Why Cuban Cigars Are So Expensive | So Expensive

- Cuban cigars hold a reputation as the world's most opulent tobacco product. A box of good quality Habanos can cost thousands of dollars. Every hand-rolled Cuban cigar goes through about 500 manual tasks from seed to cigar. But over the last 25 years, cigars made in other countries in the Caribbean and Central America have become comparable in quality, consistency, and cost. Some experts suggest that up to 95% of all Cuban cigars in the US, which hasn't allowed the import of Cuban cigars since the 1962 embargo, are actually counterfeit. So why are Cuban cigars so desirable? And is that why they're so expensive?

Same. They just look, appetising and appealing.
Cigarettes and alcohol addiction actually destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
Amen God bless people. Save your health save your mind. Life is better without heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cigarettes. And you have more money in your pocket. God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health.
Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them
YES very sure of Dr.benfungi. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Congrats! I'm really happy for you that your friend decided to help you. I always admire those who beat their addiction. Knowing it's possible to fix your life knowing there's people out there that have done what I thought was impossible gives me hope I will make it through as well. Those who share their experiences don't know how much it helps when you're about to give up, it gives you the strength knowing somone who actully know what it's like to go through this tell you it's possible, it's not the same somone telling you you can do it when they have no idea what it's like, but hearing somone who knows what it's like that helps a lot since you understand it firsthand and made it out gives so much hope. so thanks for sharing.

I once had the opportunity to share a pair of Cohibas with a friend. One a Dominican Republic stick from the local shop, the other a Cuban from his recent visit to Cuba where he took a factory tour. We passed them back and forth and neither of us could tell the difference. Others might be able to distinguish them, but we couldn’t. So I just find the cigars that appeal to me and don’t worry about origin. Good brands from reputable stores make good cigars.
That's a good way to go, truthfully most of the cigar families fled Cuba when Fidel took over, and brought their knowledge and skills with them to make fine tobacco products and Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras.
Dominican Cohibas are from the same seeds, it's the soil and the and QA that might make a difference.

I was an occasional cigar smoker many years ago, and have had the pleasure of smoking two Cuban made cigars in the span of 10 years. The aspects that made those experiences memorable:
*_The smoothness of the smoke from the first puff to the last._* Why so remarkable? The lowest priced run-of-the-mill packaged cigars sold by retailers, such as at grocery stores, those cigars have a tolerable taste with the first couple of puffs; but the taste, or flavor, of the cigar gets harsher the longer the smoking time is done with that cigar. I refer to the flavor harshness as a *bite* to the cigar's tobacco smoke; which is most pronounced on the tongue, with that *bite* to the tongue getting nastier as the cigar gets down to the last two inches. Whereas, with the two Cuban cigars I smoked, the flavor was remarkably smooth from the first puff to the last; even down to the last inch. Only the heat of the burning tobacco prevented me from smoking it down to the last half-inch. I was astounded at the lack of *bite* with those Cuban cigars.
*_Storage of the Cuban cigars was very forgivable._* Cigars that dry out are brittle and are nasty tasting to smoke, which is a reason why cigar humidors are used to preserve the integrity of premium cigars; as cigar storage with a level of humidity keeps the tobacco wrapper intact and provides a smooth flavor with smoking. With the Cuban cigars I had, they were given to me in plastic sandwich bags; not ideal for proper storage, and stayed in the bags for at least six months before smoking. When I extracted the cigars from the bags, the tobacco wrapper stayed intact, and both cigars smoked smoothly from first puff to last.
Those two Cuban cigar smoking experiences made a believer out of me of why the cigars from Cuba are so highly touted and coveted.
I might try it one day just to experience something new
@@kiloklavdi1185 Just remember to allow the cigar smoke to fill your mouth and not enter your lungs. 45 years ago I accidently inhaled cigar smoke into my lungs, which gave me a coughing fit that lasted a minute.
@@bloqk16 I'll try to keep remembering that. Thanks
that self-humidification doesn't sound like something that could plausibly be explained by origin, it sounds more like something that could be explained by some fuckery with glycerin or what not.
Not reading all that
I don't even smoke and I want a set of them to collect. 😅
Same lol
They do look cool in that nice wooden box
You need to store them in correct relative humidity and temperature if you do. About 65-68 percent humidity and 16-18 degrees Celsius temperature. Slightly lower levels of both humidity and temperature should be present for long-term ageing
Benz1209 it’s not like ima use them I just want them to look cool.
@@yornald2501 they dry up and get fucked up and start cracking
The only time I have ever smoked in my life was at my high school graduation. We were all 18 (the legal smoking age at the time, now it's 21) and one of the cadets brought a cuban cigar. Pre light, it actually had a nice smell.
Unfortunately.
@@FreedomFirst1st what’s unfortunate?
@@Charziken It seems that every year, legislators keep eroding the civil rights and civil liberties of those who are 18 years old. Shame.
My brother lives in Norway. I live in Vietnam. During a visit to Vietnam when he was 17 and I was 16, we bought a pack of 5 cigars. It took us 1 day to consume 1 cigar, super strong and last so long. The other 4 we gifted elders because cigar was too much for us at that time. Hahaha
Habanos cigars can't even be shipped to Miami, FL, although it's a city with the highest rate of Cuban immigrants.
I thought they could be as long as they were shipped to say Australia first and from there to Miami. I could be wrong
We have Cuban cigars here in Miami. When there’s a will there’s a way.
@nicolas bellon Don't worry. Smoking will never become an outlaw in Cuba. There, always legal is tobacco.
To many retards would try and smuggle something
I GAT MINE FROM CUBA TO NYC
I bought it, it cost just a few bucks
I bought it in Red dead redemption 2
Understandable have a great day
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
Ma boah...
Dio Brando dear god it’s dio Brando

Michell Orchant makes me remember the stories about the 50's dostors when used to recip cigars because was a healty way to expand the lungs, the sugar wasn't bad for kids and even were better in breakfast or than CO2 didn't was the cause of climate chage.
"theres not better, just different" That guy is wise, can appreciate new things and old things.
I lived in the Dominican Republic and they make some GREAT cigars there.
Dominicans and Nicaraguans cigars are high quality cigars. They are up there with Cubans cigars.
@@megadago100 You know why, because Cubans have opened cigar factories in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Honduras and have taken their expertise and knowledge to improve the quality of those cigars.
I love my DR Cigars
I just came back from a vacation there, and brought home some cigars! Do you know of any reputable places here in the US where I can order Dominican cigars to be shipped to my house?
@@diegobelaunde4965 no I don't. Your best bet is to buy them in the DR and bring them back to the USA.
Seeing this makes me want to smoke a Cuban cigar and I don't even smoke.
LMFAO 😁 love it
Try it, I watched a video like this a few weeks ago and it made me try one. It’s such a great relaxation. Just like proper chill because it takes you so long to smoke it.
@@StanislavChyzhman ok I'll keep that in mind.
@@StanislavChyzhman the smell is really good, but i hate the taste
@@Ob_Bashar taste might be due to the level of humidity in the cigar. The wrapper gets to dry and taste bitter. I’ve seen guys dip the cigar in a glass of water, foot first, for a split second. The cigar takes on a bit of moisture and helps with taste. If it’s your first time I would try it with an inexpensive cigar.
I've never smoked but now I actually want to try one of these cigars
I like to pretend to smoke them
I’m literally doing it right now 😂
The closest thing to a Puro(as we call them in spanish) is a shot of whisky because of the smokiness and the way both things take years for them to have a special flavour and stuff.
