      So glad to help! :D Yah, essentially you are trying to put effects in after the edit. Most of the times the VFX isn't story important. So editing the scenes together can give a better idea of how you are going to do the VFX!

    I've been using premiere pro for like around 3 years and after effects for around a year and a half. I've gotten fairly good at using after effects for things like 3D camera work and I want to do certain effects that I just cant in premiere pro, but I also want to be able to cut things more precisely. Thanks to this I'm able to get best of both worlds, gotta test it out for sure.

      Yes! It is important to learn the other tools in the Adobe suite. I used to edit videos in After Effects, as that's where I started. I have even heard of people trying to make edits in Photoshop. It cannnn work, but it wastes a lot of time!

    Thank you! I've begun to learn AE and have been using Resolve for color and editing, no VFX for a while now. This kind of proves the point that either I need to learn fusion, or switch to Premiere to make animation easier. The Resolve and AE 'solution' is kludgy and works but...

    Many thanks for this easy and clear tutorial. I have a question: What if you took a certain clip in your sequence, did the "replace with after effect comp", added all the animation in after effects, then, you realise that you need to modify this clip in the sequence (you need it shorter or longer or you need to cut 2 sec in the middle. How you redo/handle the After effects composition an animation. Many thanks

  • @igmantis
    @igmantis 2 роки тому

    Right click a complete section of the footage with the selected clip(s) covering all the time the edit should take place, then select "replace with after effect composition" from the pop up menu. That's most likely the instruction you are looking for.

      @AdobeMastersOfficial  3 роки тому +1

      Hey there, yah, it can definitely run a bit slower. However, typically just having them open won't be too bad. If you are doing something intensive and try to switch to the other, yah everything will be slower! You can also close out Premiere while doing the after effects stuff and vice versa. Once they are linked, they don't have to both be open!
