- I purchased the REDTIGER F7N Dash Cam for my own daily use so decided to produce a video about it. It's a good price and has a ton of features. I enjoy pulling the video from these dash cameras and putting them together for these types of VLOG posts.

If you live in CALIFORNIA.. for daylight saving time spring forward I recommend switching to gmt mountain time us &canada Arizona and denver .. the dash cam u fortunately doesn’t recognizes daylight saving time.. if you change the time it goes back to the timezone that you pick.. when falls agains switch it back to pacific las Angeles and tajuana .. it sucks but overall this dash cam works great!! Great hd quality too.. worth the price!!
Thanks for the comment and your insight into daylight savings time. Appreciate that you watched the video!!!

Thanks Gray Trend. Nice job, I'm installing the front and rear cameras today on my Mercedes. Drivers on the road are getting really crazy lately. It's time to start recording the insanity. Many thanks for you and you're video.

I deliver for UberEats so I am driving several hours a day so I just purchased this dashcam and will install today.
It's a great in car DVR. Still using mine and it's working great! Thanks for the comment and for watching the video!
Just because you didn’t want the rearview camera and all those extra settings some of us might, it would’ve been nice if you showed us all the settings. But still good job
Thank you for your comment! You're right, and I'd planned to install the rear camera in my back window until I noticed the window has a full length sun shade screen that rises from the bottom of the rear window up to the top and there was nowhere for me to place the camera inside my car without the sun shade hitting it. When I put together the video, it was in the middle of winter and very cold out so I was waiting until summer to take a stab at possibly installing the rear camera somehow through the trunk and out to the license plate area at the rear of the car. If I do go ahead with that installation, I'll post a 2nd part to this video. Aside from that, my REDTIGER in car DVR is working like a champ for me. Best of luck to you Richard!!!
And thanks so much for subscribing!!!
Thanks dear
It was pretty good one
Cheers👍🏻
By the way where are you from ?

How do I manually save something? If I witness a crash and I want to save it and I'm not paired to my cam with my phone, is there a combo of button to save video manually?
The best and a pretty easy way to save a video is to pull the MicroSD card from the unit and download the video from the MicroSD card onto your laptop or desktop computer. If you don't already have a MicroSD card reader in your laptop or desktop computer, you'll need to purchase a MicroSD card adapter which are usually around $12 to $15 dollars on Amazon. Here's one for ~$7 dollars: www.amazon.com/Keychain-Leizhan-Adapter-Compatible-Windows/dp/B09L4NDV4T/ref=pd_day0fbt_img_sccl_2/141-1925597-9902253?pd_rd_w=OKo4j&content-id=amzn1.sym.9b14949a-3979-4b7d-b182-b07adcc4c0e7&pf_rd_p=9b14949a-3979-4b7d-b182-b07adcc4c0e7&pf_rd_r=3TAMK66WFH5XYXNVF119&pd_rd_wg=Nkpw7&pd_rd_r=845c3c1e-8599-4684-86b6-1c745a66f87c&pd_rd_i=B09L4NDV4T&th=1
nice video brother but you forgot to use the antistatic stickers supplied along with it before pasting the 3m sticker?
Thanks for the comment! Somehow I didn’t even notice the box had anti static stickers in it.
I noticed on most dash cam videos, cammers will hit record to capture an incident, how do you prevent an incident captured from being overwritten from the 5 minute loop?
Yes, this camera has a G-Shock sensor which senses fast changes in motion and will save the video to a file that will not be written over.
Good video JT really shows how well the cam works! Just got mine, installing it soon possibly make a video. I loved the ending where you showed the cuts! I’m working on subscribers too lol 👍🏼
Thanks for the comment! Good luck with your purchase. The camera is working great for me. Yes, I like to throw something in that's unexpected. Best of luck on your channel. I'll check it out!
Thank you for the video. Do you know how to save a specific video. Say someone cut you off or you witnessed an accident from a distance. Something where your car wasn’t hit or had an abrupt stop that would trigger the camera to save it.
Thank you for the comment! What I usually do is remove the MicroSD card and place it into my SD card reader which I can plug into my laptop. I can copy the latest video or videos from my DVR to my laptop, then watch them on the laptop or send them to any authority who may want to review them. This is the SD card reader I have: www.amazon.com/dp/B07DJT5GPT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I hope this helps!
I think I saw on another video that you can press a button on the right side to have it lock a video (prevent it from being overwritten). I do not have one (yet).
@@donireland6218 Thanks for the comment! Yes, while driving and the in car DVR is recording you can press the top right button on the unit if you want to lock the current video and save it for later. Thanks for watching the video!
Have you experienced the SD card getting filled because the loop feature doesn't work? I've read reviews that say this is a problem. I want to buy this but would prefer something you can set and forget. Also what can you say about the G-sensor mode? Too sensitive? Not sensitive enough? Does it record only 1 minute videos after a collision detection? Can it record for longer?
Thanks for the comment! I hadn't heard about the SD card loop feature issue. So far, knock on wood, I've had no issues with the dash cam.
@@GrayTrend thank you!
Did you ever have an issue where the camera briefly stops recording then continues to record? It has a 5-10 second delay after each recording.
By the way I have a 16gb micro sd
←
@@Luanitylolso far no issues. I've checked a few recordings and didn't notice any gaps between them. Had it for over a year now and none of my initial concerns ever occurred. Great product.
Is the connector on the camera USB-mini or micro-USB? I already have a prewired USB-mini, so that would be cool if I could just use the existing power supply. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment! My research tells me you’ll need a micro-USB connector. Maybe there’s a mini-USB to micro-USB adapter out there that will work for you. Good luck!!!
I misspoke in my last comment. I currently have a micro-USB connector. Sounds like I'd be good to go. Thank you.
@@ChuckRowe That’s awesome news! Congratulations!!!
Needed the rear cam install !! Boo.
Thanks for the comment! Sorry, I’d planned to install the rear camera internally but my car has an electric controlled sun shade in the back window so there’s no where I can place the camera in the back window. I might install the rear camera externally through the trunk. If I do, I’ll make a video of it.
I have a question I hope you can help me when the camera is recording and when I want to review the camera it is not recording a lot of things that I want to see it is not working what is the solution?
I would try a couple of things.
(1) You can update the firmware on your device: ua-cam.com/video/lMz1g3O9SPE/v-deo.html
(2) I’d make sure you’re using a U3 Speed Micro-SD Card (Search on Amazon: B0B7KZR2XM). This Micro-SD Card is strongly recommended for 4K video storage. Please Format the card before use, and do not use any “SanDisk Ultra” or "Generic Class 10 for HD Video" Cards.
There should also be a way to reset the unit if the other two things don't work for you.
I Just have to say beautiful house Sir very nice 👍Very nice town what town or state is this at all the houses are space out Also very nice choice of music.
Thanks for the comment! We live in Northern Virginia. We do like and enjoy our home. Thank you very much and appreciate that you enjoyed the video and the music!
If you hardwired it will it drain the battery or if you turn it off because I don't need it turned on when I park it in the garage will it drain the battery
Thanks you for your comment! From what I've researched, if you hardwire your camera with two wires, one wire for power and one wire for ground, they typically connect to a fuse that charges when the vehicle is turned on. When the car is off, you will not drain your battery. If you use a 3 wire hardwire kit, one wire for constant power, one wire for battery power and one wire for ground, your camera can remain on when the car is turned off which will drain the car's battery. I hope this helps, and best of luck to you!!!
It has a cutoff below 11.6 volt it stops drawing power
Does it have to stay plugged in for the dashcam to work?
Thanks for the comment! If your dash cam is plugged into an always-on accessory port or hardwired for power, you may also be able to record when the car is off. There is a REDTIGER Hardwire Kit sold on Amazon ($19.99) if you want to go that route. It's here: www.amazon.com/REDTIGER-Hardwire-Version-Monitoring-Protection/dp/B0B7HRPYV4/ref=asc_df_B0B7HRPYV4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=632120436847&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7722624570771471871&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007577&hvtargid=pla-1928879179385&psc=1®ion_id=674469
Best of luck to you!!!
Does it connect to android phones?
Why do you think they did not just do a USB for a charger so we can play with it inside the house? How did you get the video from it? Do you get it in the app? Did you just take the SD card, put it in adapter in computer? So many questions! 😬
Honestly, I don't mess around with the app. I just pull the micro-SD card and put it in a micro-SD to USB-C adapter, then plug it into my computer. Seems to be the easiest way to transfer the video from the in-car DVR to my computer.
My guess is they don't supply a camera to USB connector due to profit margins and price point to sell each unit. If you'd rather leave the micro-SD card in the unit and connect via hardwire from the unit to your computer, there are Car Cigarette Lighter Socket (Female) to USB A adapters for sale (around $7.00) on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Cigarette-Converter-Electronic-Automotive-Equipment/dp/B08N4FGJ8F/ref=asc_df_B08N4FGJ8F/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=508425607167&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=666719310702576995&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007577&hvtargid=pla-1281047336103&psc=1
Best of luck to you. Your husband got you an awesome in car DVR. I'm still enjoying having mine in my car. Hope you have a great day!
i need help with the whole wifi process.. it says no internet connection
Thanks for the comment! I'm not sure where you are in the process. I assume you've downloaded and installed the Ucam Dashcam app on your phone. Once you do that, you should be able to route yourself to the WiFi area on the REDTIGER unit, open WiFi and select "On", go to your phone's WiFi area and look for a network that starts with F7N. Select the F7N network and use the default password 12345678. If this works you should be able to open your Ucam app and be connected to your REDTIGER Dashcam. If it still says "no internet connection" you might be more than 10 feet from the REDTIGER unit or there may be an obstruction in the way that is making the signal weak. I hope this helps. If not, you can contact the REDTIGER folks at redtiger.cam@gmail. They're supposed to have 24 hour service 7 days a week. Best of luck to you, and please let me know how it goes.
Nice to see your presentation video. Great video!

Thanks for the comment. Sorry, yes as soon as I downloaded the app I set up WiFi and didn’t they that part on video.

I wish you had included how to add the camera to the wifi. It may be hammer time.
Thanks for the comment! You know, you're right. Not sure why I didn't show when I connected to the internet via WiFi and connected to the app. I just got another RedTiger F7N for my wife so I'll do another video and I'll put that information in the video I'm about to make. Should be this weekend I hope. Best of luck to you!

You may need to delete the app and re-install it.
@@GrayTrend thanks for your response Gray. I did all that you suggested, e.g., deleted the app from my iPhone and reinstalled it, and went through the connection process step-by-step as you recommended. The dash cam connects to my wifi just fine, (showing no internet connection) as it did in your video. However, the dash cam will NOT connect to my REDTIGER iPhone app. It keeps saying, "Connection Failed". I also tried emailing REDTIGER for help. My email came back rejected, saying I wasn't authorized to the email address provided!
@@GrayTrend I watched your other video and commented on that stream. I did everything you recommended including deleting and reinstalling the REDTIGER app. I succeeded in connecting the camera to my wifi (with "No internet connection" showing, as it did in your video), but the app still gives me a "Connection failed" when I try to connect the camera to my iPhone. I'm getting close to the point of returning the device to Amazon.
@@singerman64 Hmmmm, yes, you may have a bad unit. That shouldn’t be happening.
Does anyone know if this is compatible with the Samsung galaxy A01? I was going to get a nexar but they arent compatible.
Hello and thank you for the comment! According to this site (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.youqin.dvrpv&hl=en_US&gl=US) The UCAM app requires android 5.0 or higher operating system (OS). I couldn’t find information specific to the Samsung Galaxy A01 or Nexar with respect to the UCAM app the REDTIGER F7N connects to via WiFi. I hope in some way this helps, and best of luck to you!
@@GrayTrend No it didnt you son of a... JK!! Thanks man this helped alot. Yeah, I didnt find any info either, but it does say Android version req is 6, and I have version 11. However Nexar says it requires 8 and up, but didnt list my phone as supported. I dunno - Ive written to them because I dont see a phone number or anything on their website, so we'll se if they respond to me. It says 24x7 support, and its been several hours now.
@@tellurye That was good! It’s a bit strange to me that there isn’t more information out there on the interweb that helps folks in your situation. Part of what I do with my videos is try my best to provide additional information to people with similar interests in things I’ve purchased. I started posting videos around 5 months ago so I’m fairly new at it and I’m learning constantly myself. I’ve had the dash camera for a few months now and it’s still working great for me. I certainly hope you find the information you’re looking for and things turn out well for you.
@@GrayTrend MR. Trend!!! I did it!! I installed both front and rear cameras! I do have a question - What app should I use - the manual says UCam, but I did Redtiger F7 and everything seems to work fine, but I thought the camera, as long as your phone and camera are connected within the app, automatically uploaded videos to the cloud we get for free? IS that right? Right now only videos I see I think are on the SD card. Thanks for any info, and if I get to annoying just tell me to call support. I dont want to abuse this relationship.
UPDATE: Here's my results. Pretty cool, until the end - have to think of a good place to store those extra wires.

You didn’t use the special electrostatic pad on your windshield to make getting the 3m pad off. 🤣
Thanks for the comment! No I didn't. It'll never come off.
razor blade should take care of it🙂
After using it what I don’t like nor understand is the charger being the cigarette lighter instead of a regular usb so if you are low on you cell phone battery and you are driving you need to unplug it. This will stop your recording while you are charging your phone. I don’t understand why a) it does not have a little battery inside so that it has some charge while you are charging your phone. Your car has 2 cigarette stations. Many cars do not. So I will say this is a major disadvantage for this item. I haven’t used the rear camera yet.
Vivian, thanks for the comment. My guess (and this is only a guess) is that the manufacturer wants the product to be able to be powered in most cars. I recently learned that cars built before 2006 (most all of them) do not have USB slots in them and this may be a reason why a lot of in-car DVRs are sold with cigarette lighter power plugs. I did find an adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter and also provides a cigarette lighter outlet, two older USB ports and a newer USB-C port. It’s here: www.amazon.com/USB-Car-Charger-Cigarette-Splitter/dp/B088FJDDZ5/ref=sr_1_13?crid=2FI4NVJ0C13VL&keywords=cigarette+lighter+with+cigarette+lighter+usb+charger&qid=1661120797&smid=AAH6DG6V378M4&sprefix=cigarette+lighter+with+cigarette+lighter+usb+charger%2Caps%2C99&sr=8-13
Best of luck to you and I hope you can get to a point where you can power up all of your ancillary devices and your in-car DVR.

I initially planned to, but my rear window has a shade that spans the entire length of the window and automatically goes up and down which would hit the camera if I placed it in the back window. I didn’t know that when I started video taping the installation. Hopefully there’s a video out there that can help you with the installation of the rear camera. Best of luck to you!

The sound is too low
Thanks for the feedback and comment! I'll work on the audio quality.
I got mine and had all these parts, ok... this would've been a whole lot better if I got to watch what piece went where. But instead he put it together without me seeing what he did. So I sat here re-watching it to get an idea of what part went to what. I had to guess. Obviously he knows already how to do it but I had no clue. So now I'll have to surf the internet for more videos that may be more clear, step by step. Because of this, I put a thumbs down. No, it's not easy as he makes it to be. Now what do I do with the GPS? He needs to re-do this video showing each step, not jump to parts already put together that I didn't get to see.
Thanks for the comment!
It's not for you...go have someone install it for slow people like you! It's not so hard to follow the video.!😁😏
