This is the most in-depth, point by point reviews I’ve found on the subject. I was straddling the fence between Woojer and Bhaptics. I thought Bhaptics made more sense now I’m certain. Can you please do another video featuring Zero Caliber Reloaded. It supports haptics natively. I play an overwhelming amount of PVP and I’m imagining this will take it to the next level. Thanks again for the stellar review.
Great review! Until December 10 the x40 is 20% off if you buy it by itself and the arms are 15% if you also buy it by itself, but they have a 25% bundle if you get em together so I’m probably going to grab that! I did the math and buying the x16 + arms is only $125 cheaper than the x40 bundle with the way the discounts are, so I figured I might as well get the x40 for that price difference.
Thanks for your helpful video. @8:57 When you said you could feel it ripple up your arm, it got me thinking: it must be the *controller* haptics, then the forearm, then the vest! That would be quite amazing. Now you’ve got me wanting to try this! Thanks so much!
Nice to hear that you are having fun with the suit. As probably the most active mod creator for bhaptics, I just wanted to add a couple of facts that are good to know: The mods have nothing to do with the game developers, they are made entirely by some crazy enthusiastic user who just wants to play the game with bhaptics feedback. ;-) So all those amazing Alyx effects were created and implemented by the modder (Shizof in this case). Major props to him. Many now native games were actually once mods, and the developers just integrated the effects down the line. And even if not, the bhaptics team often helps them create nice patterns and ideas what to integrate. This is much easier if you have done it a couple of times, as opposed to it being the first time for your own game. So there's the reason why most (not all...) implementations are pretty decent. Modders or the bhaptics team created the patterns, and they have a lot of experience by now. ;-)
@@bringhurstvr Yeah, very much grass roots. The company is much smaller than most people would guess. Maybe some 20 people sitting in Korea making the suits and the software. 😅 And the community helping where they can.
Thanks for the honest review! Had never heard of this company before. I had the Subpac a years ago but its outdated by now, and I was looking to see what's out there on the market. I LOVE to listen to pounding bass when listening to music so here's my question since you've had both: Which did you like better for listening to music and why, Woojer Vest 3 or the Tactsuit X40?
It feels like the X40 would be a waste of money if you're only in it for music. The Woojer is probably the better choice just because it's cheaper. The X40 is great for it's targeted responses in games.
The tactsuit works for about everything I'd want it to, which won't be true for everyone. But the ProVolver works with just about everything alongside the companion app on PCVR.
Thanks for the info 😅. I've been researching on this specific haptic vest for a while and and planning to get the full pack but you are really making me feel confident in my decision so thanks. And about the game thing I want you to try leathal company if that's ok?
Cool, thanks for the review. I do allot of SIM racing games. Could you try just one PC Racing game with the "Audio BHaptics" and what sensations does the Vest provide far as engine speeds, gearing, bumps, etc. Make sure there is no music playing while driving. I know with Audio it is just overall effects to the vest, would there be any differences in a Racing game? Take care.
I really don't put much value in that function, but I can give it a try. If that's what you're looking for then the Woojer will be better and more affordable. This is more for precision haptics.
@@bringhurstvr Thanks for your reply and information. I may get into more shooter games but right now limited on disk space and I have all kinds of racing games installed from STEAM at this time. Note: They do have Assetto Corsa, AMS2, ACC, RaceRoom racing games on their game list. What it actually does with the Vest, have no clue. Says it has a Mod. I do have this game. I do have a 3 older shooter games I have had for years and they do work in VR now whcih are DOOM, QUAKE, and WOLFENSTEIN. I ran a version of each game up with my Quest 3 and surprised they all worked pretty well. I don't think these work with BHaptics vest other than maybe the audio to Haptics option. I know the vest costs over 500 dollars. Last thing - most people with racing games go a different route and buy Racing Rigs with vibration devices and the Wheel Controllers like mine that have Force Feeback. So maybe the Vest would be a bit of overkill for racing games. So I know what it used with these games. Haven't seen anyone try BHaptics with Racing games yet. Thanks again.
A quick search on their site shows Pavlov as being supported natively. Unless that's not standalone. It's admittedly not as clear cut as I'd like. www.protubevr.com/en/content/37-haptic-compatibility
@@bringhurstvr yeah PCVR is good to go but they haven't added it yet to standalone. Good news is the Pavlov devs included an on/off toggle for bHaptics in the menu (just isn't functional yet) so it should be coming down the pipeline.
@@10speed4 yeah, my 4080 is probably on par with a tower's 3060. It gives me ultra settings on most games and I can take my computer up and downstairs without much hassle.

Sorry for the late reply. UA-cam doesn't alert me to every comment. I've mentioned Vertigo 2 a few times. I'm yet to beat it, but yes, it's a passion project that deserves everyone's attention.
I've reached out to them in the past, but nothing came of it. Probably just as well. I don't think it's precision haptics, unless I'm wrong? I thought it was just a bass-to-haptic conversion suit.
@@mhillenaar I'm only asking if it responds to in-game triggers, like actions such as dropping ammo down your back in HL Alyx. The way it expresses the haptic feedback might be revolutionary. I'm only curious if it's triggered by actions rather than audio.
@bringhurstvr It does and it does it way better.. only problem not enough games support it yet. (Natively) I used it in Assassins Creed Mirrage and it blew my mind... feel everything...
I'm pretty sure it's using a haptic system like the Quest 3 controllers. It's kind of a speaker that can modulate vibrations with more accuracy than a traditional motor.
That intro was nice!
I laughed so hard in the beginning! Good video - thanks dude!
Love the channel dude, keep it coming 👍
VR is getting crazier everyday 😂 must be quite an experience to wear
This is something I'd love to try out! Great video!

It doesn't. That's basically a subwoofer strapped to your body. This is precision feedback for gaming.
Us the x16 or x40 better for the price and the moter strength
Depends on how tall you are. The motor strength is the same. There are just more of them on the x40. I'm 6"4' and the x16 looks ridiculous on me.
