I just love how he gets to the same submission from every angle. It’s clear that’s his goal for this roll.
i was thinking the same
correction... Actually.... it was a yoko sinkanku at 8:31 so technically that a different triangle than the first he won he taps him with
@@L3gitK4rma lol sorry bro I’m only a new bluebelt idk what I’m looking at fr
@@prettypawesomepryde71😂😂😂😂😂😂👌🏽
You’re not far off: he clearly wanted to go through almost every triangle of the Danaher repertoire ^^ Yoko sankaku, hantai sankaku, ushiro sankaku, and ankle/achilles triangle
32 years old. I start my first class on Monday. Excited and nervous.
Start streching after class !!!
How is it going bro?
Update?
Still going strong! Loving it. Hard to remember all the steps for all the different moves and counters to the counters that counter the counter lol
@@thesecondandre you good still bro?
Triangle after triangle. So impressive.
Crazy how good gordan is. Makes it look easy.
Huge weight difference that's why.
@Ned-ICXC-Shuput he made his last match look pretty easy, not any size difference

Man I absolutely love watching competent rolling. So satisfying! I'd not heard of Asare; he was a great training partner.
Asare is no joke. Crazy roll
Damn, that kid did way better than I expected, good for him. My favorite part of how Gordon rolls is that he never tries to do anything super fast or forceful like many others. His movements are purposeful, controlled, constant pressure, cutting off angles of escape.....I tell kids I roll with , watch Gordon, does he go super nuts or spastic? No, he doesn't even have to move fast. At 45, I've tried to emulate this style and it has served me well against the young spazoids.
Today's grappling is very much about speed and athleticism. Gordon looks not to depend on this. He's obviously strong, but he doesnt rely on it
A lot like Roger.
Definitely seems like someone that would never hurt anyone in training. He doesn’t even hurt people in competition. Total control over everything
I love that Gordon never appears to crank on submissions. They are either done properly or he moves on until the setup is correct. And he seems to give people enough time to tap.
Well that's not always true. You can see that for sweep and takedown he does increase its speed of execution. There is a need for this element of surprise to taking your opponent off balance. I think you have to find the perfect combo between three two and not mistaking speed with hurry.
Davis's game is lovely to watch. He's only getting better too
Didn't see it
@@eclipsez0r watch closer
@@eclipsez0rWeren't paying attention huh?
@@GreyEagle_35Yeah he taps beautifully
you know we're kinda blessed to watch this right now, they respect the fans to let us watch private training session
Gotta say Gordon looks like the best training partner.
In terms of professionalism yes, but he does look pretty fucking sombre to the point where you have no clue if he’s actually enjoying the roll; it’s quite intimidating. That room always looks silent as fuck as if everyone was scared of exchanging any kind fucking word of any sort for fear of being seen as weak lol. Maybe it’s just when the Flo cameras are on, but c’mon crack a fucking smile every now and then.
@@JohnDoe-ce6ebthat’s what I’m saying when a sparring partner acts like that to me I think they’re pissed off at me for something it gets annoying not gonna lie
I am many times like this too. It is just that you are so focused on the training that you don't feel like doing normal socialising. + You don't come to the gym to socialis, but to train.@@JohnDoe-ce6eb
as a new jiu-jitsu practitioner, this is so cool to watch
I love how he just has the slow but constant grinding pressure. Just goes from one technique to another seamlessly

@@MNaeem5 right?! 🤣😭
OMG, I'm learning so much just watching this segment of sparring. Wow!!!
After watching this, I don't feel so bad that I get tapped out 3 times in one roll...I guess there are levels to this, lol. I'm still new, only been doing Jiu-jitsu for a little over a year and a blue belt. This gives me hope.
Davis is a purple belt but keeping up with Gordon Ryan is crazy.
Not really keeping up. Sure he’s good but as you can see Gordon can hit triangles over and over on him
He IS good, but they're rolling at what looks like about 50%, at least Gordo is anyway lol
@@martinwilcox8166 The identification of his skill level (purple belt) contextualizes "keeping up."
I think Gordon is just enjoying watching Davis do his thing, then all of a sudden, the little voice in his head goes "Okay, time to tap..." and boom, Davis is tapping.
Gordon chose to work only one small set of submissions and still subbed him 5 times while going easy. He'd tap him every minute if he tried
Absolutely brilliant lesson and movement. ❤
I think Davis is also the only person to put Gordon to sleep. Kid is a savage.
Did this actually happen?
its training bro
@humanresources2138 Gordon admitted it yes, but he's training working on his weaknesses
@@MatthewMuellerrtraining or not, it's the first time it's happened
@@Iknowurconfusedstill a big deal, imagine even knocking out mike Tyson in a sparring session and he’s an old retired boxer, it would still be impressive lol
Davis is a beast!
This kid rolling with Gordon is amazing, but in the end, Ryan was just falling in positions. Davis had great composure and accepted the lesson.
Good rolls there!!!! They're both ready for WNO
Incredible sweep he did in the 50 second mark how smooth he was
Yoko Sumi Gaeshi, he teaches it in his instructionals
@@khabib8196 I thought it was that move but wasn't sure

Love these videos! I just keep a notebook on standby.
Davis Asare, remember the name👑🦍
Beautiful jui Jitsu to watch
13:59 *The moment he thought* "By gar, I'm about to submit Gordon Ryan!"
Well Gordon posted a while ago he (Davis) was the first one to put Gordon to sleep in training .
Man that old dude is pretty legit at jiu jitsu
Gordon lookin like he’d be the third brother from War of the Gargantuas
Davis’s loose passing (torreando’s, high-stepping, hip/knee post) is so friqqin cleaaannn, but Gordon’s knee-elbow connection and high legging is just too solid, and just defends so easily. 3:56
Gordon Ryan is going to call a triangle on Barbosa and release his instructional on it the same night.
Right. He did mention releasing one on triangles in the armbar instructional too
It’s so impressive how he got rid of that revers De La Riva. Then he started smashing. My goodness!
When John Danaher says he needs to clean the mat.. we respectfully wait.
Crazy when some of your best rolls come from training and not against your actual competition.
This kid is good
Check John Danaher pretending he's wiping sweat when he is actually applying his chi onto the mat. 💥
13:08 similar sequence to passing half guard he taught Brian Shaw 👍
So this is what Santa Claus does on his off time
My God. Looks at Davis’s arm/triceps at 2 min on the post hand 😳 what even isnthat
Esto es una terapia
🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺 all day
So this is what Santa does in his off time
Yeah. And can you believe that Santa is only 28 years old?
A wizard. And not just the beard.
Yeah yeah triangle instruction coming next
Think it’s safe to say he wants to win this next WNO with a triangle lmao
Yeah I’m like watching this and thinking this is not on another level it’s another dimension. Hats off to you Sir!
Relentless pressure from Gordon, this is how he renders athleticism useless
This was sooooo goood
Gordon is a dork but he does this to anyone. 150 or 250 lbs doesnt matter. You cant deny this
You're a dork
beauty
Cardio absurdo.... impressionante
13:26 Gordon farted on Davis’s face hahahaha with the yoko/kimura
What brand of shorts and rash is that? That color is sick. I'd like to get it.
smooth.. Oss
Oh ok thats why that lil girl so good she rolls with grown men too 😂
Make it look easy, and davis aint no joke just gordon on another level
Getting ready to drop a triangle instructional? 😂
My three year old watching this video: “that’s Santa Claus!!”
Since when is Santa a young jacked blonde guy??
John danaher is so thecnical cleaning the floor
The sequence with David from 1:41-2:45 shows his genius..
He is better/smarter with better/smarter opponents...
He performs worst with opponents who do dumb shit..
His Guard passing needs more systemization,
❤
Awesome
Santa's got moves
Ah peaches its Gordon "Old Prospector" Ryan
Gordon does "Bred and butter" a very basic grappling style because it works.
The King of the grappling is a true king
is that mejia sitting in the back?
Dominating the kids class.
Yea hes never even won anything real am i right?
Rest of the competition are essentially kids to him so makes sense
Pressure training from the pressure cooker himself
O mais assustador é ver o moleque dando 110% enquanto gordon da nem 10%🤯
A diferença de peso é absurda, pra um é treino de força, pro gordon é só refinar técnica
3:38 😮
3:40 I have never seen that move before and I have literally no clue what happened. Was he choking him with his own arm or was he pulling on something?
its just a set up for the gift wrap
It's the 'seated head and arm' position into a triangle. It's on GRs attacking mount instructional. I'd highly recommend it.
Gordon look like Santa clauss
So you’re saying you want to sit on his lap?
🔥🔥🔥
That grandpa is good tho!
Most impressed by the conditioning I find the conditioning to be the absolute hardest part of Jiu Jitsu for myself
Exactly how do they not gass the fuck out after like 5 mins of this. It's completely insane.

Quiet rooms are the best.
Muy bueno
This is how Rickson used to train. He'd pick a move and get it over and over.
You can tell what the next instructional si going to be … 🔺
Im seeing a common « triangle » theme here. Maybe foreshadowing to the match and Gordon’s new instructional
How old is the other guy? He is crazy good
Like 22 I think.
Gordon ramsay my fav grappler. Let him cook.
Let me guess the specifics of the day……😂
It's really like watching him drown someone on land
In a street fight this will get you kneed in the balls real quick

How old is the guy in gray?
27 lol
Only Guy who can possibly beat hum is Rafael Mendes
GR lookin thin, off cycle?
Do you think John got sick iof counting the amount of sweat droplets n the mat and then Tom cruise calling him crazy, but then realising he had a gift, then started to use him to count card at casinos… that he just started wiping them up??….
John Danager is rainman
Who’s is the next Gordon?
