Great video. Hahah cardboard box. Same with my scar 20. $5k rifle and comes in box 📦 😭. I just picked up the mod 2 in grey. Just waiting for my background check but it’s paid for 🇺🇸 🥇
Yeah I guess they gotta cut costs somewhere and figure we’re going to use something else for transport/storage 🤷🏻♂️ Nice choice on both firearms, enjoy when you pick it up!
Excellent review. It’s interesting to see product changes over time. I have version 1.5 of the 1301 tac. Has the improved bolt release (no aftermarket shroud needed) and only a 5 round tube. It was under $1,400 and came in a nice hard plastic case. I feel like with mod 2 the price hike is way too high. Features are fantastic now but it does NOT cost beretta $500+ to have a longer tube and better hand guard. And companies using cardboard boxes is ridiculous. Spear LT, LWRC piston rifle, Benelli M4, now the 1301….all way too expensive to ship in cardboard lol
Thank you! Don't forget FN, my SCAR17 came in a cardboard box. My guess is they assume people are going to use a bag style or their own pelican or something, definitely cheaping out for what you are paying for.
@@spectre6682SCAR is a great example. It’s funny though because FN ships many pistols in nice and useful zipper cases. The FNX-45 I had came with the nicest soft case I’ve ever had. Different pouches inside to move around with Velcro, even a dedicated suppressor pouch. For $2,000+ a soft nylon rifle bag should be included as an industry standard. For $3,000+, we should be getting pelican cases with custom cut foam inside.
I am trailer trash and can not afford the 1302. It’s my dream gun. My 10 day wait period for safety of course is over Monday and I will get my 940 tactical. I hope I like it more than the Stoeger m3k I sold.
If you bought a newer one that only holds 5, you would need aftermarket stuff to get 7. If you’re only able to squeeze 6 in and just barely can’t fit the 7th, you have to remove the plastic plug at the end of the magazine tube that holds the spring in place

Yes. The 7 round magazines will be changed to 5 round magazines very soon if they haven't done so already. I am buying my 1301 Mod 2 tomorrow because once the 7 round models are sold out, only 5 round magazines will be issued due to ATF rules governing how many foreign parts can be on a factory build. (Something like 13 according to the information I read....maybe from Beretta(?). "From Northwest Firearms: Beretta has decided to temporarily stop producing its 1301 Tactical shotgun with a 7+1 capacity. Why? The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has raised concerns about the importation of certain parts needed to assemble the shotgun here in the U.S. Here's what's going on and what it means for you." [ I looked it up just today, before locating a 7 round model. I found several 5+1 , but don't recall which site I went to. Sorry... You shouldn't have too much trouble finding one though.....if not right away, then very soon after Jan 2025. That's why I had to pull the wallet out several months before I wanted to.] Good luck.
Great video. Straight to the point and everything was explained very well. Subscribed!

Cardboard box for my mod2 purchased in September. FN SCAR 17s was also wrapped in cardboard. Companies always chase the bottom line by reducing costs

That’s still a solid choice, and as long as you get comfortable with it and enjoy shooting it, that’s all that matters.
My mod 2 came in a beretta hard plastic case
My mistake , it’s a mod 1
@@clam741, Got my hopes up in one breath, and dashed them in the next breath. lol
I dig your format. You could totally pass as Costa’s cousin lol
Thanks, haha I have met him a few times now, I'll let him know next time I see him.
How do you get 7 rounds in the tube

Can you post links to the mods done to your 1301 please?

I need a 5 round mag tube. Anyone know if that's possible? Thanks for the video.
