    Jaime just visited our gym in Ireland and I was so thrilled to get the chance to roll with him. In the first 15 seconds I was seated and he jumped my guard in to a flying triangle...the guy is a beast 😂

    I’ve trained with Jaime Canuto… and he is as tough as they come and an overall great guy. Watching GR till here is just amazing. Glad Jaime is getting this training.

    It always seems extremely quiet at New Wave. These guys are putting in work at the office. Pro level stuff.

      @@FrankDracula_ I would have been if I started at 10. I am 27 and training only 3 years and have a job. But music I never listen in gym or anytime I work on something. Imagine explaining to Miyamoto Musashi or Rocky Marciano that you need some stupid beat to roll / fight well.

    2:37 - Here comes the pain. Canuto is so good and slowly GR justs melts his guard. GR transformed from only a guard player to an absolute unit pressure passer.

    I know they are just playing, but how Jamie escaped the mount is so cool, sure it's not a competition, and they are going light, but it's great to see a technique drilled so often in a real spa, against the man

    I've felt that camping pressure from Gordon when I visited there 😅 It's shocking how hard it is to move and recover frames when you're stuck under half guard.

    That reverse x guard sweep Gordon hit was nice . Jaime was in the same position where he was pulling Gordon’s leg over his head but the difference was instead of Gordon chasing the far leg and getting smashed like Jaime did he come up for the sweep. Gordon grabbed for the far leg but knew not to chase it which would put him out of position so he took what was available, a nice reverse x sweep

    • @joshuaroun14
      @joshuaroun14 Рік тому +1

      That’s what cross face pressure does to you. You have no ability to invert or continue into your false reap with cross face pressure like that. He’s controlling the longest lever of the spine. If you apply proper cross face pressure you can shut down almost any leg entry.
