Amazing! Just this week I thought I dont think I can do barbell back squats anymore because of a lower back injury ... so today Day 1 of Zerchers! Thanks, Eugene and love the format. It's so calm and energizing at the same time! Keep up the awesome work!
I'm a vegetarian, so clicking on the video I thought "whatever I'll just check out the leg day" but I was wrong! I'll have to try the recipe as well as switching for a meso or 2 to zerchers, just for the fun of it. Great video as always eugene!
Same thoughts here. I'm not vegan but I try to get plentyof plant based protein for health benefits. Lots of souos with lentils, peas, beans, and I've been throwing tofu into stir fries lately as an alternative to home canned fish. It's good stuff, cheap too.@@timovalentin1
man not only do i enjoy your content, i also just enjoy you, if you made a 3hr video of you making a grilled cheese sandwitch and talking about training i´d watch it. sorry for bad english lol
Loving this format. I personally prefer the long-form style you have adopted in the recent videos. You are relaxed, calm, and content with the format too, so long may it continue. You are a role model to many.
For those interested. If you put the tofu on a plate with a couple paper towel sheets below and above, with another plate above, you can create a press to squeeze out more liquid. Don’t squeeze too hard though. 👨🏽🍳
The physique journey is one thing, but the hair journey is another, and IMO this is the best Eugene haircut yet.... very evocative of 1980s movie stars
You made a great point on Zercher. When my father got his body paralyzed sitting on a floor, I had to lift him to the bed. That was exactly the same movement pattern. Love the feeling of my pelvis is nice and stable while performing. So meaningful for me to work & get stronger on that. Thanks for introducing that drill, coach 🙏 I will try the recipe 😄 love the vibe of the video🙌
Started with Zercher a few weeks ago because I saw it on your Instagram. Every legday I start with them. Starting with 100kg just holding it and then starting my working sets with 75kg, 3x5. Sometimes adding a few sets more if I feel like it :D. I love it, full body activation!
Such a wholesome video! I was doing Zerchers today after several years and my last set was 100kg for 2 reps, followed by sequence of exercises after; and after I came home I started feeling sick and I’ve got a 38.7C fever with 110/60 blood pressure and my heart rate kept staying just around 100bpm for several hours. I feel like it’s over training / dehydration caused by new found stimulus. I hope I feel better tomorrow!
Teo, thanks to your short that came up on my feed I just realised I've been doing the zercher squat for the last 6 months while carrying my beloved old and sick dog down and up the 3rd floor. Today I incorporated the zercher squat in my gym routine with the hopes it'll make me stronger in that position for my dog and for myself as well. Great vid as always!
I lived with a Chinese family for a while and to make sure we got the water out we would wrap the block in paper towels and weigh it down with a plate. And repeat this another time or two while we prepped the other ingredients. Never thought about the freezing method. Interesting!
Your last vlog just came into my feed and your content has really amazed me brother 💯 . So calming - no bs - it just hits different. Loved it and yeah I am your new subscriber 💯🫶🏻. Your content is 💜. Thanks Eugene ☝🏻🫶🏻💯
Love this new format Eugene - also interesting to see your leg extension set-up follows the latest research (hips extended). I'd really like to do leg extensions but my right knee cap refuses to cooperate 😁.
Tofu in soya sauce and nutritional yeast ( instead of corn starch). added nutrients aswell B12, Iron, Folate it high protein aswell. etc. is divine super crispy and tasted insane!!! vegan 15 years tried this it is the bomb
I tried Zercher for the first time yesterday. Movement felt very natural. Back felt great. It is, as you said, much more similar a movement with what I do daily at work. Hyped to do it more and see where it leads.
I started doing zercher squats last week after seeing your video, and also because it is Grizzly approved. And they are AWESOME. I did working sets with just 80 kg and was trembling like crazy while doing it. Love your content btw man.
Many people classified this exercise as "stupid" As you said ,they say why not just do a regular bb squat or a machine squat. If they only knew how amazing it feels and the benefits it has. Greetings From Texas Mr. Teo.
One of my favourite exercises, my go to for my athletes, to develop full body strength, especially with lots of shoulder injuries. Also a vegetarian, so loving the food
If you can find it, lots of stores sell a vacuum sealed extra firm tofu with no liquid. Ive used it alongside chop beef in stews and even thinly sliced in place of deli meat. Should work like a charm.
I've been enjoying front squats so much recently Back squats are great but the load on the spine is something to take into account, and variants with less load on the spine feel so much better on recovery for the low back
I just wanna know where you’re getting these pants! I’m digging the new “functional” look you got going 😂 you’re like a Asian Tom Haviland that shows his face 😅
the fact that this popped out in my feed makes me feel ready to conquer the world lmao ( I feel very inspired to start) is it possible to work out everyday? doing different body parts
I love Zercher squats. Such a good back movement. My biggest problem with them is that I've had a hard time not hitting my arms on my legs and limiting depth.
So true!!! Once the compounds are done, I'm like, "whew" now its all the easy stuff from here on out! (sort of). Thanks again, this is really enjoyable stuff. It's nice to get a feel for someone's personality slightly outside of the gym just to be sure they're not an *sshole, and clearly you are not. Keep it comin'!
Have you thought about extending your knees forward a bit more off the pad during the leg extension to allow for more knee flexion and a deeper stretch on the quads? Hard to tell exactly from the angle shown, but it seems like you were getting only to about 90° of knee flexion and wouldn't it be better to get more ROM through the knees?
Great video as always, a joy to watch. Looking at incorporating zercher squats into my routine due to shoulder and wrist injuries (thanks BJJ). I was surprised to see you exhaling in the bottom position of your z squat - are you still able to cue good stability? I find trunk stability feels really tied to my breathing so interested to hear your thoughts. Apols if you have already covered.
Hi, Eugene! :) Regarding to traditional barbell back squat, I am curious about your recommendations about the best way possible to warm up (with sets and reps) for big powerful squats. Thank you for helping me in this regard! :)
Would the wide grip on the stiff deadlifts be a better option for a shorter person too? I am only 5'6" so just wondering if would help the movement of the bar with the stiff leg deadlifts or would it be just down to someones body make up as to what feels better? Want to try work in some zercher squats into my program, like the carry over to more everyday lifting position then a back squat.
I like Zercher Squats, but have been having difficulty getting my hips as low as you do. I'm 6' 3" so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway it's a goal for me to work toward. Thank you!
What would be a benefit of the zercher squat compared to a backsquat or even front squat? They seem very interesting yet as an asmwrestler/ grippsports athlete I am afraid to hurt my elbows/ forearms. Any feedback would be great😊
I started incorporating Zercher Squats because of you! The strength gains are evolving! Thank you!!
Amazing! Just this week I thought I dont think I can do barbell back squats anymore because of a lower back injury ... so today Day 1 of Zerchers! Thanks, Eugene and love the format. It's so calm and energizing at the same time! Keep up the awesome work!
Nice one!! Glad to hear it
@@stakuv86I love how it seems more realistic to real world muscular use demands.

Pleasantly surprised. I'm not a vegetarian, but now I want to try tofu. 😅 it really looks good.
Yay! Thank you! 🙏
I‘m vegan and I had the same thought. Very plantbased protein is rare in the fitness industry ;)
I'll make an exception. You will be invited to the bbqs
I’m so glad you’re continuing this format.. keep it going please… great stuff!
Thank you for the support!

Loving this format. Feels like a breath of fresh air. No drama, love the asmr vibe too. Just the sounds of pumping iron.
Loving this format. I personally prefer the long-form style you have adopted in the recent videos. You are relaxed, calm, and content with the format too, so long may it continue. You are a role model to many.

Doing Zerchers rn as i don’t have a squat rack and it’s amazing. The burn I feel in my quads is insane. Please keep uploading these kinds of videos !
The physique journey is one thing, but the hair journey is another, and IMO this is the best Eugene haircut yet.... very evocative of 1980s movie stars

The deadlift advice is choice! I just did mine this morning and hardly felt the low back. Loaded the hams perfectly. Thanks
Great to hear!

This is sick! Love the difference in content, the variety is nice and you’ve done a great job with the production aesthetic!
Thank you very much!
Keep this uuuup!!! And do more eating stuff. The aesthetics are on another level!
Love the new format!
Loving the new vlog format!! More recipes please!!! Always great when Mom gives a recipe a thumbs up ❤👍
Love to see this type of content from you - keep going with these!
I lived with a Chinese family for a while and to make sure we got the water out we would wrap the block in paper towels and weigh it down with a plate. And repeat this another time or two while we prepped the other ingredients.
Never thought about the freezing method. Interesting!
This was a nice vlog! I like this format. It's nice to watch while I get ready in the morning
Jeez that's heavy for zerchers. I find 90 to be extremely hard & you're out there hitting 115 & looking normal after. Much respect..
Great evolution of the content with the recipes. Thanks !
Your last vlog just came into my feed and your content has really amazed me brother 💯 . So calming - no bs - it just hits different.

Welcome aboard!
Love the energy! Keep doing what your doing!
Love this new format Eugene - also interesting to see your leg extension set-up follows the latest research (hips extended).
I'd really like to do leg extensions but my right knee cap refuses to cooperate 😁.
I really like this type of content, it's interesting because it's not only hypertrophy but health and functional training too.
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks for inspiration in this video man, gotta try it for sure!!
That jumping was very cute tbh.
Haha thank you
Your mom is the sweetest. I'm skeptical to try tofu again because i can never get the texture right but ill have to try this!
Good luck!!
Really enjoying these videos Eugene
Glad to hear it
17:46 Awwww such a sweet moment 🥰🥰🥰
Favourite trainer on this platform

Your back is insane!!! I know it’s a video about legs but good gah!
Great stuff .. can’t wait to make these for my family .. really digging this style of content!
Hope y'all enjoy them!
Bro I bought your straps and your ankle thingies lol really great quality! Love that we use the same wrist straps now :D
Glad you like them!

ET!! I’ve been waiting for you to post this 🙏🏼👏🏻

My GF's a life-long vegetarian, I'm gonna blow her mind with this one, cheers Eugene. Much love from across the ditch. 🥝🤝🐨
Thank you for the recipe! That deserves a like and a subscribe.
Great video! Definitely gonna try that cue tomorrow with my rdls 💪🏽
Thanks for the video, man! Very informative. Where did you get those pants?

Zercher has become my favorite squat variation.
3:05 that is the most relatable thing till date!
Great tip to save lower back by using a snatch grip during deadlifts!
I've been enjoying front squats so much recently
Back squats are great but the load on the spine is something to take into account, and variants with less load on the spine feel so much better on recovery for the low back
Ill try the 1st exrcices next time look benefits
Gonna try both of these!
To have a gym that empty what a dream
Love This❤

Love the new content :)
Thank you! 🙏 glad to hear it
dude i love zerchers, they feel brutal and super strong - also weirdly good on my lower back, which is always really nice.
Yes!!
the fact that this popped out in my feed makes me feel ready to conquer the world lmao ( I feel very inspired to start) is it possible to work out everyday? doing different body parts
Absolutely
Beautiful bass btw
Nice elbow excercise
Great recipe. I added it to collard greens and lentils.
I find the trap bar is great for activating hamstrings and glutes in deadlift
That back definition when you were showing the Zercher squats 😮
I love Zercher squats. Such a good back movement. My biggest problem with them is that I've had a hard time not hitting my arms on my legs and limiting depth.
Completely quiet gym all to yourself- sounds like a dream 😮
What kind of pants are those, mate? They seem to do a bang on job of withstanding some stress
I love that squat
So true!!! Once the compounds are done, I'm like, "whew" now its all the easy stuff from here on out! (sort of). Thanks again, this is really enjoyable stuff. Happy PR 🎉🐧🎉 5:00
PR's let's gooooo!

Hard to tell exactly from the angle shown, but it seems like you were getting only to about 90° of knee flexion and wouldn't it be better to get more ROM through the knees?
Yeah it'd be worthwhile adding some padding to the ankle pad to get more ROM

Man,these zeltzers or how they are called, seem like a ticket to tendonitis.Really cool to hit that high pr on those!
them tofu chunks look tasty af
Eugene vlog enjoyer checking in
🥲I miss the zercher and the snatch grip deadlift. I’d use fat gripz for my elbow crease.
the little beep of the Ganbaru workbuddy
Eugene plays bass ?!? my hero
🤝
Hi, Eugene! :) Regarding to traditional barbell back squat, I am curious about your recommendations about the best way possible to warm up (with sets and reps) for big powerful squats. Thank you for helping me in this regard! :)
This is random but ur kitchen is really nice
Thanks!
Zercher squats are much easier than front squats if you can stand the discomfort.
Agreed
Do you have suggestions on the bar position etc. against the discomfort
Like neo... Don't try to bend the spoon, you are really bending yourself 🙏🏼👌🏼 great tip man thanks
I like the part where he gives us a reason why this form is better
Was that an epic mum cameo at the end?
😄😄
Hi Eugene Teo, what’s the name of the program it is on the app?
As a newly pescatarian for a couple of years, I'm trying this tofu recipe. Maybe after trying it I can graduate to becoming vegetarian.
Is there any video of yours or anyone else that you would recommend to explain proper setup and technique for the zercher squat?
Are there any substitutions for exercise 3?
Ever record any music? I see all that gear back there.
On the rare occasion. But I prefer just playing
9:30 the bar after 9 months : 🤰
Would the wide grip on the stiff deadlifts be a better option for a shorter person too? I am only 5'6" so just wondering if would help the movement of the bar with the stiff leg deadlifts or would it be just down to someones body make up as to what feels better?
Want to try work in some zercher squats into my program, like the carry over to more everyday lifting position then a back squat.
How do you drop the bar if you get stuck in Zercher?
I like Zercher Squats, but have been having difficulty getting my hips as low as you do. I'm 6' 3" so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway it's a goal for me to work toward. Thank you!
Tall guy here. My arms jam into my legs stopping me from going low.
What is a warmup set for Zercher Squat considerd? Is it slowly repping up weight from ~ 60/70kg to 100 at your weight range?
Maybe an odd question but have you ever talked about your gym attire 😅?
Flats or squat shoes for zerchers?
while you were lifting, I couldn't keep my eyes off the fit. What kind of pants and shoes were you wearing in this video so I can pick up a pair
What would be a benefit of the zercher squat compared to a backsquat or even front squat?
They seem very interesting yet as an asmwrestler/ grippsports athlete I am afraid to hurt my elbows/ forearms.
Any feedback would be great😊
I give an explanation on that specific question in the video!
@@coacheugeneteo Alright, thanks must have skipped that part👍
