pit a puckle o grated cheese oan them an heat that ablow the grill til the cheese is meltit and getting a licht broon.Fair guid tae eat hot.
This is the first video I have watched by this person. Most entertaining and I like the recipe, too. I have subscribed, now. Looking forward to more!!! Keep them comin' -
And it was all going so well ... until that last comment. The broadcaster Nikki Campbell, a Scot himself, describes the Scottish as "A perfectly balanced race, with a chip on both shoulders".
I am Scottish born and raised Nd I have NEVER EVER heard any Scottish person. Talk like this man with some sort of weird cent...his accent is absolutely fake and his recipe for potato scones is not traditional in any way shape or form....sorry but that’s my opinion!

I will marry a Scottish man someday just because of this video... “tatties in the pan, tatties in Japan” - a wonderful Scottish being
This is becoming an important part of my Monday morning routine.
