- The Jacob & Co. Astronomia is the craziest watch ever made, period. There are some more complicated, some even more expensive, but none quite so audacious as this.

We’re about 10 years away from Jacob & Co creating a watch with a mini arc reactor powered sun that also tells the time.
Nuclear fision watch
A Tesla Coil in a watch would be a banger
And all mechanically
thanks Einstein
@@TripleDDDD Maybe using an electrical discharge to display the time! 'Spark hands'! That would be absolutely FANTASTIC, and if it was about a million less than however much it would cost, I'd be happy to add it to my collection!
you know its an expensive watch when Andrew has to wear gloves for his video
Maybe he was out sick from work so he had to have an imposter fill in 😂
😂😂😂
The funny part of it all is that we should feel blessed in seeing this unicorn even in videos since only 18 of it is gonna be made according to Watchfinder, however Producer Michael already bought it or has already owned one as we speak.
Wait, 600.000 seems reasonable for some reason. I mean, there’s some Richard Mille out there that cost 1 maybe 2 million and didn’t have this amount of complications and craftsmanship
J&C don't make watches, they make art that tells the time
That’s true for many brands: including Swatch.
“Tells the time” sure, if you can figure out the dial
And a bunch of overly engineered juvenile stuff too
Pocket change
The maddest thing is the afterthought of a sailcloth strap.
They accidentally made a pocket watch then remembered the assignment was for a wristwatch.
That watch had a strap? I didn't notice.
8:17 He came up with “the most nervous piece of reptile skin since Crocodile Dundee”, thought it was too good to wait until reviewing a watch with a leather strap.
The designers must have spent all their brain juice on the dial and had nothing left for the strap 😂
Lol😂
You can ask for a matching metal strap. They make everything custom. You may have to wait a few months but it is possible.
You clearly know nothing
I would imagine most people interested in a watch like this would be major collectors.
IMO this watch is way to sophisticated for casual wear. I would have it for display.
I can only imagine what it would be like to have this in hand and in wrist. It’s brilliant to see these magnificent pieces in detail and kudos to the Watchfinder crew for getting the chance to show us. I could look at that thing for ages! 👌
The display case the watch comes in is worthy of a video in itself.
I'll wait for Christopher Ward to do a Bel Astro for 1 per cent of the cost of whatever this is.
You know it's expensive when he pulls out the gloves
Amazing! Thank you so much for showing us this!
Yay! I’ve been waiting years for this amazing watch to get some proper UA-cam attention. You hit it out of the park, neighborhood, region, continent, atmosphere, and solar system. Bonkers indeed.
Thank you kind Sir. I will give this a great thought for my collection.
Really enjoyed this review.
You are so so good! I want the Swatch version
There are a lot of unconventional "art" style watches at this value that just look tacky, but this is pure art. Mechanically, finish, design, just everything is perfect.
Compared to the equiv price Richard Mille, this is exceptional
It's got a 4 quid strap 😮
I would buy and install a huge TV set on one of my house walls and dedicate it exclusively to project this video in loop mode.
Mesmerizing
This is indescribably fabulous.
Whatever you think about the way it looks you cannot deny this is pretty great engineering, it's fascinating
INSANELY THICK BUT WOW IS THIS A WORK OF ART.
I literally wouldn’t put it on my wrist, I’ll just held and watch it from time to time😊
I just love Jacob & Co watches❤❤❤
What's with the cheap band?
A masterpiece, I love seeing new Jacob & Co creations.
"Producer Micheal used to be a suit wearing accountant until he got his" is soo underrated
Cool looking watch, I could definitely use a new daily beater!
I love this sort of crazy watch. If I was an evil billionaire super villain, I’d definitely have one.
This thing looks amazing. Why don't people give jacob and co credit as much as they could? How does the complexity and craftsmanship of this compare to, say, an AP Code 1159 Universelle?
Who doesn’t give them credit? I mean i respect their ambition, but everything they do is too much for me. Not just money, but in the “look at me” factor. Over complicated for the sake of over-complication. Amazing, but also pretty much unwearable. But yes I get it, they’re basically mechanical artists who’s art also happens to tell the time.
@@ROVA00 Don't get a smartphone your brain might get overloaded, it's not for everyone. 🤣
@@Albet27 I’m amazed that you made that comment, sent it, and felt like you made some kind of point lol
Insane pretty much sums it up!
Incredible is an understatement. DaVinci would be impressed with that! Makes me appreciate the Planet Ocean Watch.. it is affordable.
It needs a bespoked protective casing to be even worn safely at a posh dinner party w/ bespoked tempered glass as well :-)
I like it.
Exytaordinary and outstanding thimking and design.
Perfect!
Absolutely bonkers!
I wanna see this on the moonswatch strap.
You'd think they'd make a much larger version as a table ornament. Imagine the same thing but around the size of a side plate on your coffee table, it would be amazing and I'd imagine they could make something even more incredible.
At last a practical steam punk wrist watch I can wear when I'm flying my cast iron airship/submarine and it's got a navigation function too - result.
one of my favourite things to do to cheer myself up is to search for Jacob & Co watches and just laugh at the insanity. Never fails to make me smile
Try this with Van Cleef & Arpels too!
@Bax Out The Box thanks for the tip, never seen a watch with a ring pull before
$680,000 worth of... kitsch?
What next?. A Jacob & Co. mini wrist time machine. Just turn the bezel and go to the year of your choice.
Dude, come one ... TIME LAPSE! How can you not with this thing?
I think i would never wear or buy it, but it is the watch that brings me to watches again some years ago....stunning ;)
Super cool.
That thing is so wicked.
Masterpiece
I honestly want to know the powertrain and how to set time in this watch…
I like the @ProducerMichael shoutout
I wanna see a review of the Raymond Weil Freelancer RW1212 Skeleton, with the bronze bezel and stainless steel case :D
It's interesting.
Incredible piece of horology
still cant tell the date
Even thinking about how the complications work gave me a seizure.
Cool, the kinds of watch to buy when you already have The model from each amazing brand (especially the trinity which includes Jaeger-LeCoultre).
But Jacquet Droz was the first to do things like this (w/ animation and story).
God bless.
It is kinda awesome!
Definitely a beater.
1) Man, do I love this dial's blue! 2) We want more gemstones like this
The seconds display looks like the disc on the time machine from 1960s movie.
You know it's expensive when the gloves are worn.
i would get this watch if it had a date display😂am i being sensible bloke🤔😂😂
7:44 Steve McQueen Submariner!!!? You mean Daytona
4:48 they were Visionary enough to predict that no one on the southern hemisphere could ever afford that. Kudos.
If the coin was right, then I’m sure the Southern Hemisphere people can be accommodated. Extra special piece😬.
How do you wind/set time to this thing?
Utterly, beautifully, bonkers on every single aspect.
Except the strap.
Sidereal time is a "time scale that is based on Earth's rate of rotation measured relative to the fixed stars."
_Jacob n Co. when making this watch_ : *it's torbin' time*
Beautifully whatch
Two things:
First: you can tell how well polished an object is, when a fraction of a marble 5 mm across can show people reflecting a couple of meters away.
Second: the alien zoo joke tells me that someone here watches The Orville.
Had to back and check, and yes, at 6:28 you can see him moving his arm on the earth's reflection.
@@sniperblastThanks for the benchmark
If it takes years, I will own one of these one day. I am completely mesmerized by this time piece. Thank you for the review 🫡
That's insanity squared. No, cubed. No, whatever-the-hell-this-shape-is'd.
3d elipse!😂😂❤
Can you imagine what servicing this piece would cost 😮?
if you think about the servicing cost, than I don't think you are the target market of said watch. But then I also have the same sentiments.
Free service for life for the original owner
Can You create that falling snow when You shake it? That's what I'd like to see.
2099 Jacob & Co manufacture the first ever time travelling watch
I dream about this watch all the time
But is it shockproof?
I'm sure it wears smaller on the wrist than the entire universe.
Interesting how they hid "J & Co" in the tourbillion cage like that.
... and then you whack it against a door frame ...
Can you review the Urwerk UR-1001 Titan please?
Wow!😮
You think that’s complicated? Where’s the lume and the helium escape valve? 😂
So, to settle a debate, the earth is in the center and everything rotates around right?
correct...that is called the "copernican" system....beautiful , accurate , magical!! then some stupid fuck didnt like the common peasant walmart shopper class doing magic, so GALILEO invented the solar system under authority of the pope....now you know the truth😮😮
how do you rewind it, change the time or do anything to set it? I didn't see any knobs. Is it an automatic movement?
It's magic infused. Works just with envy of the people around.
Really? You can’t see the mechanical movement, they didn’t hide it.
I’ve just bought a watch from the DIY Watch Club, where you can build your own watch. Maybe you could review them?
How much was the wrist band?
you can get alligator for $300
More Jacob watches.
If I can ever afford a Jacob, this is the watch I will buy. For me this is the only Jacob that is tasteful while being an engineering marvel. A true hyperwatch.
Next up is the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Sapphire Case Watch. You know you want to show that.
How do you set it?
With bitcoins
@@SpaceG95😂😂😂
I wish I had this watch 😭😭😘
It's all good and well but wtf is that nylon strap doing there?????
It's awesome. Way to go, J&C, keep pushing the boundaries and all that. As far as a watch goes, it's horrific. I wouldn't wear it if they gave me a free one. Still, innovation is great!
I understand the hate these get, but I love em at the same time. It's a beautiful watch. I want one, but hopefully I'll get to merely see it some day. I have a Rolex on my wrist right now, but that makes me a little green with envy.
Futurama reference?
Do you think the owner will miss the date complication??
You forgot to tell us its water resistance. I'm not going to buy this if I don't know whether I can go swimming with it.
Jacob seems to be the guy making things ppl will never afford but the art is amazing showing his love for his craft which makes him the king of our time in that space 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
As usual excellent and interesting video. I love the channel but there is a massive discrepancy between how the guys here market watchfinder and the service provided when you actually contact them-such a shame. I wouldn’t recommend ever using them for your watch needs.
Yeah, as watches go…. it’s not bad I suppose. Think I’ll order a couple tonight. PS is there a 15% discount code?
Just keep your eyes peeled it's not uncommon to see 50% discounts
If you buy three, there's a Bugatti for free.
