Yes but his comparison makes sense in that after effects works more like a photoshop of videos allowing you to composite many layers together on top of each other and generate effects and filters whereas premiere pro lets you edit together sequences better horizontally and though it also has many effects and layer options, it doesn’t quite have the power of effects that ae has
Justin i just wanna say this clearly, you're definitely most favourite tutor! I learn a lot things from you, SO THANK YOU SO MUCH for what you've done my friend! :)
Thanks for a modern (professional) simple explanation! Little bit enthusiastic, good choice of words and nice edits :) These type of video’s are really apreciated just because they are informative and working with Adobe is not simply done.
Your tutorials are so pleasant to watch. I'm finally trying out After Effects and I'm definitely going to watch more of your stuff to understand how to work the programs :D
Justin, its like you are reading my mind for the type of tutorials I want from you. Keep it up! Also: I would really like a tutorial on workflow from start to finish on a regular edit. Like when in the edit do you add effects, when do you adjust audio, when do you color correct and so on. Im curious on which order a more experienced editor does what. Cheers and ill be looking out for the next tutorial soon
From what I understand, PP is more streamlined for tying video clips and audio together. It's probably meant for really large projects that have a lot of different shots.
I know this is old but for anyone reading with the same question, editing multiple clips and sequences together - horizontally, with simple transitions, cuts etc is really tedious and not what after effects is made for. If you just try it vs doing in premiere you’ll see
I'm new to editing and everyday I go search for anything new to learn.. and I think you're videos are the best.. they're abbreviated, clear, easy to follow with, and the fact you have tons and tons of different things to learn..... I love it all.. keep it up bro~~ 👍👍
You are the reason we can call ourselves creators if it wasnt for your turotials and the way you explain things the road to editing would have been so tough thank you so much with bottom of my heart .
I use AE mostly and hardly every use premier pro. But it depends on what you work on - if you need more colour correction and sound editing control, premier is useful - for everything else, i use AE (i basically use his workflow backwards - everything in AE, then make edits to video files separately in premier)
oh gosh you'll help me make amazing video essays aren't you? I just found your channel, and now I'll devote all my time in learning editing. Thank you for teaching.
Editing in AE can be tedious. If you’re working on a video that’s like 20 Min long I recommend constructing it in PP, and then finalising in AE. But if you’re doing small 5 min client videos that are repetitive, stick with AE if it’s too much hassle to work between the two.
i did a 3 minutes long TV promo in AE (with green screen keying, effects) and its already tedious. i tried to do the same short video by using both premiere and AE, and it is easy once we get to know the correct workflow
Thanks Justin. Trust Premiere is better in below scenario. 1. If I have a webinar in MP4 format that I need to edit and trim. 2. Editing the names of attendees appearing in the webinar, and trimming the breaks that appear in webinar. 3. If i need to buy, which one is economical and value for money - Adobe Premiere or Adobe Aftereffects.
Hello, I have something to say. If you want to make youtube videos or movies I'd recommend you get both instead of deciding on which one to use. They are two different programs used to work side by side with each other. It doesn't cost that much money to get both for a month and I have a motto where if you are getting three or more apps from the adobe cc you might as well get all of them because you'd be wasting money getting three instead of getting all of the apps fro the price of two and a half of them.
Helpful and useful information, as usual, Justin. I'm new to AE, so it's still somewhat of a blur to me as to AE's capabilities and differences from PR but your video certainly helps.
You, my friend, are simply amazing. I am sure you've heard this several times before. You can just add my compliment to your list. See you at the top bro.
i prefer using after effects only, because it can easily put clips together sequentially and add effects at the same time, but the downside is that the editing in AE is a bit uncomfortable (atleast for me, i'm using it only since 2 days ago)

After Effects: Video Photoshop
Isn't Photoshop for editing photos though?

one is a dedicated editing program and the other is a dedicated motion graphics program. That's what every Adobe trainer told me.
Which one is use for motion graphics?
which one is used for youtube editing?
@@onlyf676 for youtube editing you can use either program

Use after effects when working on shots, use premiere to tie in those shots into scenes.
Thanks for the advice. I was not sure if it was worth having both.
So you suggest after effects first?

Why use both if After Effects is capable of more? Isn't it faster to just use After Effects only?
Do you use both now?
