Easiest tutorial I’ve seen on this subject. You got straight to the point and demonstrated a simple technique that can be greatly expanded on. Thank you!
Great video to help break the ice with after effects and get a feel for the basics. Appreciate the video not being rushed and also not dragging on for 10+ mins with excessive rambling. Thanks for the help!
Exactly what i needed to know, this would be thre 6th or 7th video ive watched on using these two programs together and this was the first one to make sense Thanks heaps!
So glad to help! :D Yah, essentially you are trying to put effects in after the edit. Most of the times the VFX isn't story important. So editing the scenes together can give a better idea of how you are going to do the VFX!
This is super helpful! I am learning premiere and after effects on the fly, and this direction has some wonderful tips that i can forsee helping me save time and stay organized. Thanks for the super video!
I've been using premiere pro for like around 3 years and after effects for around a year and a half. I've gotten fairly good at using after effects for things like 3D camera work and I want to do certain effects that I just cant in premiere pro, but I also want to be able to cut things more precisely. Thanks to this I'm able to get best of both worlds, gotta test it out for sure.
Yes! It is important to learn the other tools in the Adobe suite. I used to edit videos in After Effects, as that's where I started. I have even heard of people trying to make edits in Photoshop. It cannnn work, but it wastes a lot of time!
Thank you! I've begun to learn AE and have been using Resolve for color and editing, no VFX for a while now. This kind of proves the point that either I need to learn fusion, or switch to Premiere to make animation easier. The Resolve and AE 'solution' is kludgy and works but...
Many thanks for this easy and clear tutorial. I have a question: What if you took a certain clip in your sequence, did the "replace with after effect comp", added all the animation in after effects, then, you realise that you need to modify this clip in the sequence (you need it shorter or longer or you need to cut 2 sec in the middle. How you redo/handle the After effects composition an animation. Many thanks
Right click a complete section of the footage with the selected clip(s) covering all the time the edit should take place, then select "replace with after effect composition" from the pop up menu. That's most likely the instruction you are looking for.
THANK YOU! I am new to AE but have been using PP for a while now. I could not for the life of me figure out the two were linked together?! I was completely wrong! I was thinking I had to export the AE file as a mogrt file an import it somehow. This saved me so much time and was easy to understand. THANK YOU AGAIN!!
This literally makes life 20x easier, like holy shit. I would always struggle w huge files in After Effects and having to cut and trim like 20 clips and pre composing when I can just put it together in premier and add stuff after
Wow thanks for this awesome video. I have now understood how I can make multiple kill counting numbers by linking after effects, saving me months of title edits for incrementing kill count numbers. Awesome!
hi! I created some effects and then I changed it and the sequences didn't refresh. Any suggestions what went wrong? Pls help! Thanks for the video anyway! Easy introduction to the subject. Made my day :>
Thanks a lot. This is what I have been looking. It's difficult to look for hours of footages and edit this in After Effects. So, I will be using Premiere pro for editing and AE for effects and animation.
Thanks for the thorough explanation! I wasn;t sure if I needed to start editing videos in After Effects if I want to use the capabilities but now I know I don't! Sweeeeeet
what if we closed after effects software...will it render in premier pro in the same way??...BTW this is alot helpful 😃Plz answer my question...! i wanna know
I don’t have after effect or premier pro. I use my phone to edit. I just wanted to know how you could combine luma fusion with alight motion. This really helped, thanks
dude awesome HOW TO! Question, if I create a sequence in Premiere, then a comp in AE for that sequence, and way later on I decided not to use that comp and delete it, how do I only delete the AE comp without losing the original sequence? Every time I delete the AE comp, I also lose the original footage. How do I keep the orig footage?
Hey there, yah, it can definitely run a bit slower. However, typically just having them open won't be too bad. If you are doing something intensive and try to switch to the other, yah everything will be slower! You can also close out Premiere while doing the after effects stuff and vice versa. Once they are linked, they don't have to both be open!
Nice video and very informative. I recently purchased Adobe Premiere Pro and subscripted to envato and downloaded a curtain opening sequence done in aftereffects that I want to use for my videos. Please bear with me on this as I am new to this. There is a part of this opening sequence in that the moment the curtain is opened I want to display my graphic, now the question I have is how do I do this?
Great video. Quick question. If I close Premiere and then go back in to make changes later, the dynamic link is broken and the file is lost between the 2 apps. What's the best workflow to over come this?
Thanks man, I got the good habit of wanting to learn everytNice tutorialng before I start sotNice tutorialng (wNice tutorialch is impossible) tNice tutorials quick guide is what I

Everyone has an Ae or Pr tutorial, but no one mentions where you begin and what order you do things in. This information was really helpful.

Thanks a lot. This is what I have been looking. It's difficult to look for hours of footages and edit this in After Effects. So, I will be using Premiere pro for editing and AE for effects and animation.

what if we closed after effects software...will it render in premier pro in the same way??...BTW this is alot helpful 😃Plz answer my question...! i wanna know
Yes, as After Effects saved it, Premiere is just able to grab that project file and After Effects doesn't need to stay open for that.
This is a way better tutorial than the others.
congratulations fam!!!
Great, simple video. Many of the other tutorial videos use a ton of keyboard shortcuts and talk too fast. This was very easy to follow. Thanks!
Thank you! It sounds weird but this was what was pretty much stopping me trying AA.

I don’t have after effect or premier pro. I use my phone to edit. I just wanted to know how you could combine luma fusion with alight motion. This really helped, thanks
Thank you this is EXACTLY what I needed.
And that is EXACTLY why I love making these videos!! Glad it was helpful :D
This video was very very helpful. I was doing thing in AE and then pulling them into Premier. But this is much simpler.
Should After effect be open while I exporting the video in Premier or I can just close After Effects after saving the composition?
dude awesome HOW TO! Question, if I create a sequence in Premiere, then a comp in AE for that sequence, and way later on I decided not to use that comp and delete it, how do I only delete the AE comp without losing the original sequence? Every time I delete the AE comp, I also lose the original footage. How do I keep the orig footage?

Thank you! 🍹I am just wondering about if I have two software on the same time, is that going to make everything run slower?
Hey there, yah, it can definitely run a bit slower. However, typically just having them open won't be too bad. If you are doing something intensive and try to switch to the other, yah everything will be slower! You can also close out Premiere while doing the after effects stuff and vice versa. @AdobeMasters The last tip is so helpful to know! Thank you so much!🙏😊
Nice video and very informative.
Hmm, so depends on the template. Usually there is a placeholder that you can replace to include your graphic!
Hey man great video but how can I grade the originals after I have added the effects
Great video. Quick question. If I close Premiere and then go back in to make changes later, the dynamic link is broken and the file is lost between the 2 apps. What's the best workflow to over come this?
