    Holy BALLS...my laptop computers almost exploded on that startup...haha. I LOVE seeing a Pratt and Miller car. So many random Cadillacs, Camaro's and Corvettes floating about the world that came out of Pratt for future vintage racing collectors to fight over. I shall be one of them!

    Myself a race car guy been through small cc honda touring cars to 997.1 cup car to FIA GT3 this guy knows his car, and most importantly, can put them into words and explain in an understandable fashion. I would say most drivers starts to get lost once you open the engine bay, lift the car up.
    Also it is almost nonexistent any team would show you inside and under-body of their car in a video and talk about it in detail, for example the front-rear wheel rotation difference detection device, vibration from drive shaft, bloc of ice, blind spot, etc, etc. Although most cars look the same but devil's in the details like what brand of fans how many how big what angle thickness of radiator, the location of sump, etc. Yes a proper racing outfit built this car and it's homologated by the racing sanction body but there are simple yet smart things teams would do to the cars which are legal yet would make a difference in the race.
    It is interesting to me that this car and this grandsport series is far from my idea of showroom stock (group N in FIA), however, I am surprised by how much engineering, works, customized electronics & parts that were put into the car. It is essentially a FIA GT3 delete the sequential gearbox, racing camshafts, valves, and giant front splitter and rear wing. This is much more advanced compare to a GT4. Definitely not a let's put on a roll cage and go racing kind of showroom stock. This is a serious bit of race car and very interesting to see.

      ***** Anthony is just a super relaxed guy, don't let his calm demeanor be confused for lack of enthusiasm because he is a car guy through and through.

    Great episode, I was just watching the continental tire challenge on fox racing the other day and pretty sure i saw that Camaro running. That paint job stands out, the white with a hint of blue, looks sweet. I'm looking to buy either a 2010+ Camaro SS or 2015+ Mustang GT, my heart lies with chevy, but that new mustang can't be denied, such a tricky decision if i might say lol

      +Matt C (JDMster) You definitely saw it running as that's the series the car ran in :) And that is a tough call. As much as we love the Camaros, the new Mustangs are truly exceptional.

    Hang on, the gearbox would be from Rockland Standard Gear, and it is called a Transilla... Badass 'box man, dog syncros from 1st to 5th (and handles 800ft/lbs) , so no clutch needed for up shifts in those gears... Nice piece, got one ordered for a B15 LSX project (but with aftermarket forgies and rods and bigger cam and a pair of GT42R's) going into an early 80's Australian GM vehicle- a VH Commodore SL/E- a very sort after car in my country

    I have a 5th gen z/28. The interior isn’t much. It has a manual transmission and racing seats. It’s pretty much a street legal race car

      @speedacademydave 9 років тому

      Todd Bentley LOL ya we'll do some research on that one. Anthony's a very sharp guy, so if he's attributing it to magic, we're pretty willing to accept that! :P

    • @toddbentley5416
      @toddbentley5416 9 років тому

      David Pratte Haha no worries, it's kind of a random thing to know about as it's not something that is generally messed with much on a race car (versus like how the aero or camber is constantly changed and set up to his preferences). I was actually assuming it was being kept a secret to give the team an edge in keeping the driver cool

      Benjamin Ellsworth Anthony's actually a super sharp guy, very passionate about racing and about these cars. He could have gone into a lot more detail, but we were afraid if he went too tech heavy it'd put people to sleep so I kept my questions pretty straightforward. If anything I was the dummy on screen in this one!

    • @supersevenn
      @supersevenn 9 років тому

      Benjamin Ellsworth as he is the driver, he seemed to know a lot more than the usual. remember, he does not build these things, nor is he the engineer.

    This is the real deal, I mean real race car people and enthusiasts about the racing world, not like many douchebags wannabe superstar showing off on UA-cam driving their fancy overrated super cars trying to look cool.

      +arif rifz Both very different cars, one is big and heavy with lots of HP while the other is lightweight and nimble. We'd take the FRS if we had to choose one.

      can't wait to see FR-S lap times..can it beat 1:19.92 sec? haha
