I think I am going to have Barney build me one of his bikes around a KTM 500. Just talked to him on the phone. Jeffery, How do you like yours? How does it compare to your old snowbike or other snowbikes you have ridden? Is there anything disappointing about it? Like you say to yourself. "This is cool but I wish that..."
@@mitchrichardson744 My bike was built from a brand new 2018 YZ450F. It has the 129 track. Oddly enough I have ridden several of Barney’s bikes but have never ridden another brand of snowbike so I have no reference as to how it compares to other brands. I’ve mostly had street bikes in the past so I had to take a bit of time learn how to ride the snowbike, lean more-steer less is the key. Still learning what this thing can do in the trees, it is way more capable than I am as a rider. I live and ride in northwest Colorado and get a lot of powder days to ride. On those deep days I wish I has a 137.
After speaking with Barney, the owner and creator of this bike I am really thinking about getting one. Seems great on paper! But that doesn't always translate into real world results. With you having been able ride both the gnar bike and your Timbersled. Can you give us any real world comparisons?
I like how maneuverable the gnarbike is. it's the tightest turning and most nimble snowbike I have ridden. It can be a handful in steep gnarly terrain as it will loop over pretty easy. Especially his short track version. I would like his setup to be narrower as well. Timbersled feels familiar and I like being able to convert in the summer back to tires. If I had excess money I would certainly consider having one of his bikes. With some clean finish work and other refinements it could be a really sweet setup for sure. Opening doors that traditional snow bikes dream of.
Damn that looks like fun! Great video 👍✌️
Gnar Bike is a blast to ride, I own one. Great video.

Wow. I would love to hear more about pros/cons of this bike. How does it compare to the KTM for example? Strengths? Weaknesses? Any downside?
Sick! Definitely want to try one of these bikes!

Why does this one look so ridiculous compared to other track conversion kits?
It’s not a conversion. Custom built with a doner dirt bike
Ahhh yes, now I see, I've heard these are way more responsive and actually easier control and a little bit more fun.
