When I was six years old I found my dads cigar but I don’t know what is cigar it looked like chocolate so I unwrapped in and bit into it. It was not chocolate.
I don’t smoke or drink, but I absolutely love the craft, artistry, and history that go into creation of a peaty single malt, a good Cabernet, and a hand rolled cigar.
I puff and drink. It's all good in moderation, and I'm actually buying cigars just a couple of times per year. Day to day I don't puff anything. They go well with coffee as well! It's still bad for your health, but there's something in that fragrant moment that you take for yourself. All the thoughts come to you as you sit on the balcony and listen to the nature around you... It's basically aromatherapy. Quite nice! Just obey the warnings.
i miss u kakyoin you need to find doing what makes you want to smoke.. when you find it (it can be sitting alone or something) try to avoid that as much as possible and if you get an urge start working out and have a good mindset and say every time u think you want to smoke I want you to look up the side effects of smoking and read it out loud to yourself.. keep repeating and fight through the withdraw and ur free from this thing controling your life.. also tel your self I’m stronger than this please keep a positive mindset and a motivated one you can do this!!
I must say, as someone who isn't interested in smoking nor wants to try it, the cigars look so well-made. I love seeing these videos on certain products that are created with traditional ways, it just looks like it's made with passion and love.

When I was working in Hyderabad airport Customs,8 years ago,a European passenger had gifted me a small box of 'Habana' cigars ( 12 numbers,if my memory is correct) in return for a small favour which was within my official prerogative but not illegal.The aura and aroma of those cigars were such that it took me almost two years to completely smoke it - tasting, appreciating, evaluating, comparing,etc., going all the way to a period of two years!

Cuban hand-rollers are getting more and more rare as the art dies off. Lots of Cuban cigars are machine processed nowadays. Like many of the guys here, I really enjoy seeing craftsmen at work.

I once had the opportunity to share a pair of Cohibas with a friend. One a Dominican Republic stick from the local shop, the other a Cuban from his recent visit to Cuba where he took a factory tour. We passed them back and forth and neither of us could tell the difference. Others might be able to distinguish them, but we couldn’t. So I just find the cigars that appeal to me and don’t worry about origin. Good brands from reputable stores make good cigars.
That's a good way to go, truthfully most of the cigar families fled Cuba when Fidel took over, and brought their knowledge and skills with them to make fine tobacco products and Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras.
My ancestors are Cuban and my father actually just has one of the cigars in display dispite the fact he never smoked but he lived besides a cigar factory, he is 53 today and left cuba legally at 26

Cuban cigars are not expensive. Some brand names are expensive because they are sold to tourists. My mother used to make Cuban cigars. My grandfather used to make his own cigars. But here's the little secret: the factory that makes the expensive stuff also makes the local stuff using the same tobacco leaves. Every time I go to Cuba, I bring back the local stuff that is just as good as the expensive stuff but for pennies to the dollar. For example, a pack of 10 cigars of the local stuff goes for about 50 pesos or $2.00.

However, if you're going to Cuba in November, go out and buy local cigars from local shops in town that comes wrapped in paper packages instead of the expensive stuff that comes in fancy boxes. I been smoking cigars for 24yrs and I like to share some cigar wisdom. There is no such thing as a perfect cigar, regardless if it's Cuban or not. A "perfect cigar" is only perfect for you, base on your own preferences. An old saying among cigar connoisseurs, " a cigar is like a woman, each has its own beauty, style, and passion."
@@sevenproxies4255 Good choice. Like if i would like to smoke tobacco i would definitely use clean tobacco products instead of those ones covered with shitty chemicals. A few examples of what most of basic cigarettes contain: cadmium, polonium, benzopyrene, arsenic, butane, beryllium. People put all those in cigarettes to make the prices of them lower. So cigars are not so cheap because they are clean from the chemistry class experiments.
Here's a tip if you fly out of the country and would like to bring Cuban cigars back with you. I did this on a trip to Norway many years ago. I brought with me a dozen labels from Dominican cigars that I smoke. You also need to pack a glue stick. After purchasing my Cubans, I removed the label and put one of my domestic labels on each cigar. As long as no cigar has the "Habanos" on the label, customs will permit it into the country. You can then replace the original labels is you so desire. Easy-peesy.
I was an occasional cigar smoker many years ago, and have had the pleasure of smoking two Cuban made cigars in the span of 10 years. The aspects that made those experiences memorable: *_The smoothness of the smoke from the first puff to the last._* Why so remarkable? The lowest priced run-of-the-mill packaged cigars sold by retailers, such as at grocery stores, those cigars have a tolerable taste with the first couple of puffs; but the taste, or flavor, of the cigar gets harsher the longer the smoking time is done with that cigar. I refer to the flavor harshness as a *bite* to the cigar's tobacco smoke; which is most pronounced on the tongue, with that *bite* to the tongue getting nastier as the cigar gets down to the last two inches. Whereas, with the two Cuban cigars I smoked, the flavor was remarkably smooth from the first puff to the last; even down to the last inch. Only the heat of the burning tobacco prevented me from smoking it down to the last half-inch. I was astounded at the lack of *bite* with those Cuban cigars. *_Storage of the Cuban cigars was very forgivable._* Cigars that dry out are brittle and are nasty tasting to smoke, which is a reason why cigar humidors are used to preserve the integrity of premium cigars; as cigar storage with a level of humidity keeps the tobacco wrapper intact and provides a smooth flavor with smoking. With the Cuban cigars I had, they were given to me in plastic sandwich bags; not ideal for proper storage, and stayed in the bags for at least six months before smoking. When I extracted the cigars from the bags, the tobacco wrapper stayed intact, and both cigars smoked smoothly from first puff to last. Those two Cuban cigar smoking experiences made a believer out of me of why the cigars from Cuba are so highly touted and coveted.

Here, in Russia we have a warning about harm of smoking, but also a pictures of fat males with "impotence" text on it, or with other text with a picture of dead man's lungs, who died from smoking.
Quality control they spoke about is a huge problem. I'm in canada, so we have access. I can tell you, I constantly get cigars that are rolled too tight, or have discolouration spots and other problems. Stuff i never see on nicaraguan or Dominican cigars. Make no mistake, if communists weren't running the show the quality would be way higher. Having said that, a good, well executed cuban really is superior.
I smoke cigars from time to time for a few years now, wouldn't say i'm a connoisseur or expert at all. But i tried a lot so far and in my opinion cigars from Nicaragua are the best. Excellent taste, good workmanship and also affordable, a good cigar doesn't have to be expensive!

@@Ob_Bashar taste might be due to the level of humidity in the cigar. The wrapper gets to dry and taste bitter. I’ve seen guys dip the cigar in a glass of water, foot first, for a split second. The cigar takes on a bit of moisture and helps with taste. If it’s your first time I would try it with an inexpensive cigar.
I've toured a Cuban cigar factory twice. Their quality control is very exacting. I saw a pile of "rejects" that looked perfectly fine to me. I asked about them and they said they weren't perfectly rolled. They looked fine to me. The cigars are graded for colour, so each box of 25 cigars matches every other one in the box. They use a special gauge to ensure that each cigar band is placed in exactly the right spot. As the narrator said, the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba has perfect conditions for growing the best cigar tobacco. The leaves are carefully aged for years before the cigars are rolled. It's an amazing process.
their quality control is actually the worst of the 4 big nations (Nicaragua, Dominican Rep, Cuba & Honduras). On avg last year, 2-3 cigars in 10 were basically defective

Here’s what I’ve experienced in my years of cigar smoking , I’ve smoked 300 dollar padrons to 5 dollar punches. To me Cubans have a very distinct taste that I love. A 20 dollar Cuban in my opinion will out smoke any other new world cigar taste wise . With that being said new world cigars generally have better construction and presentation. I now live in the Philllipines and all I smoke are Cubans and I must say taste wise there’s nothing better than an authentic Cuban cigar .

That's why I love premium cigars, you know what you're in for. Alcohol companies try to hide the bad side. Cigar companies on the contrary are very upfront about it
@Valdis4418 that is true, but it's the general mentality of the premium cigar industry that I mean. Not those literal health warnings. No smoker cares about those, and the brands factories don't mind them as long as they don't hinder logistics and they can still display their brands in some sort. Speak to any salesman or brand manager and they will always tell you to enjoy in moderation, something they actually don't have to do by law. There is general atmosphere that is "we know there are risks, but enjoyment is fine as long as you do it in moderation" Having worked in a liquor store the alcohol industry doesn't care about this and wants to push people to drink as much as possible, something you won't see premium cigars makers do. They rather have quality above quantity. Even Scotch manufacturers often try to heavily push allot of scotch to the consumer. I think it's wrong that it's allowed that those companies have the room to do that, while small, artisan and labor intensive premium cigar manufacturers get treated the same as cigarettes. That's also why I do love the market, because everyone knows cigars are taking hits that are ment for cigarettes. Because premium cigars themselves are not that big of a deal for our society. To little consumption. Governments should watch out for alcohol and fast food industries more than they should fear premium cigars.

I once bought a long and thick cigar on the recommendation of the shop keeper and I was so excited and at the same time felt so cool. It tasted like a dead possum and the whole room was filled with so much smoke as if i was making some sort of barbecue, I smoked it for two weeks and then gave up and threw it away.
@Bishrut Bhattarai Wow. If I may ask, in this video they were lighting up the cigar with something that is not a matchstick. What is it and why? How does it affect the flavor? I've only seen the "don't light it with a lighter, use only a matchstick" from movies or tv shows.
If the cigar is decent and you smoke it properly, then it should taste and smell really good, even to a non smoker. Also, relighting your cigar is not recomended, especially after a long time. Find the time to *slowly* enjoy it all.
I have the cigar habit. With a glass of wine or my morning coffee. To me a good cigar is something that stays lit, burns uniformly, has an excellent aroma and doesn't bite.
I can only imagine, when I was in primary/elementary school in the early 80's I had a teacher who used to smoke a pipe in class lol plus my father used to bring home pipe tabacco tins from a fella he worked with for my sisters for hop scotch, I loved the smell of them tins, not quite cigars but the memory sticks.

There are levels to fine handcrafted premium cigar and spirits. Selective boutique manufacturers like Didier Cigars is truly special. I’ve done the pairing with Angels Envy and a Salomon from Didier Cigars. The experience is truly magical and sophisticated.
I'm a cigar smoker (I smoke about two per month so not enough to cause any harm but enough to enjoy them). I do very much enjoy Cuban cigars and always try to pick up a few when out of the country (you can own them here in the United States but it is still not legal to sell/purchase them here). However, Dominican tobacco is just as good.
I wouldn't fret about it. They're just cigars. If they weren't being aged properly they wouldn't be any good anyway. And like the guy in the video says, you can buy top shelf cigars from places like Honduras and the Dominican Republic now.

I once had the opportunity to share a pair of Cohibas with a friend. One a Dominican Republic stick from the local shop, the other a Cuban from his recent visit to Cuba where he took a factory tour. We passed them back and forth and neither of us could tell the difference. Others might be able to distinguish them, but we couldn’t. So I just find the cigars that appeal to me and don’t worry about origin. Good brands from reputable stores make good cigars.
That's a good way to go, truthfully most of the cigar families fled Cuba when Fidel took over, and brought their knowledge and skills with them to make fine tobacco products and Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras.
Dominican Cohibas are from the same seeds, it's the soil and the and QA that might make a difference.

But here's the little secret: the factory that makes the expensive stuff also makes the local stuff using the same tobacco leaves. Every time I go to Cuba, I bring back the local stuff that is just as good as the expensive stuff but for pennies to the dollar. For example, a pack of 10 cigars of the local stuff goes for about 50 pesos or $2.00.

However, if you're going to Cuba in November, go out and buy local cigars from local shops in town that comes wrapped in paper packages instead of the expensive stuff that comes in fancy boxes. Believe me, the local stuff is just as good if not better than the expensive stuff sold to tourists. Enjoy your visit.

A few examples of what most of basic cigarettes contain: cadmium, polonium, benzopyrene, arsenic, butane, beryllium. People put all those in cigarettes to make the prices of them lower. So cigars are not so cheap because they are clean from the chemistry class experiments.

Here's a tip if you fly out of the country and would like to bring Cuban cigars back with you. I did this on a trip to Norway many years ago. I brought with me a dozen labels from Dominican cigars that I smoke. You also need to pack a glue stick. After purchasing my Cubans, I removed the label and put one of my domestic labels on each cigar. As long as no cigar has the "Habanos" on the label, customs will permit it into the country. You can then replace the original labels is you so desire. Easy-peesy.
I was an occasional cigar smoker many years ago, and have had the pleasure of smoking two Cuban made cigars in the span of 10 years. The aspects that made those experiences memorable:
*_The smoothness of the smoke from the first puff to the last._* Why so remarkable? The lowest priced run-of-the-mill packaged cigars sold by retailers, such as at grocery stores, those cigars have a tolerable taste with the first couple of puffs; but the taste, or flavor, of the cigar gets harsher the longer the smoking time is done with that cigar. I refer to the flavor harshness as a *bite* to the cigar's tobacco smoke; which is most pronounced on the tongue, with that *bite* to the tongue getting nastier as the cigar gets down to the last two inches. Whereas, with the two Cuban cigars I smoked, the flavor was remarkably smooth from the first puff to the last; even down to the last inch. Only the heat of the burning tobacco prevented me from smoking it down to the last half-inch. I was astounded at the lack of *bite* with those Cuban cigars.
*_Storage of the Cuban cigars was very forgivable._* Cigars that dry out are brittle and are nasty tasting to smoke, which is a reason why cigar humidors are used to preserve the integrity of premium cigars; as cigar storage with a level of humidity keeps the tobacco wrapper intact and provides a smooth flavor with smoking. With the Cuban cigars I had, they were given to me in plastic sandwich bags; not ideal for proper storage, and stayed in the bags for at least six months before smoking. When I extracted the cigars from the bags, the tobacco wrapper stayed intact, and both cigars smoked smoothly from first puff to last.
Those two Cuban cigar smoking experiences made a believer out of me of why the cigars from Cuba are so highly touted and coveted.

Quality control they spoke about is a huge problem. I'm in canada, so we have access. I can tell you, I constantly get cigars that are rolled too tight, or have discolouration spots and other problems. Stuff i never see on nicaraguan or Dominican cigars. Make no mistake, if communists weren't running the show the quality would be way higher.
Having said that, a good, well executed cuban really is superior.

I smoke cigars from time to time for a few years now, wouldn't say i'm a connoisseur or expert at all. But i tried a lot so far and in my opinion cigars from Nicaragua are the best. Excellent taste, good workmanship and also affordable, a good cigar doesn't have to be expensive!

@@Ob_Bashar taste might be due to the level of humidity in the cigar. The wrapper gets to dry and taste bitter. I’ve seen guys dip the cigar in a glass of water, foot first, for a split second. The cigar takes on a bit of moisture and helps with taste. If it’s your first time I would try it with an inexpensive cigar.

I've toured a Cuban cigar factory twice. Their quality control is very exacting. I saw a pile of "rejects" that looked perfectly fine to me. I asked about them and they said they weren't perfectly rolled. They looked fine to me. The cigars are graded for colour, so each box of 25 cigars matches every other one in the box. They use a special gauge to ensure that each cigar band is placed in exactly the right spot. As the narrator said, the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba has perfect conditions for growing the best cigar tobacco. The leaves are carefully aged for years before the cigars are rolled. It's an amazing process.
their quality control is actually the worst of the 4 big nations (Nicaragua, Dominican Rep, Cuba & Honduras). On avg last year, 2-3 cigars in 10 were basically defective

Here’s what I’ve experienced in my years of cigar smoking , I’ve smoked 300 dollar padrons to 5 dollar punches. To me Cubans have a very distinct taste that I love. A 20 dollar Cuban in my opinion will out smoke any other new world cigar taste wise . With that being said new world cigars generally have better construction and presentation. I now live in the Philllipines and all I smoke are Cubans and I must say taste wise there’s nothing better than an authentic Cuban cigar .

That's why I love premium cigars, you know what you're in for. Alcohol companies try to hide the bad side. Cigar companies on the contrary are very upfront about it
@Valdis4418 that is true, but it's the general mentality of the premium cigar industry that I mean. Not those literal health warnings. No smoker cares about those, and the brands factories don't mind them as long as they don't hinder logistics and they can still display their brands in some sort.
Speak to any salesman or brand manager and they will always tell you to enjoy in moderation, something they actually don't have to do by law. There is general atmosphere that is "we know there are risks, but enjoyment is fine as long as you do it in moderation"
Having worked in a liquor store the alcohol industry doesn't care about this and wants to push people to drink as much as possible, something you won't see premium cigars makers do. They rather have quality above quantity. Even Scotch manufacturers often try to heavily push allot of scotch to the consumer. I think it's wrong that it's allowed that those companies have the room to do that, while small, artisan and labor intensive premium cigar manufacturers get treated the same as cigarettes. That's also why I do love the market, because everyone knows cigars are taking hits that are ment for cigarettes. Because premium cigars themselves are not that big of a deal for our society. To little consumption.
Governments should watch out for alcohol and fast food industries more than they should fear premium cigars.
They're so cheap in Cuba itself, it's painful seeing how expensive they are everywhere else.
@Adana Akbar no no, I've just been to Cuba. Cigars are no way as expensive there as they are in the West. Which is expected to be honest, but honestly they're that affordable you'll develop bad habits lol
@Adana Akbar it was about 6 years ago since I was there, but if you plan on visiting I wouldn't worry about cigar price too much, they were likely cheaper than a pack of cigarettes in the UK

@@acucarkid They are selling them really cheap in the US? Well that's great for them but I don't live there, so like the rest of the world genuine Cuban cigars are incredibly expensive. Whereas in Cuba itself they're pretty affordable.

@@triplemoyagames4195 you dont inhale cigars its not really comparable to cigarettes at all cigars are about the flavor and slowing down to make sure the smoke stays cool but it doesnt go out. Youre only supposed to take a puff every like 60-90 seconds.

I once bought a long and thick cigar on the recommendation of the shop keeper and I was so excited and at the same time felt so cool. It tasted like a dead possum and the whole room was filled with so much smoke as if i was making some sort of barbecue, I smoked it for two weeks and then gave up and threw it away.
@Bishrut Bhattarai Wow. If I may ask, in this video they were lighting up the cigar with something that is not a matchstick. What is it and why? How does it affect the flavor? I've only seen the "don't light it with a lighter, use only a matchstick" from movies or tv shows.
If the cigar is decent and you smoke it properly, then it should taste and smell really good, even to a non smoker. Also, relighting your cigar is not recomended, especially after a long time. Find the time to *slowly* enjoy it all.

I have the cigar habit. With a glass of wine or my morning coffee. To me a good cigar is something that stays lit, burns uniformly, has an excellent aroma and doesn't bite.

I can only imagine, when I was in primary/elementary school in the early 80's I had a teacher who used to smoke a pipe in class lol plus my father used to bring home pipe tabacco tins from a fella he worked with for my sisters for hop scotch, I loved the smell of them tins, not quite cigars but the memory sticks.
@@dimmers76 i totally agree! at school some of the rowing coaches were elderly gentleman who loved the pipe and the aromatic tobacco for pipes smells the best. Especially to a younger adult. my mates and I always wondered what else they secretly smoked

I'm a cigar smoker (I smoke about two per month so not enough to cause any harm but enough to enjoy them). I do very much enjoy Cuban cigars and always try to pick up a few when out of the country (you can own them here in the United States but it is still not legal to sell/purchase them here). However, Dominican tobacco is just as good.
What you're smoking in a premium cigar, is just tobacco, no preservatives or other nasty chemicals. With a cigar, it's Just you and nicotine.
I bought a Cuban cigar in Mexico. It probably was counterfeit and tasted like a trash dump.
