The problem with someone like Billy or Keith is that 99% of their gear is locked away in various warehouses. Billy Gibbons would be my #1 guy to sit for a week and go through his cases...Keith Richards collection would take a month!
I'm really glad one of Gibson's people respects other brands because Gibson and Fender are the cradle and just the beginning of something most beautiful in the music world for us musicians
Absolutely. My true love will always be the les paul but we've all a that love affair with other brands. The mistresses, if you will, that we have that only they can possess certain characteristics and love. She knows she's not your main squeeze you go out in public with, but she doesn't want to be her, she is happy just being your 2nd fiddle.
Drool Drool Drool ,this series ROCKS!!!.You guys scared me when you removed the first upload.Keep em coming please ,i could watch this for hours.Thank you John and Gibson for this.
@@GearGasms just checked out your channel, interesting. Just got yourself a new sub, and I won't require my salad being tossed as per the relic video. Cheers.
Donovan L. Forsythe lol - I probably couldn’t get all the lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes right now to get it all together anyway! Thanks Donovan! My main goal is to try to bring people a little laughter and joy, especially right now!
So good. I just love hearing Mark Agnesi discuss guitars. His knowledge and passion of all makes and models is so fun to listen to for me. He really living a dream life and you can tell he enjoys this stuff so much.
It is so cool that this guy knows he is extremely lucky to own all these amazing guitars. I'm glad these guitars are owned by someone that truly loves them 😁
Guess I'l repost my original comment, too - Man, I love these shows! Keep 'em comin', Mark - and again, kudos for showing more than just Gibsons in these videos. It's also really cool that you looked at amps and other equipment too. 👍👍👍
One of the things I like about this episode is that most of that gear seems to be being used from time to time, getting some love and being appreciated. No issue with other collectors storing their guitars, but it's a shame not playing some of those! Nice video!
I wouldn't be surprised if one of these major collector guys has my 1980 Les Paul that was stolen from me in Hollywood twenty-two years ago. Mark - thanks for bringing this to us and to John Shanks, thanks for sharing your amazing collection and studio.
awesome ....poor Mark ...the look of affection/ longing as John is playing that first 59'..like...aww, gee wiz, I wish she were my girl...i would be the same and I have been!

Great Guy .... Incredible Collection... I used to have a Pelham Blue 12 String Melody Maker just like that...Very Deep Blue along with a Sparkling Burgundy version... So cool...and cheap years back... Rudy@GRNY
Your killing it mark. Would have liked to have seen some more of the other guitars like the gretch ricks and fenders. But appreciate you showing what you did of the other brands
Loving this series! Dan Auerbach would make an interesting episode, and he'd be local for you down in Nashville. I guess he's not so much known for playing Gibsons, but I do know he just picked up a 59 burst. He used to play a Trini sometimes too. But the other stuff would more than make up for anything lacking.
looks like 0,00001% of my little 30qm homestudio ,packed with gear...I love his organized chaos in a house...thanks so much...now I feel better, cause I thought, I have too much gear! Great vid!! :-)
That 59 les paul at 8:30 is a red eye. the burst is faded aside of the where the tag hung on the switch and the horn . the sun was likely hitting the bottom half of the guitar in the window. They go to the acoustic room and then walla,, a bunch more electrics. lol

29:38 Way Huge STO. They just unveiled that pedal a week ago. This video is over a year old.. Go Shanks. He had an AMAZING collection. Love the Bursts.
What an impressive collection! I’m sure other people say this: Thank you John Shanks for letting MA come in and poke around your house and collection... and in turn thanks for letting us drool over ourselves looking at it all (and there’s a lot!)
Oh and BTW - thank you GIBSON TV for not being like “ONLY GIBSONS PLEASE”... it would be easily understood if you only wanted to dedicate the time and space to your own vintage gear - it’s so choice - but you don’t... you let the other vintage marques shine too. That’s very, very gracious.
This is so great. You will laugh but John's production's of Michelle Branch's records were when I first learned about this talented producer. Since then, all the recordings I have made in my little home project studio have been sorry attempts to emulate his genius.
This is about the third time I'm watching this but the main thing is that he uses these instruments. I don't know if to this day but hes using these vintage instrument and that's What's important ❤❤
Excellent video! Keep 'em coming Mark. Thanks for sharing your collection John. My $0.02....I get the rarity factor with early vintage black ES-3x5 guitars. But honestly, I think the cherry colored ES guitars looks so much better, especially unfaded examples. Everything else being equal..,.I would choose a cherry ES-3x5 over a black example any day. And a nice brown-yellow sunburst looks nicer to me.
Billy Gibbons would be the Ultimate Collection. Please do everything you can to finally solve the Moderne mystery.
The problem with someone like Billy or Keith is that 99% of their gear is locked away in various warehouses. Billy Gibbons would be my #1 guy to sit for a week and go through his cases...Keith Richards collection would take a month!

Amazing collection. James Honeyman-Scott’s Zematis guitar is very cool. He was such a great guitarist.
MrGuitarHack he was very melodic and one of the coolest looking guitarist ever
I really like his playing.
Any chance of getting Mark Knopfler for this ? He has an amazing and vast collection, both guitars and amps !
John_ pryce I don’t think he’s an asshole
He’s my uncle,he is a bit of an a hole
Never to much Fender in collection
That would be so awesome. He even has is own professional recording studio's!
This was a great episode. I could sit and watch these all day.
Shanks is such a nice guy! Guitars everywhere, awesome collection
Such a nice guy he talked that widow out of her zematis that she had sold at a higher price to some one other than him !?
Thanks for the amazing content Gibson. Love Shanks. Total badass.
OH my god . What a beautiful collection 😍

John Shanks is the ultimate guitarist! ❤
Glad this one is back up. It’s a killer, killer collection! Thanks GibsonTV
Nice to see John still has the Gretsch “Elliot Easton” he bought from me a few years back!
This guy is garbage. And he littered Bon Jovi with that garbage the last 10 yrs.
Love his house and his collection. Thanks to all involved in sharing this with us.😁

That 58 gold black back🤯What an incredible collection! John is a great musician as well, great job again guys!

for me this collection would be permanent stress...because I wanna play them all...
I think the same thing. Glad they’re not just suffocating in their cases!
Love these types of vids! Thanks for doing these!
Pat Smear from Germs and Foo Fighters has quite the collection if you've seen live clips. Always changing guitars.
Seen it..amazing!

Just love his passion for, and knowledge of tone. You don’t develop that overnight.
That was killer!!! That is total dream house!! Thanks mark ✌️

Thanks Mark! Good job and great show man!!! 8) --gary
Splendid stuff, these programs you are putting together are really good.
The Holy Grail of guitars! Thank you very much Mark! Love John!
Hey Gibson, I think you need to make some of those Black P-90 LP's. That is one slick guitar.
Make sure they have the staple pickup in the neck ....

So many great guitars and insane studio, TY!
This is great! I especially like that you show the other brands even though this is a Gibson channel! It really show you are music fans first!
Thijs Brinksma totally agree! The guitar world is big enough for all of us!
Cool guitars for sure! Fairly nice works on the walls at shanks house too!
I have a John Shanks pick when he toured with Melissa Etheridge .. what a sweetheart he is
Love this series. Amazing guitars.
Had the pleasure of writing with John back in 1997. Good times. Good dude.
"I use this guitar a lot"... "I love this guitar"... John says this about almost every guitar he has. lol
Seriously amazing collection.
Posibly he uses more all these guitars than you or me our most used one
This reminds me of the room in guitar center with all the really expensive guitars
Absolutely blown away by both the collection and the whole house/studio design
