Absolutely agree with your point that things are changing regarding the consumers. Myself and my partner (we are in our late 30’s and are lower to middle class) and enjoy a nice one at the weekend on an at home date night when the kids are in bed in our lock down built home bar with an espresso martini, whisky or good sipping tequila. It’s all very relaxing.
The FDA study named Monogram #9 People who smoke 1-2 Premium cigars a day live longer than Everyone. Even NON Smokers. Not only is it not as bad as cigarettes but it can actually be beneficial to you.
MONOGRAPH 9: Cigars: Health Effects and Trends (National Cancer Institute) For anyone who would like to read it for themselves and what it really says.
I'm sorry, but did you read the study you provide? From the summary in the chapter on Disease Consequences: Risk ratios of All Cause Mortality for cigar smokers are higher than rates for neversmokers, though generally lower than rates observed for cigarette smokers. Cigar smokers who inhale exhibit all cause mortality rates that are higher than the rates for cigar smokers who do not inhale, and the risk ratios for inhaling cigar smoke approach the rates for cigarette smokers. The risk ratios increase with increasing number of cigars smoked per day and increasing depth of inhalation. I'm not saying stop smoking, but don't delude yourself into thinking it's not potentially impacting your health. I smoke the occasional cigar and I do so with the full knowledge that they are unhealthy. Just like that glass of whiskey I have sometimes, or that double cheeseburger. Better than pretending it's good for you.
@ first off, yes I read it. Second, premium cigars are not intended to be inhaled. This is the crux of the statement. They lump in people who inhale cigars and say they have a higher all cause mortality rate. Yeah at that point it's no different than smoking cigarettes. It's the smoke being insured that's the issue here. Once they filter out non inhalers then the all cause mortality changes. Also remember this study was done by the FDA so they could justify more taxes to increase their own budget, their own interests. The opinion piece is very much biased. But the actual study isn't and when non inhaler cigar smokers are looked at there is a curious corelation to increased health Benifits that can't be denied and are worthy of more study. Especially when you look at a study that came out on the effects of nicotine in rats.
@@louis.vitsas You are misinterpreting the contents of this study. Cigar smokers that do not inhale are specifically analysed seperately and mentioned as such it even has numerous tables breaking these numbers apart. You're quoting research that contradicts you.
I would caution on the point of nicotine, some cigars actually pack quite a bit of it and it absorbs just fine through the membranes in your mouth and nose. If you smoke multiple times a day this will be a very significant dose of nicotine. It's one reason I limit myself to one per week on maximum, besides avoiding mouth cancer risks. Moderation is the saviour.
I remember in the 1990s women smoking cigars was huge It was normal to see women smoking cigars on television. Then it sort of slowed down in the 2000s. Also the only time ive seen women smoking cigars on the streets in public was in the 90s
Depends which ones, full bodied cigars maybe have in the hundreds But mild the one she is smoking Ashton and Arturo Fuente tends to be very low in nicotine and you’re not inhaling
Root beer, in my opinion, is the single most delicious thing to pair with a cigar. Alcoholic or not. I used to think it was coffee or whiskey. They’re good, but root beer is better.
The torch simply obsoleses the feeble flint lighter. The only downside is that some cops (if you are searched) want to believe you're a crackhead and add you to their list of great accomplishments for that day.
Cigars have alot of nicotine lol. Way more than cigarettes in fact. Nicotine is not being stripped from the leafs.. There is stronger tobacco and less strong thus also stronger and less stronger cigars but all have way more nicotine than a cigarette. Also while u don't inhale still have risk of mouth and throat cancer. Cigars are not healthy, people should know that. That said, i love them and just seasoned my second 300ct humidor
You know what? Cigars ARE expensive, but seeing a woman smoking a cigar is better than seeing a woman smoking a rollup. Rollups to me signify poverty and nicotine desperation fix. It is very unattractive to me personally.
I have to strongly disagree with "stripping out" most of the nicotine. Cigars have a HUGE amount of nicotine compared to cigarettes. Yes, fermentation does break down a bit of the nicotine, but it's really strong tobacco to start with, while the junk in cigarettes is really low grade.

A beautiful woman with a British accent smoking a fine cigar. There is a God...
she herself give class to the smoking activity
Not enough women like her do cigars.

Love to pair a coffee with my cigars
Damn she is gorgeous and so lovely. That accent is wonderful.
Cigars contain between 25 - 600mg of nicotine (depending on size). A cigarette contains an average of around 8mg
Depends which ones, full bodied cigars maybe have in the hundreds
But mild the one she is smoking

My ex-girlfriend who is American told me years ago that cigars remind her of gangsters and Republicans. We are neither.

Drinking alcohol also poses a risk of mouth and throat cancer, Most people forget that
Not sure whats better, the Cigar, your accent, or your face mmmmmm lol
