One of my favorite repotting videos. Every time I get a new philodendron…I watch your video. lol It comforts me. You explain everything so clearly and calmly. ❤ it!!!
I recently repotted one of my crawlers. I have a Ecuagenera Sodiroi aff which turns out is a crawler not a climber. I used a low long clear acrylic floral vase and melted drainage holes in the bottom with my handy dandy wood burning tool. Mine has a lot of empty stem from losing the old leaves which takes up a lot of the horizontal space. So the plant is now reaching the end of this pot. I want to chop that off and repot the rest now that it has a good root system. I just need some courage!
@@EverythingPlants Oh I had not even thought of that. I have so many plants that I dont think I need anymore of this one! But maybe someone else wants the chonk. Good idea!
Can you do a video on how to tell what style of philodendron a particular one is? Climbing, crawling, self heading? I'm never sure which ones to put a pole on!
nice I've been thinking about combining my sp colombia (green) with my sp platinum but the rectangular pots i have are no where near the size i need lol ! thanks for sharing !
I'm glad you did not separate your fuzzy petiole, i did with mine and it did not go well. Im still trying to get it back and it was a few montha ago. Thank you for sharing
@@EverythingPlants i happened to it, lol. There were three plants together and I wanted to put it on a moss pole so I separated it because it was growing weird, not like yours. The next day they were all super droopy and I ended up losing all of the leaves. That was a few months ago. They are still alive and finally starting to grow back now . They seem to be very sensitive
Hi Jeff. I planted the same way mine 2 Decursiva plants in rectangular pot ( not as nice pot as yours lol) . They doing great but one of them it's on support to grow up. It gave me beautiful large leaves. Thank you for another great video ☺️
Hello Jeff. How all is well. Educate me on ceiling fan air ver’s. Floor fan, and the air causing dryness in the plants. Also what do you use for pests in your green room. Thanks enjoy u much. 😊
Are you sure the soil the fuzzy petiole is in is chunky enough to be on the moss pole? You have to make sure the pole stays moist and a lot of times the water gets into the substrate and if it's not chunky enough it could cause root rot. When I first started with moss poles that happened to me and I had to correct the issue but I did lose one plant. Good luck! The crawlers are gorgeous!
Those Philodendrons are so beautiful! ~ especially love the SP Silver with the dramatic deeply veined leaves and bright red stem. I'm learning so much from your videos, and will definitely be amending the growing medium for my fledgling Philodendron collection with the chunkier mix. Really impressed with the troughs you use ~ they look an ideal design for the crawling Philos. Looking forward to seeing how they progress!. Have just purchased a P. Silver Sword which I'm really pleased with, and am going to follow your method with a cedar plank to get it to attach & start shingling.
I saw a longer 1M/3ft rectangular plastic pot for $7.99 at Tractor Supply the other day that woulda been perfect for this! Idk if you have Tractor Supply in Canada but I'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about next time you're out and about lol Great episode Jeff one of my favorite shows 👏 👍 🙌 😂I don't really watch 📺
My monstera has yellowing leaves and they are turning brown. As it is winter here (Peru, humidity 80% temps 15C more or less) i had started watering it every two weeks, and that happened. I do not know if I should cut the leaves or the stem or what to do….any suggestions?
Love Melissa's aroid mix! It looks so nice! Just got an sp colombia silver! A starter baby but still excited......the 2 plants look great together! Your basement garden is looking lush and green....is the potting mix only sold in Canada? I will have to look it up! Great video thanks :) tina

And when you do, propagate those leafless nodes!

Love the aroid mixes. My plants love it!!! 🙋🏼♀️🪴🌿💚🌺🐩
What I noticed is that chopsticks work great as a tool for checking and doing stuff with the soil. Maybe give it a try instead of the pencil?
I do use chopsticks for checking soil moisture and etc....the pencil ✏️ is my trademark haha
Nice repotting video. Thanks Jeff!
Beautiful plants. They look great together 💚🪴

Love to see your videos and your plants. All of mine are growing so much now that it's summer and it is a happy time
Wonderful!

Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants lovely collection beautiful
Thanks Jillian
I’m not a fan of crawling plants because they seem like a pain to pot up. I think these plants are better for a backyard to pot in the ground.
another beautiful job

Hello Jeff, I love the way you put your crawling together in this rectangular pot. I'll borrow your idea 🌱🪴
Nice! Thanks for watching Nadine
How about another update and tour with all the plants upstairs. I miss your chore videos. :)
Chore video coming out tomorrow!

Hi. With aroid mix in, you keep reservoir full with water? There is no root rot?
No I don't keep any water in the reservoir. I was simply pointing that out as an option for this pot

Jeff, where do you get your rectangle pots?
Amazon! The links are in the description of this video. I have them on the Canada page, but I can't remember if they are in the USA
@everythingplants I didn't see them in the USA page.

I love all those plants, so beautiful. However, I just don’t like the growing pattern 😭 my little place can’t accommodate it sadly.
Good 💡 idea!
Can you show the plant names .😮
Philodendron SP silver and Mamei are the two in the rectangle pot
Is it possible my Begonia Maculata wants to crawl??
Moss poles always look better let's be honest.
Name of moss pole please
Thiccly moss poles
You must have been a math teacher in one of your past lives!
