Great Video - I do have the Bhaptics devices you have reviewed and I totally agree with ranking. I actually also have the feet version for feeling the crushing of skulls in Blade and Sorcery. I have been looking into getting either a Forcetube or a Provolver and I have also come to the conclusion that the Provolver might be the right pick - you have reassured me of that.
Thanks Evilkingus! I’m glad to hear someone else agrees with me on the ranking. I don’t think people get how cool the arms are from bHhaptics. I’ve heard the feet bHaptics can be cool in B&S, so you find them effective/cool in any other games too? (the biggest thing holding me back on them was I didn’t see many supported games). I’m glad to hear you’re going to give the pro Volver a try I think (especially if you saw my poll) it’s the most underappreciated accessory for VR. Takes a lot of patience to tune it properly using the companion software, but I think it’s awesome.
@@EndersVRcade I haven't really use the bhaptics for feet to anything else. The general idea was to creat slime-vrs for full body tracking (with the help from a friend who is competent with electronics). I wanted to be able to physically crush heads with my feet and feel the rumble. The tactosy for feet worked perfectly but I could never get the body tracking to work properly. It seemed as if my character was dancing the limbo, so I gave up. I really dig the Tactosy for arms, but they can get rather uncomfortable and they are somewhat heavy, but they are really great for feeling the guns - I actually think they do the trick perfectly and you don't need stuff like the provolver. I am just curious, so I may buy the provolver if I can convince myself of the business case.
I agree with the vest being the best value in haptics right now. I hope they move on to doing a full body suit with the same density of feedback motors someday. Right now I'm looking forward to bHaptics gloves which should be out next year.
I definitely want gloves for VR, but since we already have vibration in the controllers, often admittedly, weak, I don’t see myself paying for them. However, what really does interest me is a young man named Lucas, who developed gloves that give you resistance when you try to grab something. He has made his programming and designs open source/free to download and you can do it for about 35 bucks but it’s a lot of work. thrillseeker has a video interview with him or maybe sadly as Bradley does. That’s what I really want when those become consumer friendly pricewise. A suit would, of course be amazing too. I’m really interested to see how the haptic shirt from OWO (might be spelling it wrong ) ends up being received. It might be a lot less hot and sweaty. Then wearing an X40 as well.
@@EndersVRcade It seems there is some progress toward getting rid of controllers and going to hand tracking exclusively for many applications. VRChat now supports no controllers pretty well, especially if you have a treadmill for locomotion. The ridiculous combination of haptics, full body tracking, a VR treadmill, and a headset that supports face, eye, and hand tracking still has a long way to go before becoming practical, but at least is becoming possible right now.
Yeah, I could see hand tracking without controllers being great for VR Chat, and other social games. I think it’ll be a while yet or maybe never before we do away with controllers for games like shooters though because I think a physical contact is necessary/preferred for things like triggers and gripping objects. For example, I think the PSVR2’s adaptive triggers would be awesome for that kind of application.
@@EndersVRcade Thanks for the great review. I've almost purchased the X40 many times since launch. The fact that so many people seem to stop using it after a short time is sort of what stopped me. Many see it's neat but too much trouble to put on all the time. I'm also excited about OWO electrocution shirt (lol) and that other haptic vest being on the horizon. Even if those end up being better than X40, I think I will pick up an X40 soon as it is years ahead with actual game support over the competition. Makes no difference how good something is without the software support to actually use it. =D
Just wanted to start off by saying I really enjoy your content and between the different haptics, shotgun mod, and Katwalk, you have my ideal VR setup. I have a similar set up as you with the Bhaptics x40 vest and tactosy and Protube gear (I lucked out and my index controllers work with my Forcetube and Provolver combo), but I don't have the tactal. This may seem like an odd question, but do you find discomfort with the tactal comes with wearing it for a while or is it as soon just uncomfortable from minute one? I only get to play in VR for maybe an hour at a time, but I'm always looking at the most immersive experience. Just for reference, I mostly play FPS games like Contractors. Thanks!
Hello Jorge and thank you for letting me know that you appreciated my video! I'm definitely jealous that your Index Controllers work with the ProTube devices. As for the Tactal, I think if I have the foam cushion in place, I feel it immediately when I feel the round motors pressing against my forehead. With the foam out I don't notices it any more, which sounds contradictory I know, but I just keep the headstraps looser, and I don't notice the Tactal much. Also your question made me realize something I couldn't figure out while recording. It hasn't bothered me in a while though and as I sit at my PC looking at my Quest 2 (which I've been playing mainly with the Tactal), I added the Bobo halo style head strap and it keeps a lot of pressure off and away from my forehead. I had a Bobo Midnight edition from Tycho Tech on Etsy (until I dropped it and cracked the strap) and you could use this for the G2 if that's a concern. Although the Bobo doesn't fit G2 easily and feels like it's about to break your G2 connecting arms and feels loose side to side. I hope that was helpful and not too much of an essay lol.
Just a note I use the vive pro 2 but also have the index and quest pro, I have now ordered the cups for the quest pro which hopefully don't have the same issue but I tried my index controllers with and without the fix and also turning the settings down really low and although the index seemed a little better it is still not great and causes tracking issues even on low settings. I personally think they should stop targeting towards the index and only do the magtube which is great
Hi Dazzy and thanks for sharing your experience with your headsets! I imagine lots of those HMD users or potential buyers will appreciate it.I wish they would at least note the issue with Index Controllers, yeah. I've tried lowering the feed back too, but I have to lower it to the point that it's just too disappointing for me.
I'm twenty minutes in, so please forgive me if you answer this question later on in the video. Have you had any issue with the tactosy sleeves not working in conjunction with the forcetube? Shooting rifles and machine guns in sniper elite VR I was able to feel the forcetube, but not the tactosy sleeves. I'm wondering if this is an issue with the forcetube "stealing" the haptic signal which doesn't allow the sleeves to work? Or have you felt recoil without issue in all of your haptic products simultaneously?
Hello Ben, I have been able to feel haptic feedback in all devices simultaneously upto 5 devices, which I mention is a limitation of Bluetooth in this or another video. I consistently get feedback from using Tactosy sleeves and ForceTube in Pavlov for example. Haven't tried Sniper Elite yet but just picked it up on sale and might soon. Also, ProTube and bHaptics use different "signals" as I was told via someone who works at ProTube.
@@EndersVRcade Oh very interesting. Thanks for the reply! I've got Forcetube, x40, and tactosy for arms so I'm under the 5 device limit. Will try to mess around with other games and see if I can get them to all work simultaneously
How powerful are those motors?? The reason I ask is because I play Thrill of the fight. I want to know if it the motors make the punches feel authentic or do the motors just vibrate and tickle you to death. Thanks.
Well, they are pretty powerful motors, but they are just motors that vibrate like with a console controller/gamepad. The Owo shirt works by making your muscles contract via electrodes and some have reported it feels painful. I haven’t tried it only people who went to a trade show have. It also has very limited support of games. But you might Google it and look it up on UA-cam and see if it interest you. I heard the kick starter ships soon.
Hi! I'm wondering if Tactosy for arms with ProVolver will be a good match for games like Half Life Alyx and Pavlov? Will these two devices work together?
They definitely work together- I just needed mods for it- I just didn’t feel like wearing in the arms to at that point, because if I added the arms too I hit some sort of device limit, and one bHaptic wouldn’t connect. I can generally do four items consistently, and that includes counting each arm as a device. But others don’t have that problem ua-cam.com/video/Rua4IKkktRA/v-deo.html
It needs a mod for both ProVolver and bHaptics. You can find them at ProVolver Mod - github.com/Astienth/Provolver... bHaptics Mod instructions- ua-cam.com/video/b2JjZsr7t2Y/v-deo.html

But I have another question for you (sorry for taking up your time) do you use to connect ProVolver and bHaptics equipment only one bluetooth dongle or two? Do you use dongle from ProVolver or dongle from bHaptics?
The ProVolver does have the same issues unfortunately. In my experience ProVolver is much worse with the Index Controllers than the ForceTube. I absolutely love ProVolver with Quest 2 and hope a next generation headset like the rumored Deckard/Index 2 or maybe Pimax 12k with its standalone controllers will give me all the visual and audio quality of my G2 with Quest 2’s/Inside Out/infrared non IMU controllers, so the ProTube accessories wouldn’t be affected.
Yes, Bluetooth issues are common with these devices. I know others and myself can get pro tube and bhaptics devices to work together. First thing to consider is that Windows only supports one Bluetooth receiver on the PC at a time. Best thing to do is if you have on board/motherboard Bluetooth to use only that to connect the devices because the longer antenna can be helpful. Second best option is to get a PCI card with a Bluetooth antenna. Third option is to use a Bluetooth dongle but only one will work at a time (and you have to disable onboard/motherboard Bluetooth) and you need to connect all devices to that dongle. Pro tube dongle doesn’t seem to allow anything other than the pro tube to connect. Try bhaptics dongle although I’ve had issues with it. Better option still is to buy a better Bluetooth dongle.
@@EndersVRcade Thank you very much for your answer. Can I understand that I really don't have motherboard Bluetooth and pcie cards now, but use Bluetooth adapters of bhaptics and forceube? I just need to buy a new adapter on the Internet and have them both connected to the same adapter. So I can solve my problem? But do they support themselves to connect to the new Bluetooth module?
I think I understand. You do not have motherboard bluetooth or a free PCIE slot to add it. Yes, try a USB Bluetooth dongle 5.0 or newer. Dongle with antenna better. Yes connect all devices to the one dongle. No guarantee this will work. This is my best guess. Good Luck!
